A lovely holiday in a lovely cottage. The property was well-maintained, containing everything possible you would need - the owners had thought of everything. Great location for walks around Ardmore and surrounding areas. The cottage is handy for local beaches and the nearby village. A very quiet, away from it all location. Would love to return - I have no hesitation in recommending the Fishermans cottage.

Fell in love the moment we opened the door. Facilities were excellent. Stairs not for the faint hearted, but otherwise I cannot fault this wonderful cottage. The area was magnificent, a little slice of Heaven on earth. I was a little worried that it was going to be too quiet for the children, but they absolutely loved it.

From the welcoming chocolate cookies to the great ambience, we truly enjoyed our time in the Fishermans Cottage. There was fire wood and turf waiting for us and lots of bedding and other supplies. The view was gorgeous, nice walks to the beach and the cliffs! We rented a car and found the cottage a great spot to tour Waterford and all of the surronding villages! Our main goal is to save up the funds to return next year! Ardmore is a wonderful community and we would definitely highly recommend this rental property. Thanks again Ron, Nuala and Maria! -

Dear little cottage, not the cleanest property weve ever stayed in and was very shabby throughout. However, the location was spot on, and the warning appropriate that it was only suitable for the fit and able.
All instructions on arrival ok, but nothing advised on leaving (rubbish, keys etc). We had a number for a housekeeper, but we didnt see or hear from anyone at all.
We had a great holiday and the property was good value.

The location of this property was superb, with two beaches within walking distance, one with amzing caves to explore. The property was very nice with all mod-cons. Although the stairs was steep, our youngest of 4 years had no problem with them. Locals were very friendly.

The property is in an excellent location, very close to the beach at Whiting Bay, with easy access to the main road that runs across the south of Ireland from Rosslare.
The property is clean and mostly well maintained, and the helpful messages, discretely written on the walls by the owners, are useful and create a welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms are a good size, with a double and a single bed in each. Adequate bedding was provided.
There were a couple areas where the cottage could easily be improved but none of these had a big impact on our holiday: the washing machine needed some attention and the shower was a little disappointing (especially in the absence of a bath). Also, a couple of the electric fires downstairs needed repairing/replacing.
One further point, which was not a problem for us in the slightest but may be for some visitors, was that the stairs were very narrow and steep.
However, having said these things, I would happily go back there and I woudld certainly recommend it to friends. Finally, I spoke to the owner briefly before our trip and found him to be helpful and friendly.

It was a nice and pleasant cottage with many equipment and at a perfect place. We have enjoyed the surroundings. All arrangements were made for our arrival. And instructions were good.
It was a bit hard to find the exact cottage, because the description is somewhat outdated, with many new houses around. The best indication would have been:"when you arrive almost at the valley bottom, you find after a leftward bend two double fishermens cottages on your left, while looking straigth towards a ruined one in front. The rented cottage is the first on the left."
Due to the narrow and steep stairs, the cottage is not fit for everyone.

My daughter, my 4 1/2 and 11 year old grandsons, and I had a WONDERFUL time in this delightful cottage that was everything we had hoped for. It was a short walk to the beach. We flew kites, skipped stones, found 4 leaf clovers and loved Ardmore's food store in the main square. It was great to have historic sites like the Round Tower and the stone ruins at the end of the path so close by. The steep stairs were challenging, but for me, at 71, they were fun.

The cottage was in an absolutely beautiful location - the only sound was birds and the sea - perfect! We loved the cosy feel of the cottage and felt comfortable there. We did find it a bit chilly at night though. However, location and scenery more than compensated for this minor inconvenience! We felt it was very good value for money. All mod cons were provided and the kitchen was very well stocked. Minor drawback - no hot running water, but again this was not a problem. We certainly hope to come again.
Owner reply:
Many thanks for your review of our cottage. Glad you enjoyed your stay in Ardmore, especially considering the inclement weather of Summer 2007. We have now further clarified the instructions for switching on the hot water in kitchen sink.

Fishermans Cottage is in a Lovely spot a short walk from the beach. Its a really cosy cottage with wonderful views. There was everything we needed there and it was very clean. The children were very comfortable and happy, even if the stairs were a little worring for us parents! (as they are steep) We will hopefully be returning next year.
