We visited Sciacca in the third week of Octobre. The apartment Papera we choose (picture with sunny balcony) was a bit dark in this period with no morningsun at the terrace during breakfast. We did not like the big white light inside, but a lot of candles made it cosier. When we saw another apartment at the southside of the same house we decided to definitely go back once, because the estate with all the olive trees and the peaceful atmosphere and the easy acces to reach all the touristattractions in the neighbourhood is superb! The olive oil was the best!

My husband and I had a wonderfully stay at Fontana Calda. We rented PAPERA. It was a perfect size for the two of us. The view from the balcony of the Olive grove was wonderful. Doris was an excellent host. She stocked the fridge with some basics before we arrived and gave us great information about the area. We are already talking about going back. Sciacca was a very nice town as well and close to many wonderful sites of Sicily.

We had a really comfortable stay thanks to Doris thinking of absolutely everything you could want/need on holiday. I would recommend the location too as it is peaceful with lovely views, but with easy access to the town of Sciacca.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Fontana Calda war von der ersten Minute an wunderbar. Obwohl wir erst sehr spät in der Nacht ankamen, wurden wir herzlichst von Doris begrüßt. Nicht nur hatte sie einen Stadtplan mit den wichtigsten Tipps vorbereitet, wo man gut essen gehen, parken und einkaufen kann, sondern auch den Kühlschrank mit den wichtigsten Dingen für die ersten Stunden versehen.
Unser Appartement war sehr liebevoll und durchdacht eingerichtet, die Küche war hervorragend ausgestattet. Der Blick von unserer Terasse auf den Olivenhain war grandios.
Wer Erhohlung und Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig. Doris stand immer für die Beantwortung von Fragen zur Verfügung, war aber niemals aufdringlich.
Unseren Freunden und Kollegen haben wir Fontana Calda schon empfohlen, an dieser Stelle möchten wir das auch tun.

Schon auf der Internet Seite fand ich die Lage, die Einrichtung der Appartments und die Beschreibung, was beinhaltet ist, sehr ansprechend. Ruhige Lage und grosse Sonnenterasse und vollausgestattete App. war genau das, was ich suchte. Bei Ankunft war ich nochmal angenehm überrascht, wie schön das Appartment in natura war - nämlich mit sehr viel Liebe im Detail eingerichtet. In der Küche alles vorhanden bis zu den Lebensmittel Basics. Gute Betten/Matrazen , Wohnzimmer mit gemütlichem Sofa, TV sogar mit dt. Programm, Terasse mit Sonnenliege, Tisch, Stühlene, Schirm .....also nicht diese billigen, einfachen, wackeligen, z.T. kaputten Einrichtungsgegenstände, die man von manchen Ferienwohnungen so kennt! Hier funktionierte alles.
Ausserdem sehr netter, hilfsbereiter, freundlicher Service durch durch die Besitzer. Idealerweise sollte man aber ein Auto oder eine Vespa dabei haben, da die Anlage 4 km vom Zentrum entfernt ist und die Strände ebenfalls nicht zu Fuss erreichbar.

We found the Fontana Calda through one of the gay-friendly websites, looking for an inn near beaches (like Capo San Marco) and antiquities (like Agrigento). We are SO glad we found Doris and her lovely estate nestled in a picturesque olive grove. Sciacca is a charming town worth visiting for a slice of Sicily...not too big...not too small. This is a substantial fishing community with many good restaurants specializing in fish dishes. Doris was wonderful recommending us to nearby restaurants that we really enjoyed. She provided us with directions and made reservations for us when needed. She patiently drew out detailed directions to some of the beaches for us as we were constantly getting lost; and provided us with beach towels. The house was really splendid. She has four rental apartments with everything you can want. We did laundry twice...part of the Sicilian experience after all is to hang dry your laundry. She gave us a complimentary bottle of local wine and equiped the kitchen with OJ, water and coffee. We had a wonderful week in Sciacca thanks to Doris and Fontana Calda.

We stayed at Fontana Calda for a week in August 2007.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and found our hosts friendly and extremely helpful in providing tips and information on the best places to visit in the area.
The immediate surroundings on the farm are peaceful and very relaxing - the farm has some of the oldest trees in the whole of Italy
Our apartment was clean and spacious with plenty of room for all our family comprising 2 adults and 3 boys. It was fully equipped with satellite TV etc and very comfortable. It was possible to borrow an umbrella and chairs for the beach.
The area is ideally located for visting unspoilt beaches, nature reserves, and the Greek ruins of Selinute and nearby Agrigento. Sciacca also has good restaurants and like all those of Sicily these cater excellently for children.

Fontana Calda is about 5 minutes drive from the fishing port of Sciacca. We returned here for the second time to enjoy the peace and quiet at this property. The apartments have everything to make your stay comfortable and no hidden extras in the price!
Our patio was gloriously sunny with choices of chairs/loungers . ...........and if you can draw yourself away, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, but if not, just sit back and relax.

My wife and I stayed a week at Fontana Calda and had a wonderful experience. Doris, the proprietor, was very pleasant (fluent in German, English, and Italian) and the accommodation was excellent and centered in a olive orchard close to Sicily's south coast. Fontana Calda has, in addition to olives, many orange and lemon trees. We had fresh squeezed orange juice many mornings --- outstanding! The room was bright and clean with a fully equipped kitchen with a wonderful deck that overlooked the olive orchard. The town of Sciacca is one of the most pleasant in Sicily. Fontana Calda is about 2-3 km from the city center and also has free wireless Internet access. We would go back in a heartbeat; next time, however, we will stay longer.

We enjoyed our two week stay at Localita Fontanacalda enormously. Our
apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival, and the welcome hamper was
generous and much appreciated. The details given on the internet are
accurate - and not exaggerated at all. Doris Ackermann was extremely helpful
with all our queries and requests. The rural, peaceful setting with easy
access to splendid ancient and medieval sites as well as to attractive
beaches was just right for us. We hope to return before long. We can
thoroughly recommend Fontanacalda!

The apartment was in excellent condition, nice balcony, lovely quiet location, very clean and much care had been taken to think of things that guests may need or want to borrow such as picnic bags/candles/leaflets about places of interest. Doris, the owner who lives on site, was very helpful and answered questions we had about the area. A car is needed in this area as the apartment is located slightly out of the town/away from the beach but only 5-10 mins away by car.

Absolutely wonderful area close to the sea and historical Temples. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere with Doris (Landlady) and her delicious homemade Lasagnes!
We definitely recommend this location! Doris, next time that we are in Sicily we visit you!

Hi , just a word to say thanks for renting your apartment to us , we got home ok - tired and cold !! We really enjoyed staying and hope to return again next year , and i just found one of your plug adapters attached to my cell phone charger that i took out the fan plug - oops sorry ok .
