The location of the property is excellent and views -amazing!I think the flat is perfect for 2 adults, not for 3 . The sofabed in the lounge is not suitable for sleeping and whoever has to sleep on it will end up waking up during the night (as the sofa creaks and groans) and feeling tired in the morning. The beach is a short walk and the nearest supermarket is only 5 minutes walk. Also both Yumbo and Cita centers are very close.

What a lovely little gem of a place in a fab location. We booked a last minute long weekend to escape the British snow. We were met by Steve who showed us around the apartment. It had everything we needed - especially the view of the sand dunes. The pool area is great. Take your cushion down from the apartment and collect a sunbed from the pile. Take it all back at the end of the day. The whole complex is kept meticulously clean by the pool man and the residents, who are mainly German and very friendly. The supermarket is less than 5 mins walk away. Linda was really helpful and made some great recommendations. All in all, a great stay.

What can I say other than the holiday we had in January 2013 was fantastic due to the apartment with its location to the beach being front line. The welcome and service was first class, which made our stay evan more better and would recomend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to stay. The apartment was very clean with the standard of equipment and bedding first class. The pool & gardens were kept clean & maintained to a very high standard, given the location close to the beach with the sand that gets blown around from the wind, however this was not a problem with the apartment being sheltered from the wind making sun bathing from 11am till 5pm on the balcany every day, which was an added bonus not having to hire sun beds on the beach at 7 euros for two with sun shade. There are two supermarkets less than 5mins walk that supply everything you need including fress meat, veg, bread etc. The Yumbo centre is within 15mins strool with lots of bars & entertainment within 5mins walk away. The view of the sand dunes was first class and very easy to access the beach area from the steeps just outside the gardens at the front of the apartment complex, which is small & exclusive due to the location, making this apartment one of the best we have had in many years of holidaying at this time of the year.

Thank you Steve and LInda for a nice welcome and Steve for looking after our luggage after we had checked out to let us go for some brunch. Slainte!

Very cosy and clean. Feels like a a home away from home. The view is great. Pool and generally the property is kept clean, garden looks nice and everything is well maintained. Literally a straight walk to the beach. But need to go down stairs and cross car park. Not a problem as you can stop at spar to buy some drink/food and lie on the beach the whole day. Local beach "hamacas" a bit dated - but price is good and is very pleasant. The area has allot of German and Swedish tourists. So locals use signs in German and speak better German than English. Holiday was 8/10

Owner reply:
Thanks Piotr - glad you found the apartment very cosy and clean and enjoyed the fantastic views.
We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Thanks for the recommendation. We are pleased that you found the location and accommodation to be excellent and hope you stay with us again.

Ideally located for all amenities. Comfortable accommodation, only negative comments would be that the locks on both inner and outer patio doors need attention (dont lock securely and the outer one difficult to drag across) and a fan would have been welcome in the living area ( I had asked about one with Linda in an earlier email), other than that very pleasant.

Owner reply:
David,
Thanks for the positive comments - we are glad you found the accommodation comfortable and well located. We are sorry that the fan was not supplied on arrival - but our reps pride themselves on responding to calls promptly (just call the local rep's mobile number given with the arrival instructions and you will get a very quick response, save that we ask that after 8pm this number is used for emergencies only to respect their privacy). We have recently purchased a new fan which will be made available on request). As you will have noticed we have installed a ceiling fan in the bedroom which works at three different speeds and keeps it cool if we get Sahara like temperatures!
As for the doors - it's rather important to us to state that these were checked immediately after your comments and we take the issue of security very seriously (and of course we stay there ourselves - it is our second home so we would not leave doors needing attention. The balcony doors are shown in the photos. For security we have not just one but two - even though we are on the first floor, not the ground floor, so access from the balcony would be very unlikely anyway. The internal (glass lattice) set of doors are lighter and move easily. The outer set of doors are (for security) heavy metal doors (also lattice, matching the inner doors but without glass). Both have unusual Canarian style locks (found all over the island) which are demonstrated to you on arrival. But we can assure you they work perfectly and are completely secure. The outer doors are heavy by their nature, but we usually leave WD40 under the sink (or ask the reps) which will help if there is a Kalima (when the breeze blows in from the Sahara and a little sand may cause the doors to become heavier during your stay).
Kind regards
Ian

Absolutely brilliant. Superb view, well kitted out, cool, overlooks pool , quiet and beach 5 mins to restaurants and beech, 10 into town. Would go again like a shot. The complex is very popular with Germans who seem to look after the pool, plants and enforce rigorous poolside etiquette so scuzzy brits like us may get a talking to............ Seriously though very nice place.

