The villa was absolutely perfect and certainly lived up to expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and made full use of the garden area and the terrace on the days we stayed home. It was quite enjoyable watching the farmer take the goats and the pig for a walk around the fields. We fed the cats (hope you dont mind) and fell in love with spotty dog, who followed us up the lane when we left. We didnt encourage them into the villa though. We have been coming to this area for the last three years staying in various different locations, starting off in a Urb and slowly progressing to the more rural areas and your villa has been the best one yet, so thank you very much and we look forward to coming back again.

stayed here for 4 nights in February. The owner was extremely helpful leading up to our holiday, even when our flight was canceled with 24 hours notice and we had to alter the booking! The directions to the house were spot on and the house itself exceeded our expectations. Made very welcome by the local cats and neighbours lovely dogs. Typical rural Spain, which we love! Only downside, very cold at night. Buy plenty of logs!

I believe we were one of your first guests and have been back every year, always at the end of May or beginning of June when the weather is usually about 25 degrees, perfect for the beach or walking or sightseeing. The Finca far exceeded our expectations, its spotless, the interior design and kitchen equipment are to an excellent standard, even a juicer so we were able to pick your oranges and juice them for breakfast on the little terrace whilst enjoying the stunning scenery. There are lots of beaches to chose from but can recommend Portus which is just a short drive. Weve also enjoyed visits to the historic towns of Cartegena and Murcia for great restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. A perfect place to take a breath and really chill. Thank you Linda

We stayed at your cottage in November, not very good weather I am afraid, as it is not now, here on the Costa del Sol, but of course better than the UK. We, as a family who owned and cooked for high class restaurants for 25yrs, and are now still keen amateur cooks, would like to thank you for the very well equipped kitchen. We had travelled with less equipment than usual as it was only for a week, and were delighted to find everything we needed, plus Claudia Roden, and some books we hadn’t seen !

delightful house. A perfect funk hole for the stressed. NO tv ,phone or other distractions. There is no way to get away from your fellow guests, especialy on dark evenings, as access is so difficult that it takes guts to take the car out at night. A misnomer to describe it as in a picturesque village, more a rather grubby hamlet. The view was good in an area without much going for it. We hane been going to Spain since the 60s and this is the only one with no friendly locals. The house is good, very well equiped for even for serious cooks, but it is obviously someones home, good, but very little space for your belongings. One empty wardrobe would have been nice.

Owner reply:
Thanks for your feedback, especially the kind comments about the house itself. Taking your other points in turn:

- while the lane to the property is fairly narrow in one section, it is lit very effectively at night by three street lights, so access to or from the property is not hindered by nightfall
- we have never heard anyone (including previous guests) describe the surrounding countryside as anything other than picturesque, but appreciate that rural Spain may not be to everyones taste
- having travelled the length and breadth of Spain, we find Murcianos, (in particular Perineros), some of the friendliest people you could meet
- we have taken on board your comments about storage space, and since your stay, empty wardrobes are provided in the two principal bedrooms part of the wardrobe in the third bedroom is allocated to the storage of bedlinen and towels for the property

The photos of this property really dont do it justice! It was far roomier than we expected. The place was really clean, well maintained, with excellent facilities which all worked - we felt very well looked after! Location-wise, we were a short drive from some excellent beaches, unspoiled by development, just 40 minutes from the airport, and not too far from Cartagena itself. Importantly, the owners themselves were really helpful with queries, and have obviously really looked after the property. We would not hesitate to go back and are torn between recommending it to our friends and keeping it to ourselves!!

This finca is amazing. The deco is cool and modern and is full of all the mod cons. Our favourite part was the en-suite bathroom with its power shower which I could have stayed under all day. There were lots of info of places to visit which was extremly useful. There were also lots of comfortable seating, great for chilling on with a glass of wine. The place was spotless and we couldn't have asked for a better. The one thing we would have liked was perhaps a TV with a gamesconsole for late night funess but hey, you can't have everything. Thanks Darren & Pat.

A really nice refurbishment of a traditional building to give spacious, bright and airy 3 bed accomodation. Nicely located about 15mins outside Cartagena in a small group of houses in a rural village. Actually a semi-detached, but not a problem. No air-con or pool, but rural location more than makes up for this, especially as all facilities are fairly close by. Will probably book again as it's ideal for doing trackdays at nearby cartagena circuit.

great house, in a lovely location. very spacious for six people, nice living areas. highly recommend it. no TV or internet and sketchy mobile reception(although these could be an advantage if your on holiday!) The Guns of Navarone are well worth a visit and it is possible to get inside one of the big guns if you have a torch, and a sense of adventure!

