What a superb choice ! Everything about El Capricho is better than you can ever want for. The villa itself is absolutely charming and have so many nice details. The garden is very very big and beautyfully planted, with a lawn so big our two teenage boys spent quite a few hours playing football !
And the gorgeous swimmingpool is the biggest weve ever seen on a private property. The pool alone is a reason to rent this villa! Depth of 2,5 metres made it excellent for diving. What a treat!!
Not to mention the views: 180 degrees of Fuengirola coastline. We spent the evenings on the top terrace with the fantastic oustanding view - how can you not want to look at this forever?
Mijas is the most charming town one can ever imagine. A very good range of restaurants and the shops had pretty merchandise - not the usual tacky touristy things you find in the towns by the coastline. The view from Mijas is the absolutely prettiest you can dream of.
I recommend going to the charming English restaurant "Carob" up the hill between the villa and Mijas. We enjoyed the huge portions of good food and their fantastic service.
I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous villa. Can we come back? Please!?

Very nice view over Fuengirola city and the sea.
Beautiful flowers and property surroundings.
Outdoor barbeque and fully equipped kitchen provided.
We were welcomed with 2 juices and 2 milk boxes in the fridge, for the rest you can go buy groceries in the Lidl market 10-15 minutes down the hill (open until 20.45 in the evening).
The villa is situated on a beautiful hill in the Rancho de la Luz area.
You must bring your own stack of toilet paper, there was only 1 roll in each bathroom. Towels are provided, also for the swimming pool.
Warm temperature by end December - 14-20 Celsius degrees.
Housekeepers/administrators live a few properties down the hill, are there whenever you need them.
Watch the electricity usage.Too much simultaneous use of power and stormy weather combined make the electricity dro p. But there are outside and inside electric panels where you can turn the switches very quickly back on.
All in all it was very nice, we enjoyed the warm weather and beautiful surroundings, we visited nearby cities, Gibraltar, Granada, Sevilla, Malaga. Hopefully well be coming again soon.

We arrived at the villa at 2.00 am - there was no toilet roll in any of the toilets - 7 of us in the party - this needs to be addressed, it would have been useful to have know this in advance so we could have brought our own the owner was aware of our late arrival, This was inconvenient to say the least.
There were issues with the water pump but these were resolved with the local manager - this seems to be a reoccurring problem for villa users and also needs to be resolved so that villa renters can enjoy the property without worrying about the water situation. Or at least making villa users aware so that they dont panic!
There was no table tennis as the table is broken. Otherwise the villa was fine and the views are stunning.
Owner reply:
Thank you for your feedback, which is very important for us in order to improve our services and give our guests what they want to experience.
I have phoned the different parties involved and can only apologise for the inconveniences you encountered whilst staying at the villa.
The cleaning lady had indeed forgotten to ensure there were toilet rolls in each bathroom and the rain had tripped the switch, which ensures normal water supply to the house. Also, the descriptive of the villa had not been changed to reflect the fact that we are no longer have table tennis facilities. The terrain at the villa is such as when these big tables are moved around they get easily damaged: the experience of the last 2 made us revise its availability to guests.
Please accept my apologies and hope that will you only retain the good things experienced at El Capricho.

we may have been spoilt in all the other villas we have used, but this villa was not cleaned well nothing was available in the way of cleaning materials 1 toilet roll between 4 toilets no rubbish bags we had to buy everything and i mean everything from scatch a little disappointing, the villa its self is close to beautiful villages and beaches and has spectacular views a car is a must, a great place to chill out would recommend it.
Owner reply:
Thank you for your comments. These are very valuable to me. I have relayed these to the cleaning lady and the house manager.
You were in fact the first guests to come for a weekend only and your feedback has made me realise that the villa is in fact not organised for a serviced stay.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience you encountered - I will endevour to ensure a different type of service for such short stays in the future.

