Tell us about your visit:

We have just returned from a brilliant holiday in Turkey, staying at the above apartment.
First of all, let me get the very few niggles out of the way. There is a smell from one of the bathrooms when you first enter the apartment, but it is not offensive and it does not last very long. The only other thing I would like to highlight is the knives in the cutlery drawer. I think these are pretty sharp and really not suitable for children. I would also like to have seen egg cups. The kitchen had enough crockery and the basics you would need for simple meals and breakfast, but we ate out most nighes so it didnt really affect us. Some of the glasses had slight chips, again not major, just thinking about children using them.
We had only had one real problem, and that was with the fridge, but once I told Julian he organised for it to be fixed, and it was. Julian will tell you all about the area, good places to visit, eat or shop. It was reassuring to know there was someone we could go to if we needed help or advice.
From my initial enquiry to our arrival it was a very smooth process. Julian, the point of contact was efficient, friendly and very helpful. I booked the taxi transfers and the welcome pack as we were arriving at night. The taxi arrived on time and the welcome pack covered all that was needed to see us through to the morning.
The apartment is large and spacious. The views from both balconies are impressive. There are plenty of towels, and having a washing machine is a bonus. The beds are a good size and comfortable. The apartment also provides cushions for the sun loungers and a parasol which is a must as it is very hot by the pool (although one side is in the shade by about 2pm). There are air conditioning units in both bedrooms and the living room. There is also a TV and a playstation 2 which you can play DVDs on. The upstairs shower is one of the best I have used.
The swimming pool is a good size, and I have to say when we were there not very busy. Some days we had the pool to ourselves. The pool is maintained daily. The grounds are clean and tidy, impressively maintained by Julian and his cat Jennifer!
The location of the apartments are good. It is right next to the beach and on the promenade that leads to all the restaurants and shops. Watching the sunset from the seafront is a beautiful sight.
There are many good restaurants in Calis, and some really friendly people. Quite a few have live entertainment which was good. We went to a Turkish night at the Letoon Hotel (next door). It was a very good night, local dnacers and a belly dancer. Be warned, audience participation is compulsory, but its fun.
Many of the bars and restuarants also have free wi-fi access if you drink or eat there, which is very useful. Calis has its own market on a Sunday, which is full of fresh produce and "genuine fake" products, its worth a trip, and can be reached by either walking or the Dolmus goes straight there. There is also an Aquapark in Calis, its small, but the kids will enjoy it. We spent a day there and my 14 year old had a good time.
Thank you Julian, we will be in touch soon concerning next year!

I booked this apartment just a few days before going to Turkey and the whole experience was very smooth, from finding the apartment, enquiring and booking, it all went without a hitch. The owner/manager was very helpful, offering transfers etc and giving directions.
The apartment was very much as per description. It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Access arrangements went to plan and the manager was very helpful, calling round to see if there was anything we needed.
The great thing about having an apartment rather than a hotel room is all the space you have and, with a balcony, beach towels, swimmies etc can all be dried out ready for the next day.
There are plenty of shops with lovely fresh bread and fruit, at a stones throw and the beach is literally just a few steps away.
The beach is not the prettiest, but the surrounding views more than make up for this, with stunning sunsets.
The best thing though, is the people - so laid back and friendly, like stepping back in time. The nearby beach bars, with bean bags and massive cushions, make for the comfiest sunbathing ever!
As well as the strip with all the restaurants next door to each other, check out the ones on the other side (ie take a right at the beach rather than left), there are some great ones, eg Obens and Guvens. Really excellent.
All in all, a great holiday - thanks, Julian."

Sunset Apartments was very nice and at the quieter northern end of the beach. It was spacious and we had all the facilities we needed including air conditioning which we needed. The area experienced a power cut and our apartment had no water for for an afternoon but as our waiter Ali told us "in Turkey, expect surprises!".
We were very well looked after during our stay and got some good advice about where to go. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. We were in the pool every day and the pool and gardens are very well maintained.
We absolutely loved Calis Beach and had a very relaxed break there in late June/early July. Its perfect for families or friends / couples.
The beach (1 minute from the apartment) is stunning, and has some of the best sunsets Ive ever come across, perfect for enjoying the first drink of the evening. There is a wide pedestrian walkway between the beach and the restaurants / bars / hotels so is perfect for kids and for a daily / evening stroll. The sea is lovely to swim in, and there is a shingle beach so no annoying sand everywhere! There are plenty of parasols and loungers for hire.
The restaurants are of a very high standard and because lots of Turks holiday in Calis there was a wide range of Turkish food, as well as standard resort fare for the Brits if you wanted it. Their presence also keeps prices down and average price for a main meal and two drinks was extremely reasonable and much cheaper than anywhere which has the Euro. Best restaurants we found were Bostans which had the best free mezze (try the Adana kebab!), Orient Express and Lilys Steak House. We also had some nice lunches and liked Kum City for its homemade bread and Turkish pancakes. You can also get corn on the cob and pastries from sellers by the beach so can eat very cheaply if you want to. We had lovely fresh watermelon for breakfast.
We did a day trip to Olu Deniz via bus and dolmus on the way there and back via water taxi. Public transport is very efficient and cheap, but hot and slow as they stop every where. Olu Deniz was nice for the day but think Calis is a nicer resort. And we travelled through Ovacik and Hisonorou which both looked quite a way from the sea.
If you want swimming, sunsets and fantastic food then Calis is for you!
