Lovely spacious house set in narrow village lane. Very well catered for with local shop near by for convenience. Comares is a delightful village full of jaw dro pping views of the Analucian mountains. Small bars and restaurants give it a good village feel. Strongly recommended for those who really do want to get away from it all, although you will need a car.

The property is a very spacious and intriguingly designed appartment with three bedrooms, two en-suite. Lots of stairs take you to different levels although I perhaps would not recommend it to families with very small children or elderly relatives. There is plenty of room on the roof balconey as well. The place is very generously equipped and much of what we brought with us was not needed. There is a friendly mini-market within a minutes walk and in the other direction the square offers some friendly bars and a breath taking view of the mountains. A little further down the mountain (a few minutes walk) are some restaurants and the village swimming pool which is open most of the time. You definately need a car for this holiday and expect to drive quite a lot. The nearest larger town in Velez Malaga which is approx 30 mins drive away. There there is a large supermarket and an Aqua park. During our stay we visited Malaga and Granada. Sevilla and Estepona are also possible to reach, although I would come prepared with some good maps and up to date travel guides as it is fairly easy to get lost. We can look back on this holiday with a lot of good memories; great scenary, friendly local people, good prices, peace and quiet and some fantastic weather as well. Thoroughly recommended!!

The location of Camares, an ancient Spanish mountain village, is spectacular. Just a few steps down from the house the town square offers a magnificent view of snow capped mountains and the Mediteranean sea. We explored the many well marked trails of variing lengthand difficulty that lead through olive groves, along steep hillsides and through wonderful valleys. It was easy to visit Grenada and Seville in day trips. The house was a pleasure to come home to. Spanish tiles and and the layout emphasized tradition while all modern conveniences were added during the restauration. We can't wait to return to Camares, taste more of it's local cuisine and enjoy the non-touristy, quiet athmosphere.
