Peter & Jane,
What can we say? Alison and I had a great two weeks at Villa Hunter. For us it was just what the doctor ordered. All your recommendations were spot on but we have to admit we didn't do all of them. For us a holiday is about doing nothing (mind you Alison would have me walk around every heritage site going if she could), reading laying by the pool or beach, sipping a beer or three and just chilling. This ticked the boxes. We went to the beach a few days but really, the pool at the Villa was so inviting, why bother with all that waiting for the air conditioning in the car to cool it down enough to get in when you can just sit in peace right there.
The villa was immaculate when we arrived, very stylishly decorated and furnished. It had everything we needed, it's very beautiful and you've done a fine job to make it not only feel like a home from home but a very tasteful one at that.
The local restaurants were really good but we saved the best until last, "The Last Castle". What a place!!! We couldn't believe it because we had driven right past it the first week and never saw it. That drive is unbelievable, you just keep going along that beach road (actually more beach than road), when we saw the sign for the restaurant we were shocked because having gone to the beach where the Turtles lay their eggs the week before, we just didn't see it. If you're not looking out for it, you would never know it was there. The food was simple and tasty the BBQ lamb had a flavour to die for.
We will return soon, we love to travel to different places but for us, this would be a great place to chill for a week and get away from the cold of England. I have told quite a few friends about Villa Hunter so hopefully that will keep you going for the next few years.
Thanks again for all your comments, advice and information on the Villa, Cyprus, directions and everything, it really helped us to settle in quickly and therefore relax, which is what it’s all about.
Chris & Alison
