Property was superb, BUT we were thouroghly disappointed by the fact we only received transport for 7 people when when had booked for 10.
This meant we had to hire a 2nd vehicle incurring extra expense re. hire charge, petrol, ferry fares etc and the only other person with a driving licence in their possesion was an inexperienced driver who was very nervous about driving on the poor roads in the islands.
This has been taken up with Xlendi Tourism and Villa rentals who both blame each other.
If we had been advised beforehand it would have been an easier pill to follow

The recently converted terraced "villa" is one of a group of 3 formed from a farmhouse done in traditional stonework. The internal walls are all "natural" stone which is unsealed, so watch out for dust on clothes or items that come into contact! The rooms are large and all solid floors providing excellent sound proofing. Furnishings generally good quality and well presented. Beds were comfortable & good quality. Ceiling fans in all rooms & a large central ventilation shaft combine to keep the whole villa comfortable at temp of mid-30 deg. Kitchen facilities are limited and small gas oven/hob (typical even in large private properties as no mains gas) not realistic for large group or ambitious meals (we were 9) but large brick barbeque is available and eating out is anyhow reasonable and of general good quality. Downstairs living space was more than adequate for the 9 of us and extensive use of the patio from large diningroom/kitchen was very convenient as was adjoining washroom for changing. Satellite TV is limited for English channels once we worked out how to use but then it was never really needed! Franco, the owner, was always on hand quickly to deal with local wildlife (wasp nest) & other minor niggles. A good spring clean of the kitchen areas and some sealant around the TV wiring holes would also eliminate local wildlife interest. Missing utlilites (BBQ equipment) and chipped glasses were promptly replaced without question. Many thanks to Franco's mother who lives across the road for helping us dimwits with the washing machine. We could have done with more hangers for clothes and you really need to take your own towels for swimming. Loo seats were strangely a challenge and had a mind of their own despite best efforts to fix in place - suggest a more "permanent" solution is found! The pool and patio facilities were excellent & well maintained on a regular basis. We ran a check with some local Brits who visited on price and facilities and it seems we had a good value for money. Villa position in Xargher is excellent as all areas of island reachable in 30 mins. Strongly recomment you get air conditioned cars during summer. Ours were supplied by the agent (Xlendi Tourism) as part of the original order. Despite an initial problem with one car this again was quickly rectified by the very friendly and helpful agent. ick up to and from airport included in service and ran like clockwork from Valetta to ferry to Villa. Altogther a great 2 weeks.
