This is a great property for a break away from the crowds in Southern Spain. It takes a leap of faith to drive down the narrow and steep access road. However, the destination is worth it.
The property is town-house style but we were barely aware of the immediate neighbours. Inside is spacious, clean and tastefully furnished with plenty of space to sleep six.
Outside there are two balconys (with sea/mountain views over the village) and two private patio areas (one covered). There is also the beautiful garden / pool area which is shared with the other properties but was nevery busy.
Phil (the owner) went to great lengths to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. This is his holiday home and being able to use his essentials such as coolboxes, ice packs and plug adapters was a great bonus.
You will need a car as Albunol will not keep you busy for long but there is plenty to do with Granada, the Sierra Nevada mountains and the coast easily accessible. You need to turn a blind eye to the greenhouses and accept that the beaches are pebbles rather than golden sand. But you will find plenty to do and have a great value holiday here.

Fabulous holiday property. Loved everything about the house and the village. The house was clean on arrival, well equipped and comfortable with loads of wardrobe space which is a definite plus. The only thing I missed and think the property needs is a dishwasher because with a family of 5 it did feel that I was constantly washing up and we did eat in most of the time. Another tiny request would be another sofa in the living area and possibly tvs in the bedrooms, with a magic eye to plug into the Sky. I would though really recommend this property and the renter. It was all such a smooth transaction and they were really accommodating. The pool is fantastic, shame it closes every Wed though for cleaning. Think it would be good for this to be rescheduled during the hot summer months to maybe closing early evening over night. These are such small niggles, and would urge you to visit this area and the house. Excellent and friendly communication with the owners. Albunol is a gem of a hideaway in rural Spain and from the house you can walk into the village easily down the many tiny and winding streets. We even enjoyed the steep walk back up because it is all so picturesque. Thank you for sharing your home with us

The apartment is perfect for a quiet summer break. It has all mod cons and great views down to the sea.It sleeps 6 but there were only the 2 of us .The village has everything you need with a few bars and restaurants and shops. You will need a car if you want to explore but its pretty central for going along the coast or heading up to the hills.
The pool and the area around it is clean and realaxing.
With the exception of the neighbouring aprtments there isnt a lot of holiday accomodation in this village so if you are after clubs, dancing and full english breakfast dont go.Its still a little bit of authentic spain .We loved it and plan to go back this year.
