A very comfortable and tastefully restored property with helpful owners and good information.
We consider 10 Euros per day for heating to be excessive and the kitchen lacked a microwave - the only negative factors

My husband and I have returned from a two week stay at Villa Bastiola in Umbria, Italy. Everything was fabulous! The apartment was equipped nicely and was very clean. The hosts, Sally Ann and Marco, were very helpful and charming. The whole vacation was top notch. I would highly recommend the Villa Bastiola.

Beautifully refurbished property of great character and charm set high on a hillside overlooking a wonderful and typically Umbrian view of olive groves, wooded hills, vineyards, fields and cypresses. Good location within easy distance of Lake Trasimeno, Perugia, Gubbio, Arezzo and Cortona. There is a shady balcony for meals al fresco and a sunny terrace to sit and enjoy the sunset. Only 200 yards away is a friendly and good-value restaurant popular with locals. Owners Sally Ann and Marco, who are friendly and welcoming, live upstairs so are on hand for any queries. This is the working countryside so dont expect silence - neighbours have dogs for instance - but unless you are a very light sleeper you will not find it a problem. Overall this is an excellent choice and very good value for money.

"We loved our stay in Umbria, including all of your comprehensive selec tions to visit and explore. Your home is gracious and complete for a couple who have never spent more than a week or two in one holiday venue. We found everything we needed here as our center in Umbria. Thank you for making this home our home. We hope to see you again for another adventure."

"We hugely enjoyed our stay. We have holidayed in many self catering properties over the years in Italy, France and Crete, but Villa Bastiola hits the highest standard in terms of decoration, bathrooms, kitchen etc... the bathrooms are immaculate and fitted out beautifully.
The kitchen is exactly how one would want to have it at home with everything that one needs - toaster, coffee, blender, pots, pans and knives - obvious stuff but very often missing or poor quality. You have managed to do it all to a fantastic standard and also provide a helpful basic supply of food stuffs in the kitchen and washing powders etc... Things like the internet connection and Sky Tv are excellent.
Setting wise, fantastic views and the patio is a great place to relax and read the books from the library. Lots of tourist materials, including a very detailed map of the area. Beautiful flowers and lavender.
All in all a huge attention to detail which we hope your other guests appreciate. Surely there cannot be that many properties that hit this standard?"

We had a wonderful holiday at the apartment at Villa Bastiola in this beautiful part of Umbria. The luxury accommodation is what it says, luxury. Everything has been thought of for the comfort of the guests, with some thoughtful touches. The atmosphere is restful and relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. The owners are a delightful couple who are friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home. They are full of information about the local area and further afield, if you want to visit Florence or Sienna etc. They can also recommend good local restaurants - there is fabulous restaurant 5 minutes walk away famous for the best pizzas in the area! The views from the Villa are amazing, over the surrounding hills to the mountains beyond. You can see why Umbria is called the green heart of Italy. We will certainly be returning for another visit.