Just returned from two weeks in apt.excellent location to beach and good access to prom.apt as described.excellent views of sand dunes! stunning views to wake up to!! Shops close by and jumbo centre 10 min walk.excellent communication with Lynda and Steve.arranged private transfer recommended by Lynda, I think Steve said it was his sons company. Met at the airport with a limousine, very nice driver friendly and chatty.highly recommend using the company. Steve met us at the apt, very friendly and helpful. Lynda always only a phone call away.weather amazing this time of year. New bathroom was to be installed and new cutlery as I remember Steve stating on our departure, needs the cutlery and a fan for the living area, found out on departure one was available, so i wish se had asked, didnt disrupt us being without though.Nice quiet safe area, great security .21 apt residential block with no one to bother you, make a world of difference. Apt clean, spacious ,comfy,. Good size balcony. Apart from the two elderly residents who dipped in the pool twice daily for 10minutes, we had the pool to ourselves for the two weeks , heated pool excellent. Very nice caretaker keeps pool and areas spotless. 10th year to g/c, shall return next year. Steve saw us off at the apt, which i think is a nice touch to the end of your holiday.Highly recommend the apartment . We shall be booking up again for this apt. Thanks to Steve and Lynda. See you next year.!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ians apartment in Playa del Ingles. The apartment was exactly as described on the website (hence found I couldnt say it exceeded expectations - but it did entirely match our high expectations). In early February the balcony was a great place to be - sunny from 11am to 5pm and the wall to the east protected it totally from the wind. We had a couple of very windy but sunny days when we were sitting in our swinwear on the balcony watching people on the coastal path in front battle along in their fleeces, cagools and hats and also the sandstorms whipping across the dunes. Other than these days though the weather was sunny and warm and we really enjoyed touring the island in the afternoons and evenings. The location of the apartment is great and although there are 90 steps down from the coastal path to the beach car park and the restaurants below, there is an alternative set of steps with a ramp albeit rather steep a hundred metres or so to the right. There is a supermarket and restuarant development a short walk behind, and the Yumbo Centre is about 15 minutes relatively leisurely (and comparatively flat) stroll. This means there are literally hundreds of restaurants and bars of all specialities within a short walk. We did however enjoy preparing our own breakfast and lunch in the apartment. Linda and Steve were most welcoming hosts, awaiting our arrival and seeing us off to the airport. The apartment had been very well cleaned (despite the previous occupants leaving it in a bit of a state and damaging some of the cooking equipment - replaced while we were there) and we had no other maintenance issues. We also appreciated the items left by Linda and Steve (such as bottled water, milk, teas and coffee etc) to help get us get established. This was our first visit to Gran Canaria and all in all we wouldnt wished to stay anywhere else in Playa del Ingles. Highly recommended!

The apartment was as we expected. It is in a superb location. Close to the beach and to the Jumbo Centre but far enough to make the location quiet and relaxing. The swimming pool was clean and most of the time we could have had it for ourselves. The descriptions in the advertisement were accurate. We had all the required facilities plus lots of books to read and DVDs to watch (although we did not have time to watch TV at all). We can summarise the holidays were very relaxing and enjoyeable. If we had one critisism we would say that the apartment could do with a slightly deeper cleaning of the kitchen and batchroom between lettings. We have already recommended the apartment to several friends and we will continue to do so.

The property was very clean and nicely furnished with plenty of hot water for showers plus a fan in the bedroom which made it comfortable in the heat of October. We had a great holiday and the entertainment at the bars was great fun as they had tribute bands every night at the Roma Bar. We spent our days on the beach as it was too hot to stay by the pool and the comfort from home to home made it very relaxing for us. We loved it so much and now prefer self catering rather than a 5 star hotel as you can dress casually all the time and this apartment did all this for us. We loved it so much that we are booking again for October next year.

Our third stay in this small but perfectly placed apartment. Its all about the location for this property and it doesnt disappoint. Away from the main tourist resorts but close enough to walk anywhere in Playa del Ingles - and the views from the balcony are wonderful. The apartment complex is quiet and respectful of others which adds to a really relaxing holiday. Thanks again to the owner Ian, and Lynda and her husband who manage the property out there - we wouldnt come to Gran Canaria and stay anywhere else.

