We had a fantastic stay in May 2012 at Madeleine and Jurs trullo villa nestled in the stunning Puglia countryside.
The villa itself was perfect for us, very tastefully decorated and furnished, with everything we could have needed and more (Jurs super comprehensive dvd filing system and full reviews was particluarly impressive, as were Madeleines pretty little touches around the villa). The pool was superb, and expertly maintained by Jur every other morning, and the private land surrounding the villa was dotted with cherry and olive trees. The villa was located well off the beaten track, so you are well away from just about everyone.
We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and they had really gone the extra mile in providing furniture for the children (4 and 2) as well as a bucket and spade set (bless!!). It seems as though they had thought of everything - even supplying an umbrella when the rain arrived.
The Puglia region was stunning, with every town having its own unique and interesting features. We had a few days of bad weather (unusual for the time of year), but thanks to the activities folder left by Jur, we found plenty to do in the surrounding area including the zoo safari park, the amusement park, the caves, Alberobello, the beaches (really beautiful), vineyard visits and loads more.
The whole family loved this holiday (not least because of the lack of tourists and the authenticity of the whole experience) and it was all made possible by Madeleine and Jur and their fantastic villa.
Couldnt recommend highly enough.

Cherry Tree Trullo is a gem of a holiday villa. It is set in a beautiful, romantic and rural location. The trullo is rustic yet comfortable - it well-equipped - with a great range of films on DVD, and very tastefully decorated, and it is perfect for a family with two children. The pool was larger than anticipated, and very necessary as it was very hot during the daytime. We loved Martina Franca and the surrounding area, and there is plenty to do and see. Madeline and Jur were amazingly helpful - getting a Doctor to see our son who had an ear infection and rescuing us when we got lost! They provided lovely touches like fresh herbs and their own olive oil, they also did a shop for us pre arrival, which was a great help as we arrived in the evening with two hungry boys. We loved our week at the Cherry Tree Trullo and would highly recommend it.

In a lovely private location, peaceful (apart from the occasional barking dog in the distance!). So well catered for, the house is equipped with everything you need. The owners make you very welcome and are very obliging.
Many towns within a short driving distance and MArtina Franca has some lovely shops and places to eat.
Be prepared for poor roads and a driving attitude of a bit of a free for all in the towns, so you need to be on your guard at busy times!
No good if you want to be able to walk into a village for pane fresco every morning, but pefect for peace and relaxation and civilisation is only a short drive.

Our family would strongly recommend this very well restored trullo. The owners are very kind, friendly and helpful and maintain the property in immaculate condition. It is equipped with everything a family needs for a week or two and has a fantastic collection of DVDs should you tire of the sunny poolside! It is within easy reach of 3 very lovely towns and Martina Franca has excellent shopping and lively nightlife in the summer. Learn some basic Italian and practice driving the Italian way before you leave and you should have a great family holiday. Thank you Madeleine and Jur.

This is a fabulous trulli in a beautiful setting. There is everything there that you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday. The property is well maintained and has all those extra touches not normally associated with a holiday rental home, the owners Madeleine and Jur make sure you have everything you need and are always on hand if required. The local towns are all within easy driving distance and have numerous fantastic restaurants, local markets and that lovely Italian feel. We would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed a fantastic two weeks at the Cherry Tree Trullo for our honeymoon. The property was peaceful, extremely well furnished and it was clear that every aspect of the guests comfort had been well thought about.
Madeleine and Jur were extremely helpful, giving us a warm welcome and were on hand should we require any advice.
The trullo came equipped with a good library of books and DVDs, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The pool was well maintained throughout (if a little cold in October!) and the surroundings couldnt be more peaceful.
We wouldnt hesitate in recommending this property for anyone wishing to visit Puglia - thanks for a wonderful honeymoon!