We have just returned after a fabulous two week stay at the El Capricho. The Villa is about 1Km walk from Mijas village and is walkable although rather steep. We would recommend car hire especially to fetch the shopping. The views from the Villa are breathtaking.
The Villa has all the amenities that you need for your stay and we would certainly recommend this to our friends.
Thanks for a very enjoyable holiday

What a holiday!! El Capricho was superb in every possible way! The location was just perfect for a quiet family holiday, yet central enough for sightseeing and easy for shopping, bars and restaurants. The views were breathtaking!! The villa itself was very well equipped and more than catered for our partys needs. It was spacious, immaculately clean and well furnished. The owner couldnt have been more helpful with our enquiries and I would highly recommend Lucas car hire ( local to Mijas) who collected us from the airport, supplied hire car and brought us to the airport upon our return. His service was superb. I would also recommend having the pool heated....it was worth every penny! We have already recommended el capricho to friends and we are hoping to return again soon! Thanks Christine!

Rental experience of El Capricho was very good.
House was well laid out and of sufficient size for 10 people to be comfortable in.
All rooms were made up with fresh linen and the house was clean. Kitchen was a decent size and well stocked with plates, glasses etc.
Villa grounds were spacious and well tended.
Directions to villa were clear. Owner was very helpful and quick to respond to email questions.
Due to location in mountains/hills a car is a MUST for people staying at El Capricho.
Would defiantly return to stay there again.

Was a lovely property, quiet and secluded up a rather steep and curvy track, but directions were spot on and we arrived to find a lovely big garden with a fabulous swimming pool and lots of room in the house itself. When we did have a problem (we couldn't get the dishwasher to work), Gennevieve arranged it all quickly and someone came out that day to fix (we were pushing the wrong button).

Our holiday definitely exceeded our expectations on all accounts. It was hard finding it at 3am in the morning - but that added to the fun! The directions and map were very helpful.
The villa was in a beautiful setting! Very clean, lovely big pool, fantastic views, great weather!
Wouldn't change it in anyway!

Stayed here for a week end of June beginning of July. The villa was fantastic and the views down to the coast were breathtaking. In our group we had 4 adults 2 teenagers and 3 children and we never felt we were under each others feet. The accomodation was ample and the facilities great. The pool and garden areas were perfect, just what we had hoped for. And if you want peace and quiet then go here.
The villa was 'fun' to find and although the mountain roads were narrow and winding this just added to the whole experience.
If you stay at the El Capricho make sure you have a car. Personally I think the walk upto the village, especially with children, is a bit to far. But whatever you do make sure you go to Mijas. It was just lovely with a good choice of restauants.
All in all a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Excellent location, we have rented a few villas in spain and this was the best location yet, the views are stunning. A good sized pool possibly a little deep for young children. A little tricky to find the villa but once you find your way around there is good access down to the coastal resorts and beyond. It is possible to walk up to the charming village of mijas (if you are feeling energetic) where there are plenty of resturants and attractions to enjoy.
The villa layout is very good, our group comprised of three sets of families (2x4 + 1x2 incdluding two older teenagers) and we all felt that we had our own space.
A very enjoyable holiday.

This is a great villa in a fabulous position - very private with superb views over Fuengirola. The villa had everything we needed in a "home from home". Our party had 5 adults & 4 kids and we all had a great holiday. The kids particularly enjoyed the large pool with diving board! We were well looked after by the house-keeper, maid, pool man, etc, etc. A car is an absolute must if staying at El Capricho.

Nice Viwes, quiet location a car is essential. Good house for six not big enough for 8 or 10 as dinner table on allows 8 and upstaier living room only allows 6ยด. There are only six sunbeds and the outside furniture needs to be changed most of them are broken. The maid did not come the first week first after a call, so in 16 days she was there only twices. But otherwise we enjoy a very nice holidays and can fully recommed this house for your next holiday.
Owner reply:
Thank you for your comments. Feedback is always a good thing. When I went to the villa after your stay I could only find one sunbed and one chair with a crack in the plastic which was then replaced easily as we have spares in the garage. Putting a bigger table in the dining room would not be possible as it is already huge and made specially for 10. (1.10mX2.40m). I have relayed your comment to the cleaning lady who promised to show up later/earlier when she has a doctor's appointment/or any other reason for not coming on the scheduled day.