This finca is superbly equiped and finished and furnished to an excellent standard, it's true that the pictures don't do it enough justice! Very spacious and we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the rear terrace with it's beautiful views of the lemon and olive groves. Perfectly located for the beach at La Zohia (which is a fab 12 km drive!) This pretty beach is great for kids as not too deep and really warm. Cartegena was great, lots of little streets to explore and a very good shopping centre at the Espacio MediterrĂ¡neo (if you need to get a retail fix). Also worth the drive to Archena (about 75 mins) for the amazing hydrotherapy baths, really good value at about E9.00 each for the day. We're looking forward to a return visit!

Myself and five other friends booked to stay here.We thought it may be a bit of a tight squeeze but amazingly for the price we had plenty of space both in and outdoors. The photos don't really do it justice in terms of the size, there is a huge roof terrace where we had several lovely dinners and another terrace looking out over the olive and lemon trees where some lazy afternoons were spent. The area is brilliant, very relaxed with plenty of cheap food and wine. We loved the local beaches and two of our friends even got engaged at the nearest one! The house is really well stocked with everything you could need or want, including a dishwasher!, games, and loads of kitchen essentials for cooking at the house. I would definitely recommend this place!

If 'Far From the Madding Crowds' is your sort of holiday - this is the place for you. Sleepy, picturesque Spanish village nestled in the hills - yet very close to both beaches and towns with all the local flavour this rugged, starkly beautiful part of Spain has to offer. The villa is lovely, with a very spacious and contemporary feel. There are wonderful walks and stunning unspoilt scenery - with fantastic views enjoyed from the large roof terrace. Perin has peace and tranquility rarely found in Spain today. A great retreat with nature on your doorstep - go experience and enjoy!

What a wonderful place. We haven't felt that relaxed in years. The finca is styish yet homely, with everything you'll need, and in a wonderfully peaceful setting too. There is fabulous hiking nearby and some pretty beaches. Cartagena itself (15 mins away) is great for an evening stroll along the marina (and there's a decent Zara too). We felt right at home from the minute we arrived and loved all the artwork, cushions, candles, and all the other personal touches. We've stayed in self-catering accommodation before, but they all now seem stark and soulless compared to Los Morenos. If you go, be sure to say hello to the lovely dog next door, who welcomed us back every time we went for a drive - and make sure you make the most of the lovely roof terrace for some private sunbathing. We plan to go back soon for another chilled out week.

Before booking, when we first saw pictures of the Finca and read the other reviews, we thought "this place sounds too good to be true", but it was absolutely spot on. The Finca is beautiful and furnished to a very high standard. Los Morenos is nicely situated in a small village but relatively close to towns where we found numerous high quality restaurants, all of which had been detailed in the helpful information provided by the owners. Local support was also provided by the owners but we didn't have to use it as all the directions, advice, key collection, etc. was perfect. The beach at Al Zohia, about a 10 minute drive, was spectacular. It was about half a mile long around a curved bay but with very few people. Brilliant! We had a great time in the Finca and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Los Morenos is an exceptional property - well equipped, clean and very spacious. We had a fabulous 12 days here and felt very much at home. We certainly would recommend it to anybody. Hopefully we will stay here again one day.

The property was the most tastefully fitted out holiday home we have ever visited. All aspects - furnishings, decorations, fixtures, equipment etc are all excellent. Set in a rural location - very quiet - 15 minutes from Cartagena to the West and 15 minutes from a lovely beach to the East. Typically Spanish and suited us down to the ground because not being what one would call "touristy" the surrounding area was not saturated with high rise buildings, English Bars, fish and chip shops and discos. A lovely place and we will certainly go again. Peter and Susan Warburton

Dear Owners of Los Morenos,

We would like to thank you for a very nice stay we have had in your wonderful house. Since we have met your very kind parents (in law) we can retrace some of your flair in interior decorations. Your house is very bright and welcoming and the secerny is quite special.

We are already looking forward to our next visit to see our friends in the village and hope that we may then once more enjoy your hospitality.

Wishing you a very nice summer season in Spain.

Best reagrds from Abdrea and Bryan Schipper
