Villa Elisa rural Country Villa sleeps 6
This newly renovated Villa has been refurbished to a very high standard with quality fittings and is very well equipped.
It is set (along with the owners property) within four acres of well kept grounds with Olive, Almond, and Fig, Pear, Quince, Pomegranate and Citrus trees.
Situated on the Costa de la Luz near the city of Huelva and the towns of Gibraleon, Cartaya and Lepe. Costa de la Luz is well known for its beautiful beaches, miles of pale sand.

The swimming pool is 10 metres by 5 metres surrounded by a very large tiled area with sun loungers and those all important shaded corners. The area has been landscaped and boasts a full selection of attractive plants and shrubs. There is an outside loo and poolside shower.
The Villa has two terraces one south west to soak up all the sunshine the other one north/east to enjoy the sunrise, and if needed, to escape the afternoon heat. There is a gas barbeque, with table and chairs for al fresco dining, a perfect spot for watching the sun set.
The spacious interior which is a 100 sq metres, boasts a large kitchen diner, with electric cooker, ceramic hob, granite worktops very well equipped to produce some tasty Spanish dishes (or egg and chips)!
The lounge has a bed settee to sleep two, large open fire for those cosy evenings, patio doors with far reaching views over fields filled with “Belota” (Spanish oak) trees.
There are two bedrooms, one double and a twin, both with wardrobes etc. Fully fitted bathroom with bath and separate shower, we are on mains water. All bedding and towels are supplied (not beach) and are exchanged regularly.
Shopping and eating out.
You can shop for anything locally at San Bartolome (2mins) Gibraleon (10mins) Huelva (30mins). They all have local fresh fruit vegetables, fish and meat. The markets are on different days in the surrounding towns and villages from about 10am till 2pm, usually Spanish is only spoken, but you can always get what you want as the traders are all eager to serve you. The shops and businesses close for siesta at 2pm and reopen around 5.30/6pm till 9pm. The exception is the big hypermarkets open from 10am till 10pm, based in Huelva.

Restaurants and bars serve breakfast from early morning until about 12 o’clock this is various toasted breads with different toppings of your choice with coffee or sometimes tea. It is very cheap and tasty. From twelve o’clock until about 4 o’clock they serve their “meal of the day”, tapas or the full menu. “Meal of the day” includes a drink, starter, main course and sweet, bread and olives are also included in many establishments, this costs between 6 and 9 euros, a real bargain!
There are bars and restaurants within two minutes drive from the villa, and there are many more in Gibraleon about 10 minutes away. Vegetarians get by but the Spanish do not have such a wide choice of appropriate foods for them. Huelva (30 mins) is full of bars and restaurants, including Chinese, so any visitor is spoilt for choice.
Places of interest
Punta Umbria is about 30 minutes away from the Villa it has many kilometres of fine sandy beaches stretching to the next port of call El Portil. Punta Umbria each year celebrates two open air extravaganzas to celebrate the sea fishing activities. In March more than 1,700 kilos of clams and other sea food are cooked and sold for nominal prices in the Plaza 26 de Abril. In April more than 60,000 people gather in the marques installed in the Plaza de Perez Pastor to sample prawns caught off the Huelva coast. The prawns have a special colour and taste when cooked, and everyone thoroughly enjoys the experience. This area is surrounded by three protected spaces of national interest and is a magnet for birdwatchers. There are over 200 species identified in the area. There are Pine, Juniper and Sevina woods running parallel to the beaches and sea. These often extend down to the beaches giving visitors much needed shade at the hottest time of the year.
The Atlantic Ocean washes the shores along the Costa de la Luz, the Coast of light, as it is known and many visitors do sea fishing, surfing, sailing, boating and Para surfing along the coast.
Niebla
Is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and is declared to be of official cultural interest it is about 30 kilometres and is reached via a very lovely cross country drive through rolling fields of olives, sunflowers, vines and other crops. Views are panoramic and you can see for miles as you make this journey. Niebla has a medieval beer festival at the end of May beginning June. Castillo de Niebla theatre and dance festival during July and August. It has two kilometres of perimeter walls completely surrounding the town with numerous towers and five main entrances. This is an authentic work of Moorish architecture and in the interior it includes a Christian castle built by the Guzman family. Almost every month there is a festival of music, theatre or dance held in the castle. It is well worth a visit.
Parque Nacional de Donana
This is considered to be one of the most important wildlife reserves on the European continent, combining the natural beauty of the area with its wealth of flora and fauna. The park can be visited and there are three visitors’ centres, Acebuche, La Rocina and Palacio Del Acebron. Almonte is the administration centre of the Nation Parque area where every year there is a round up of the wild horses and they run through the town for selling the next day at the horse market. This is a great night for celebration and many people to see the horses and party.
El Rocio
Is the place of Marian worship and the centre of the Whitsun pilgrimage. Days in which many thousands of visitors particularly Spanish people who walk, ride on carts, tractors, horseback and any other means dressed in their dazzling colourful dresses. They travel from many parts of Spain and the rest of the world to pay homage to the virgin at the most beautiful church you may see. It is a time again for eating, drinking, singing and dancing and everyone is part of this party atmosphere.
La Rabida
Next to Huelva, with its Columbus site, three ships that Columbus sailed in to discover America. The exhibition has many exhibits and artefacts described in Spanish and documents that relate to the time and the journey, and to the people Columbus met when he arrived in what is now known as the West Indies. Here there is a botanical garden containing examples of native and Latin-American flora, monastery of La Ribida with its beautiful conserved image of the Virgen de los Milagros. And nearby the birthplace of America, Palos de la Frontera. It is said that La Ribada is the historical destiny of Huelva, with the discovery of the new world. A cultural meeting place dating back to the 14th century Huelva maintains its traditional links with the peoples of America through its famous Columbinas Festival that takes place every July and August. In September is the festival of LaCinta an exhibition of dressage in the Spanish style with magnificent horses parading up and down the streets along with spectacular ribbon races. In June, July and August are theatre and street shows of Latin American music song and dance. Huelva has much to offer in history and culture and some very good shopping areas and markets.

There is room for 6 in the dining room, and 6 in the lounge. The large open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. In the kitchen you will find an oven, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/ freezer, coffee maker. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils. There is also a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and clothes airer.

The Villa is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a private swimming pool, four acres of gardens, large patio areas, barbeque. There is ample private parking, with the outside areas having external lighting.