From previous visits to GC I would rate this as one of the best of its type, and superior to most, in its location, the standard and quality of its furnishing and equipment, house-keeping and the welcome on arrival. Basically everything you are likely to need. Like most others it is not spacious – 2 large & 1 small at most: 3 large rugby types definitely not! The fantastic view of the dunes and beach shown in the pics are as good in reality – but take note of the many steps that need to be negotiated to get down/up. Pool and surrounds OK, and protected from the wind. NB No direct sunshine on balcony in summer. You burn in the shade then anyway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the property met with our expectations. The people there were friendly although it was perhaps a bit too quiet for us. Very easy access to the beach and a stunning view of the sea and dunes. There is not a great deal of space to sunbathe around the pool and if it was busy I would imagine this could be an issue. Overall we were very happy.

We booked this apartment against others for two reasons: the view and the equipment as described on the site. For this we were prepared to pay a higher price than for competing properties. However, on arrival we were disappointed by the equipment. The "cooker" turned out to be a four-burner hob. The reference to a "freezer" seemed to be to an ice-making compartment of the fridge, which we had to defrost since it didnt close properly. Less importantly, the "clothes drier" was not an electric machine but a portable clothes horse - not a problem in the Canaries climate, but not what we normally understand by a "drier". This all reflected fittings that were a little defective. The extractor fan over the hob was not working, nor was the one in the bathroom. The excellent security grille onto the balcony could not close properly because the lock needed attention. A light bulb was missing from the central light fitting in the sitting-room. There was a smell of drains intermittently from the bathroom. As a result, we had a slight feeling of being ripped off. This was perhaps enhanced by the fact that the towels we were given on arrival appeared so stained that we had to rewash them immediately, and that when we pointed things out to Steve, the agents husband (we never saw Lynda) he simply said "I dont know" and was clearly not going to do anything. A pity, since the apartment itself is nice and the location excellent. The clothes storage in the bedroom is good and the block itself attractive. Just brush up your German!

Owner reply:
Antony,
Im pleased that you liked the apartment and thought the location was excellent. This is the first negative review Ive had in four years of renting the property. I have replied in more detail, but have to respond on here as your review is rather misleading. As explained, my excellent local rep was forced to fly to the UK shortly before your arrival due to a sudden family bereavement. I immediately arranged cover for your stay and my reps husband stayed behind in Gran Canaria to ensure that you had rep service during this difficult time. The security gate was fixed immediately afterwards, and the opportunity was taken to effect a number of repairs. As for the description of the equipment, the website is created by answering a series of tick box questions and everything was as described. I note that you paid a rate of £14 per person per night for the property and whilst you may have found a slightly cheaper rate in noisier parts of Playa del Ingles, I am confident you would not find a cheaper rate for an apartment with a fine sea view. I hope you understand that we worked hard behind the scenes in difficult circumstances to ensure your holiday was not disrupted. Regards, Ian (the owner)

Well situated, nice view, steps to beach a bit daunting. Overhead fan would be useful as it gets very hot and bedroom needs ventilation. Very clean and Lynda and Steve helpful. TV impossible to understand. The safe is essential bur suggest you change the code from time to time as the keypad is worn through constant repetition. N.B. The gate/sliding door locks are worn and easily opened by gentle tugging.Suggest you replace both door and gate.

Owner reply:
Thanks, David, glad you had a good holiday. There are full TV instructions available in the apartment, but Lynda will always help out with any queries. I should point out for the benefit of others that there are two sets of sliding doors to the balcony: one set of metal security doors, which is very secure and the other set of glass doors, to which you refer (which has been repaired). As for the steps, a good tip if you dont want to use the steps immediately in front of the apartment to come back from the beach is to use the disabled access ramps up to the promenade, located a a couple of minutes further along the promenade. Regards, Ian

Absolutely stunning views from Balcony and excellent quiet location though only short walks to all the major centres (Yumbo, Kasbah, Cita etc) and a very short walk (though a lot of steps) to the front with all its Cafes and Bars. This is our 4th time on the Island and this has definitely been the best location by far. The apartment has everything you could need including a good sized fridge and a washing machine (a godsend after a day of off road buggying!). One note - the hot water tank is relatively small and although enough for two quick showers if you let her go in first its worth waiting 15-20mins to let the water heat up again! Would highly recommend this apartment and we will be looking to book again when we come back.

Apartment was exactly what we expected. It was in a very central position for both the beach and the various commercial centres. Secure entry was very reassuring but there was absolutely no disturbances or bother anywhere around the apartment while we were there. The views are stunning and we had a week of cloudless skies which was the icing on the cake. Would definitely return, as it was very good value for money.