We visited the Cherry Tree Trullo in June 2008 and were delighted to find it was everything we expected and more. The area is beautiful and unspoilt, and so you experience the "real" Italy.
The food was incredible, all local specialities were available close by in Martina Franca. The Trullo is a stunning place to rest and relax - surrounded by countryside, other trullos and a variety of wild creatures.
The welcome we received from Mad and Jur was so warm and friendly, and they continued this throughout the stay, leaving fresh vegetables and herbs on our doorstep, and introducing us to some fabulous food,cafe-bars and restaurants. Never intrusive, they clearly love the region and want their guests to come away with wonderful memories of Southern Italy.
Highly recommended to couples, small families and friends.

Madelaine and Jur provided an excellent welcome. The property was stunning and surpassed our expectations. Very comfortable and well kitted out. Our boys (aged 14 and 11) enjoyed spending time in the pool and watching the local wildlife. Local ammenities could all be found a short drive away in Martina Franca. Local Italian families made us very welcome and gave us a true feel for life in Southern Italy. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is definitely the place for you. Great food shopping in Martina Franca - the old fashioned way!! Local restaurants lively and full of interesting dishes to meet all budgets. Basic Italian is useful as this region is still unspoilt by mass tourism - thankfully!

For my wife and I it was exactly what we required for a holiday, to be able to completly unwind, the nearest Trullo was 100mtrs away. The Cherry tree Trullo was beautiful, the inside and outside has been completly renovated and tastefully fitted out with beautiful fittings and shower units, the pool was kept clean, and all the linen was absolutely clean, the domestic appliances were all new and working. This allowed us to relax and be Itailians for two weeks, the adjoining towns of Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Alberobello were just so beautiful and friendly but you MUST try and communicate in Itailian however small and incomplete you think your language is. A car is essential and great fun (leave any Britishness behind-it is not required and not needed).
Madeliane and Jur were nice people, friendly, very helpful and available if needed.

This is a holiday for couples or those with young children who are easily entertained. The trullo is beautiful and romantic, but in a very rural setting, several kilometers from a town with no real nightlife. We loved it! The owners are extremely friendly and hepful and have done everything they can to provide comfort and amenities. Car hire is essential and SatNav is really useful - we took our own. The only drawback is that meals out are not really an everyday option - but spending time out in the fascinating local towns durign the day and cooking in the evening is a good plan. Local nightlife is fascinating and around sunset you can watch the bats in the light from the illuminated pool!

Situated in a very peaceful area, Cherry Tree Trullo has been beautifully restored and modernised. The property is well equipped and has a lovely pool and outdoor seating areas. The owners could not have been more helpful and made our stay that bit more pleasurable. Highly recommended.

the trullo has been beautifully renovated and is extremely well equipped. Lovely swimming pool. Very rural location and therefore very quiet and peaceful. Definitely need a car as the nearest shops and resturants are about 15 minutes drive away.

We were so impressed with the trulli it had everything you could wish for and more, very remote yet only 10 minutes drive to Martina Franca which is a stunnung town it grew on us everytime we drove in. My children Lucy 6 and Harry 4 just loved the pool and enjoyed the barbys in the evening, also the horses which were just over our wall.
A big thanks to Madelaine and Jur who were suberb hosts very noligable on the area and always there to help with any probs also fantastic baby sitters.

Cherry Tree is a really lovely example of a trullo and the addition of a pool really makes this a great place for a relaxing holiday in the Val d'Itria.
The trullo is located about 500m down an unmade road and is in a VERY quiet, rural setting - ideal if you want to get away from it all. This area doesn't really seem to have villages, so the nearest amenities are in Martina Franca (approx 15 minutes drive). There are a couple of restaurants within a 10 minute drive - Paridiso di Puglia on the Alberobello road is good.
The property has only just been restored (we were the first guests!) so everything was pristine, co-ordinated & brand new, not the usual furniture cast-offs and crockery oddments often found in rental properties! The owners Madeleine & Jur have done a great job with this place and there was absolutely nothing more that we could have needed. Even pool/beach towels, hairdyer and a supply of charcoal for the BBQ were provided.
The pool is glorious, set away from the trullo in the garden and cherry orchard, and was cleaned every couple of days, very early in the morning without us even realising.
Madeleine & Jur live locally so are around if needed, but we prefer to be left in peace and this was respected.
The property can sleep 5, but in my opinion is suitable for a maximum party of 3 adults & 2 children.
