We had a truly wonderful, relaxed holiday at this property. All the other reviewers are right, it was better than described. The owners gave just enough attention without intruding and it was a comfort knowing they were always available. We enjoyed cycling the "Voie Verte" (Green Way) that starts in Mauron itself as well as visiting nearby towns like Josselin, the Forest near Paimpont and even a day trip to Vannes. The cottage itself was perfect and the extended gardens with badminton net a real treat.

We were not sure what to expect really, the reviews were all good but you never know... However, we were delighted with the house, the garden and everything about the property. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 infant. The garden is very safe, clean and spacious, it was superb. The pictures dont do it justice. David and Pat were helpful but did not intrude. The house is near to a small town, Mauron, which has everything you would need. Further afield we enjoyed Vannes, Ploermel and Josselin. (hope spellings ok, not checked!!).

We stayed at Vue deglise for a week in mid august 2011. The property was everything we expected from previous reviews and more. On arriving, after a long road trip, we were greated by the owners Pat and Dave who were very friendly and welcoming, this was a characteristic that continued throughout the week. They were always on hand if needed but they were never intrusive. Vue deglise is set in a tranquil location, very peaceful, an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the UK. However there is lots to do in the area should you wish a day out. The gite is a very good size and very well equiped boasting extras such as a video and dvd player, books and board games etc which all make life a little bit easier when the weathers not particularly kind. The gardens are fantastic, they are a very good size, the kids loved the fact that they were split into different levels and had hours of fun playig hide and seek. The tree swing and badmington net/court were also a big hit with the kids. The picture of the pool does not do it justice -it is in fact much bigger than it appears in the photo. Again this was another big hit with the kids. We only booked one week and spent a second week with Eurocamp as I thought the kids may be a little board in a gite. In fact they hated Eurocamp and both prefered Vue deglise (children are 10 +12). Would definitly recommend. Well worth the money

Having already read the positive reviews before booking Vue dEglise, we knew that it was going to be a lovely place and we werent disappointed. The gite was clean, spacious and well equipped, the pool was bigger than expected and the garden was huge! Pat and Dave were there for us when we needed them but left us to it when we didnt which was just right for us. Brittany is a beautiful place and well worth a visit. Not only were we able to see all these wonderful towns, villages and forests but we had the added bonus of going back to this wonderful property at the end of the day.

The pictures and details do not do this place justice! Downstairs is a HUGE kitchen with farmhouse table which seats 8 more than comfortably. The lounge has a corner sofa and another sofa.
Downstairs there is a massive bedroom with sofa and upstairs a childrens room big enough for 3 bed a cot and a sofa! The master bedroom upstairs is beamed with pretty windowseat and feature bed.
Outside is MASSIVE!! A garden outside the door with big outdoor table (where we ate all our meals) leading to more secluded area with pool and sun loungers. The pool was big enough for our kids to enjoy two lilos and a mini dinghy in!! They loved it and were in it everyone day but because its all locked in its very safe so we could send them out to play with no worries. Wander down the hedge and there is a big grass garden with badminton net, slide and swings (and a kite to fly!)
Lots of toys for the children in the house and garden and lots of DVDs, videos and books. All very well equipped (and lots of towels and places to dry them - handy with the pool)
To be honest we cant say too much about the area as we rarely left the house and garden- but from the leaflets etc there is plenty to do come rain or shine from markets and churches to maize mazes and bike trains!
An absolute bargain and a very relaxing holiday for adults - with lots to keep the kids amused.

Lovely, spacious accomodation with everything that you copuld possibly need. Owners available if you need them, extemely helpful and friendly. The gardens are fabulous, masses of private, own use space, plenty of rackets, balls etc, and even your own field which is perfect for kite flying!
Ideally located to reach north and south coast in about one hour, but beautiful lake with beach, watersports etc only 15miutes down the road.
Local restaurants within walking distance and very good. Local supermarket well equipped.
Fantastic property, loads of outsdoor space, ideal for families large or small!

We had an excellent time in the gite. It was well equipped with everything that we needed; washing machine, mircowave, cooker etc. The views from the house were fantastic, fields all around and you could see the church in the town. It was in an excellent location for visting places such as Vannes, Rennes and Dinan. The owners were lovely, very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. It was excellent value for money, the garden was perfect for relaxing and having a bbq. I would go back no question and I recommend it to both families and couples.

Really lovely property adjoining owners property. Beautiful gardens with lots for children including tree swings, bike, football area, badmington and solar powered pool at great depth for kids so no worries about safety. In a quiet rural setting - good touring base or just place to get waway and completely relax. Lovely lake and beach within 15 minutes and town 2 minutes with traditional French shops and restaurant / cafes plus large supermarket for all your needs.
Would highly recommend to others - we had a fab time and found the owners very welcoming, hospitable and helpful!

The property was as expected from the details shown - it is comfortable and the gardens and views are wonderful. It is an ideal property for anyone who likes the peace and quiet of the countyside. Mauron itself is only a short distance away and caters well from everday shopping with a few restaurants, bars and small shops. The seaside towns are an hours drive away but we managed to find the lake/beach near Ploermel which is only a 15 minute drive and well worth a visit, follow the signs for 'lac de duc' on the right just before Ploemel. Pat and Dave made us most welcome and were on hand for any questions we had. Well worth a visit.

If you are looking for a holiday where you want to experience the rural french countryside on your doorstep, then this is the ONE!!!! We had a lovely time, everything a family could need was catered for in the property, even games to play, videos to watch and some very good books to read. Beeches are not that far away from the property and what's nicer than going exploring in a country foreign in every sence. We absolutely loved the holiday and will definitely consider it for next year!!!!!!