We enjoyed our stay very much, and whilst being small the apartment has everything you need, and the description on the website is very accurate. The complex is very secure, and the swimming pool very ‘refreshing’ !!! Whilst we were there the electric went in our apartment, but it was dealt with very efficiently by the agent Lynda, and the owner (this was on a Sunday night too) - which was very reassuring.

Excellent location and the view was the best. The wasing machine was suberb and there were all the amenities required for a great holiday. Very good service from local representative, thanks to Lynda. Suitable for couples. We were 3 women over 50 and still friends after two weeks although I think it was a little too small for us, we were missing own beds for everyone. The dblbed in bedroom was very very good to sleep but the sofabed unfortunately was not so goog to sleep for 2 weeks. The sofa creaks and groans still every time it is sat on and sleep on. However we loved this place with all the amenities required for a great holiday. Thank you we had a Great holiday!! Brgds Soili

The location of this property is perfect, the view from the balcony is just beautiful, it is peacefull and quiet just as it was advertised. The ameneties were good, however, there were a couple of things that need attention Ian. The sofa creeks and groans every time it is sat on and is not comfortable (needs replacement). In your write up it was quoted that there was dvd and cd playing facilities so we brought some cds, only to find that there was no cd playing apparatus and when trying to use DVDs the sound on the television simply dissappeared. I hope you will regard this as constructive critisism because dispite this we had a wonderful holiday and loved the apartment. Kindest regards, Terry & Doreen England

I stayed at the apt back in March. All of the reviews here are quite accurate. Being by the water and sand dunes, but close enough to the action, is what really makes it so attractive. A well appointed, quiet place. You could not ask for more!

Owner reply:
Very kind of you to log in to add your review and good to hear from you. Look forward to welcoming you from California in the near future. Regards, Ian

The apartment was beautiful with all the amenities required for a great holiday ( washing machine was a god send) The views were the best ive seen, and it was like opening the doors to the Sahara desert each moring. The location was superb, about a 5 min walk from the promanade. Theres a shop about 2 mins from the apartment, but its steep walk downstairs (u'll get used to them) Theres a new restaurant, which opened about 2 weeks before we got there next to the shop called "il diavolo", its italian and the food is lovely. We ate there about 5 or 6 times, and we were lucky that our fave restaurant of all was on our door step! Would definately return to the apartment!

Owner reply:
Thanks very much Louise. Glad to hear the new restaurant on the beachfront was your favourite. Regards, Ian

I had a really fantastic holiday, the weather was very good. The position of the apartment is very good as the beach is very close and so the supermarket. The pool in the residence has been very relaxing as no many people were about. The apartment is basic and clean. The arrangments with Vicky and the agent was good and they have been very helpful. Thank you we had a Great holiday!! Lorena

Owner reply:
Thanks for your review, Lorena. Like yourself, a lot of guests seem to like the fact that sometimes you seem to have the pool and complex to yourself. Regards, Ian

We stayed at the apartment for ten days in February 2007 and were lucky to hit unbroken sunshine after a spell of bad weather. The apartment is well situated for a beach holiday, a few minutes (steep) walk to Maspolomas Sands, with a small but well-maintained pool/garden and a small (again) balcony enjoying full sun from 11 - 5 at this time of year and wonderful views to the Sands. The other apartments were all apparently occupied by elderly Germans: not a problem but worth bearing in mind and a splendid opportunity to practise German. The same applies to Playa del Ingles as a whole. Internally the apartment is well appointed, with a good wireless and DVD player. The TV offers Sky/CNN News but no other English language channels. It is well situated for shops, restaurants, with good street parking. The nearest bus stop is about 7 minutes walk distant.

Owner reply:
Thanks for the review, Robert. We look forward to welcoming you and all our other previous guests again soon. Regards, Ian

A lovely apartment in a fantastic location, close to amenities (Shopping centres and beach areas), yet in a very quiet residential cul-de-sac. Views out over the dunes are spectacular. Most residents in this small complex appear to be permanent, so there is a neighbourly feel to the place. Security is good with a locked gate into the grounds. Pleasant balcony gets afternoon sun. Pool is lovely and very quiet. Didn't have to share with anyone at all during our stay. Felt like our own place!

Owner reply:
Thanks Rich - glad you enjoyed your stay and got plenty of winter sunshine. Regards, Ian

Great location for people who want a lazy holiday. Excellent views of the sand dunes and sea. The grounds of the apartment are well maintained and very clean. We would certainly return

Thanks Tracy - glad you enjoyed your holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Ian
