The Retreat is a comfortable, good sized house, furnished and decorated in an attractive style. The situation is beautiful - surrounded by fields and trees with a view of the distant mountains, but at the same time bordered by other houses, and within easy reach of local restaurants. You will find here all the equipment you will need for a family of six or more. Our only very minor disappointment was the TV - very few entertaining channels to watch, and virtually nothing but the news in English. The local town of Myslenice is well worth exploring, and it is an easy days excursion to Zakopane in the Tatra mountains, or to the Wielikzka salt mines, also to Auschwitz which is an unforgettable experience. The Retreat is a very good centre for visiting so many places of interest - and good to come home to at the end of the day!

Location was great. We landed in wroclav. Not far from krakow and not that far from zakopane. Owners speak perfect english and went out of there way to help out. Definitely would revisit but i would split up the holiday in two, to reduce travelling times. Long distances kept us away from the comfort of this villa. We would suggest some kind of cooling system though as we had two very hot days.

The house is really beautiful with wonderful views of the mountains and countryside and excellent facilities. Bill and Eva went out of their way to make things easy for us and answer our queries and all went smoothly. The house is well placed for visiting Krakow, Zakopane and surrounding attractions, including Auschitwz and the Salt Mines, but we got just as much pleasure from hanging around Myslenice and swimming in the outdoor pool.

Enjoyed our stay at The Retreat, meet & greet could be improved, we phoned to be met at the Spar which had changed hands, we waited by the Euromart and the man waited by the other shop. We decided to see if we could find it ourselves, after going over the hill and two speed ramps we did not know where to go and were helped by some people that lived near. The Retreat is 75 mtrs after the second speed ramp. A name plate on the house would be the answer, as the numbers are random.Weather was lovely and we liked Myslenice, had 2 meals at Stek which were excellant.

Owner reply:
Unfortunately the Spar had just changed owners to a new supermarket chain and name, its the first time we have had a short delay finding anyone in 7 years, we have updated our directions to the shop which is now carrefore. Bill and Eva

This was an excellent property. I had made an error in my dates and the owners were wonderful about accommodating us. They met us and gave us directions to various sights and needed facilities in the area. We were able to visit many areas quite easily-only the road works were a problem. Our stay in Poland became a wonderful part of our holiday because of our home away from home. This property would be a wonderful place for a family!

It is a very comfortable house with plenty of space and kitchen equipped to cater for 8 people. Good views and lovely walking from the house to lake and forest paths. We had an enjoyable holiday. We found two faults on arrival which we reported to the owners representative when we checked out and mentioned in the visitors book: - DVD wasnt working with our DVDs - Shower head fixture in upstairs bathroom was broken (we supported it with a cable clip.) Fairly quiet area, although some visitors might be disturbed by barking dogs in the neighbourhood. The directions to the house from Myslenice could be clearer and more detailed. We arrived in a downpour and found the landmarks we were given hard to see. We intend to send some photos/distances to the owner which he could add to his directions.

Owner reply:
The beauty of staying at our house is the support network available during your stay from either us or my father in law unlike many other Polish rentals. If you have any problems like the above you can call straight away and we will come and rectify them dont wait until you leave! Whilst i have used a few cable ties for emergancies in my time the shower head wasnt broken, the clip that holds the head needed the screw tightening which I did in two seconds. Weve put in a new DVD and updated our arrival details, please keep your suggestions coming for improvements we want to provide the best possible holiday stay.
regards Bill and Eva

Really lovely house and very spacious. Bill and Ewa looked after us very well - nothing was too much trouble. The house is well placed for visits to Krakow and to the south for rafting and the mountains. Plenty to do to suit all ages. Would definitely return.

A superb location with beautiful scenic suroundings,an ideal house for those who want to get away from it all an have a stress free break. The house itself was to a very high standard with contempory interior and a lovely bathroom suite. The owners were more than helpful when we asked for information ,nothing was too much trouble for them. The polish people are warm and welcoming,we would recommend the place to anyone.it has the beauty of Austria without the price tag as the cost of living in poland is great value for money. We shall return.

Thank you all for an excellent holiday in a wonderful home away from home! We honestly cannot fault a single thing about our time spent in both the retreat and in Poland itself. It was one of the best holidays we have had and I certainly would love to return and would recomend the retreat to anyone thinking of visiting Poland. The owners were most helpful in the extreme and very friendly. Thank you Bill and family for your hospitality xxx

This property was in an exceptional location within half hour drive from krakow and 10 minute drive from the local town (Myslenice), we did walk and it takes approx 1hr 15 minutes from house to town square. Property was spacious, clean and well furnished, patio overlooks the mountains nearby and backs on to a large garden. Our only complaint was the fridge did keep the food cool but not quite cold enough for our lovely Polish beers (however the freezer did the trick!!!). Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base in southern Poland, and the price is excellent. We had an brilliant holiday in Poland and are looking forward to returning.

A beautiful villa, very clean, spacious and comfortable to live in. Surrounding area of countryside very pleasent with excellent bus connections to nearby town of Myslenice and on into Krakow. Villa owner extremely helpful in making arrangements and giving information about the area. Ideal for families. Owner or agent on hand in nearby villa to help with any issues. Thanks again for your invaluable help with our daughter Miriam. Would certainly recommended this villa to my friends.

We all loved this house, it was very light and spacious and quite central for all the places we wanted to visit. We're thinking of returning next summer as we just ran out of time to see everything and would definately consider coming back here! Thanks Bill

Nearly new, clean, spacious home in a peaceful area. We loved it! A big yard for the kids to play in; beautiful views; and wooded trails for hiking just down the road. 30 minutes from the driveway until we were parked in downtown Krakow. The highlight for the kids was the chairlift that carried us to the top of the nearby hills to hike. We were well cared for by the owners' family -- wonderful people. Our fifth vacation rental in Europe and by far our favorite.

you couldnt wish for a more relaxing place to stay with excellent views, places nearby are great value, prices for food and drink you will be hard pushed to beat, this is a beautiful home in a great country with so much to see and most nearby via a bus ride.

A great location just outside Krakow with good local facilities. Could have better wardrobe space, in the bedrooms.

Owner reply:
We realize some people are on long trips and have more luggage so will provide some extra wardrobes this year.

House is spacious, light and airy, and well equipped, although I have suggested that better pans would be appreciated by guests who enjoy cooking as well as eating out. The property is very well situated. Rural setting and scenic outlook are very relaxing. It is quiet and peaceful, and yet convenient for Kracow, Zakopane, the Salt Mines and Auschwitz (although we did not choose to visit the latter). We were given an excellent welcome by the visiting owner, and by the friendly caretaker who lives nearby. This is a property to be greatly recommended.

Owner reply:
Thanks for your suggestions, we will buy some new pans for the house for all you chefs!

In 14 months of traveling around Europe, this was our nicest rental. It was very spacious, and the manager was very friendly and accomodating. It was well situated for our drives to Wadowice, Krakow, and Auschwitz.

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful area. Its worth knowing you can eat out at the top restaurants in Myslenice and drink your fill and its hard to spend 10 pounds each for a whole night everything included. The restaurants are really special and the equivalent night in uk would cost you about 100 pounds each. Culturally everything is close, I recommend Krakow castle and the huge square, the trip down the river on a raft which takes you into slovakia and back through huge mountains. The salt mine at Wieliczka which is one of unisco's world wonders. There is so much nearby a week wasnt enough, we are coming back soon. The Poles are very very hospitable and you can normally find someone who speaks English. You will have a fantastic time.
