My partner and I had a fantastic week at Tal-Barun. The farmhouse had everything we wanted and more and the location was perfect, very peaceful but close to all amenities. We were very impressed by the standard of the accommodation and the master bedroom, especially, was better than most hotels we have stayed at in the UK and abroad.
The only advice I would give to anyone booking would be that, although not necessary, it was very useful to have a hire car during our stay. This is not too much of a problem as car rental prices in Malta are extremely reasonable.
We would definitely visit Gozo again and would not hesitate to go back to Tal-Barun, we have already recommended it to all of our friends and family!

The hosts are very friendly, charming and helpful people. Their farmhouse has a great location for those who want to stay away from the crowds and still be very close (walking distance) to some great sight seeing spots and a city. As for the house it is beautifuly renovated and its interiors are extraordinary. Last but not least there were the mobile shops (goods selled from the cars) - they stopped by the hose every morning with a choice of fresh fish, bread, fruits and vegetables.

Lovely renovated farmhouse in a small friendly village . Excellent restaurant 3 minutes walk from house which we used regularly. The house is very well equiped with everything you need for self catering. Outdoor space is on the roof and has a barbecue, table, chairs, loungers and a small kitchen. The pool is in a small courtyard off the main kitchen. The owners have worked hard to make the house and outside space attractive. Gozo is ideal if you want a relaxed holiday. It is very rural and harks back to a Malta 40 years ago. A car is essential although many people use the local buses. The bus stop is about 30 metres from the house.

We had a wonderful week staying at this quiet, quaint farmhouse. The welcome and service delivered by the owners was second to none. From the greeting at the airport, detour for gorgeous ice cream before getting to the farmhouse set off our holiday perfectly. The accommodation itself is wonderful and quirky, full of character. We spent most of our evenings enjoying BBQ's on the roof terrace, which for us was the best point about the house. Watching sunsets after busy days exploring the island was fab.
Gozo is a must for those wanting a true get away, and this is the place to stay!! Thinking about it just makes me want to go back :-)

Me and my family spent a wonderful three weeks at the Tal-Barun farmhouse.
You really do have to see it to appreciate the warmth and splendor. Full of
nooks and crannies and adorned with wonderful decorative items this really is
a home away from home.
The owners are fantastic people as warm as the climate with an excellent
philosophy toward customer service that no other stay has matched. This really
is a special place and will stay in our hearts forever. Writing this review has
brought back some great memories. I would not hesitate to recommend
staying!

My partner and I spent the most fantastic week in Tal Barun back in mid March !
The house was absolutely beautiful, very very romantic and you could tell the efforts the Borg family put into making it the beautiful relaxing retreat it is !
We had absolutely everything that could be needed, if not more, and could have done with an extra week for enjoy the all house ! We specially enjoy the roof terrace for long breakfast every day, the panoramic view of this part of the island was fantastic and we have been blessed by the weather, though the nights were still cold. They were flowers everywhere between the courtyard, the balcony and the roof terrace, and it was a delight to wake up in the beautiful master bedroom with the sun light on the limestone, just hearing the small waterfall noise of the swimming pool in the courtyard !
The area was really quiet and having done most of the island with the car or by feet, the surrounding of San Lawrenz were I think, one of the most beautiful with plenty of walks from the house, the perfect spot where to stay in Gozo !
I must thanks specially Anna and Marvik who have been fantastic hosts, taking great care of our well being as guests, showing great availability and flexibility !
I hope we will have the occasion to come back some day, its with great nostalgy that we remember these holidays where we felt at home !
Greetings from Ireland from Delphine & Gavin

Tal-Barun is a great place to stay, clean and tidy with all the space 2 adults and 3 big kids need ! Marvic, Anna and family were great hosts, always availble on the phone if we needed support and St Lawrenz is a good base - although Gozo is so small, nothing is more than 20mins away.

The farmhouse had everything we could possibly need. The owner (Marvick Borg) gave us a map and a list of suggested places to visit. We used the list and managed to visit most of the island. We enjoyed the excellent weather and the village of San Lawrenz was very welcoming. A car is essential to get round the island but driving is very easy (they drive on the left hand side) and there are no parking charges. I fell in love with Gozo and will definitely return to one of Marvicks farmhouses. We were picked up from the airport which made the arrival stress free.

This is a stunning villa with wonderful views from a large roof terrace. A very old solid stone property built over several floors with authentic decorations within. The villa is very quiet and nicely relaxing. The property is extremely well equipped, clean, tidy, well presented and ideally located. We had never been to Malta or Gozo before but found the villa very easy to get to and find from Malta International Airport. The villa owners were genuinely very interested to ensure that our stay met our expectations. Their communication from the point of booking through to actual arrival was very sincere and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning at some stage and would highly recommend this villa to anybody else. You will have a fabulous and enjoyable stay and certainly will not be disappointed.

It was our second time to Gozo and we definitely weren’t disappointed. Thank you so much for a great holiday. The house was beautiful and we enjoyed our trips out. We enjoyed visiting places such as Victoria and Xlendi. We loved eating out at restaurants which were not far. Overall our holiday was a pleasure.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We can’t add much to the wonderful detail and helpful information and thoughts left by earlier visitors – but although we were only here for 3 days after a week in Malta we have loved Tal-Barun on Gozo and hope to return.
Thank you so much Marvik, Victoria and Joseph for making everything so easy and so enjoyable!

We had an amazing time staying at Tal-Barun. The villa is beautifully decorated and cared for, we loved the roof terrace for bbq's and lazing by the pool in the courtyard. The village of San Lawrenz is a lovely place to stay with the amazing Dweija bay close by and an amazing resturant around the corner in the church square - recommended!
Marvik and family ensured our stay was relaxed and everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend this villa for a holiday!

"Thank you, Marvic, for a wonderful, wonderful holiday in beautiful Tal Barun in San Lawrenz. We had an idyllic week, with two days of rain where we were secretly pleased to be able to relax and enjoy the villa! Although I have only stayed at Tal Barun, I will happily highly recommend all of your farmhouses judging by the superb quality at Tal Barun. We look forward to our next visit!"
