The location was beautiful surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The villa was well presented with tasteful decor and offered a good wellcome on arrival after the journey from the airport. The swimming pool was lovely and refreshing where we spent much time relaxing. The local towns and markets were well worth visiting as well as the prehistoric cave paintings. For a well earned rest this villa offers tranquility and remoteness without being too cut off from civilisation. However, if you enjoy being close to the sea and nightlife perhaps this is a little too isolated.

We (just 2 of us) specifically went for the convenience of a private pool (5 bed villa but it gave us the pool we wanted) so it was good value to us. Had we gone with all our family then the value for money would have been excellent.
The villa itself is modern, roomy and with all the necessary facilities. There is no TV signal but the owners have provided a huge amount of videos, books, games and, in my opinion as it nearly mirrored my own, a superb record collection for local entertainment.
The property met nearly all our expectations but was a little further out of town than we expected 4.5km). This meant we pretty much had to drive to restaurants and bars when we would have preferred to walk on occasions. That said, the villa is perfectly situated for touring and the surrounding countryside, mountains and lakes are stunning, whilst the towns and villages are quaint and relaxed.
The owners and local key holders couldn't be more helpful. Directions to the villa, information about the villa and the locality, including shops, restaurants and places to visit were all brilliant and provided without asking. As our flight was late the very flexible response about gaining access to the villa was also much appreciated. Going the extra mile, the owners also provided information on local airports, flights and car hire. Again, very helpful.
The owners made local arrangements to ensure we were looked after during our stay and we were made to feel most welcome by the local key holders who cleaned the pool regularly and provided us with additional local information.
We had a fabulous time and I would definitely recommend Villa Maria if you are looking for a high quality, but slightly remote location, within beautiful rural Spain.

The property was wonderful. It was very spacious, bright, clean and very well equipped (a super large fridge - wonderful!)
All the windows had mosquito nets on them and the lounge had a tv with lots and lots of videos which was fun. the upstairs terrace was a great place to watch the sunset
The pool was so lovely and clean and in the most wonderful peaceful setting. Lovely for watching the Milky Way and shooting stars at night.
The local village, although 6/7mins away was full of bars that came to life in the evening!
The owners were also very helpful before we went, answering our questions and sorting out anything in particular that we needed. ( eg sheet & towel hire)
A truly relaxing holiday.
Thank you.
