Really lovely appartment for a fantastic relaxing holiday. Fatima was really lovely and gave us a real insight into Moroccan life - her cooking is excellent and the Hamam a fantastic experience. We loved the huge traditional bathroom, a real luxury and the resident cat made it really a home from home. One small criticism, the appartment had not been used for a few weeks before we arrived and so it was rather dusty and a little damp when we arrived and the curtains could do with a spring clean but this did not spoil our holiday. All in all we had a wonderful time.
Owner reply:
thank you for your comment-We have spoken to our cleaner who usually keeps our apartment spotless. The apartment has been thoroughly cleaned and is cleaned before each guest, it was a particularly damp climate at the beginning of march, we have a de humidifer for use if the weather is damp again.

We have just had a most wonderful holiday in ESsaouira and staying at chez Nicola was fantastic. Its a lovely apartment in a great central location. The apartment s really nicely decorated and equipped with everything you need. The sea views from the terrace were a real unexpected bonus. A lovely place to stay. Thank you. (Mariam London)

we have just had a wonderful 5 days in ESsaouira, and chez Nicola was the perfect base for exploring the medina. The apartment was extremely comfortable, and cosy yet spacious with some lovely decor. The roof terrace was a real bonus with great views of both the sea and medina where we enjoyed breakfast each morning and had a glass of wine in the evening. Said the manager was very helpful and Fatima the cleaner was a delight. Would definitely recommend. Rich Bristol.

Abit of a shock when we first arrived as it was deep into the medina, the flat was a little dark and a bit musky, but after a nights sleep and a few incense sticks later,a bit of a chat about the noise and madness outside we started to get a real sense of magic about the whole set up,we loved it and did not want to leave,Said was a really nice bloke who when we called was in the middle of his own wedding,he still had time for us with a genuine concern,Fatima was just a nice person to be around and we enjoyed a lot of good banter with her.5 days was not enough and we will return this year,we live near Tarifa ( Spain ) and it has alot to learn from Essaouira!! Great trip thanks.

We really liked this apartment which was overall well-equipped but also kept a real moroccan feel about it and was very bright and pleasant to be in. There was also excellent support from Fatima and Said who provide local knowledge and are very happy to help out with any problems.
we would say that the photographs of the roof terrace could be updat ed as the current photo is not really indicative of what it is like now as the added walls make it feel much more enclosed and cut out the views - and the current furniture is not as attractive. We had also thought that the roof terrace was attached to the 2nd floor flat - so it would be useful to let people know that it is shared with 3 other flats.
Owner reply:
Yes, the terrace is shared with 3 other apartments, but it is very rare that you see anyone up there from the other apartments.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at chez Nicola, the apartment exceeded all our expectations and the photos on the website certainly dont do the apartment justice!!! The decor is lovely and the apartment is extremely comfortable and spacious yet cosy. Fatima the maid was delightful and kept the apartment spotless she also cooked a fantastic tagine. For us on our last night. We cant wait to return and would recommend to anyone!!!

AMAZING!!! Exeeded our expectations in full! Thanks to Fatima the lady of many talents, Said the man who is there when ever you need him and ofcourse the owners Nicola & Damien. if there is a complaint it would be the photos used to promote the property...most pictures are taken in the property below Chez Nicola like the bed room picture and the living room picture, they are identical propertys but there is a slighty different set-up...DONT expect a 4 poster bed..., that was a slight dissapointment and dont know WHY the real photos arent used as it is just as beautiful if not better....BUT A DEFINATE recommendation!! Essaouira is great!...chilled...and you will get a proper holiday feeling....

What a great apartment, its decorated in a really authentic moroccan style and the owner has added lots of personal touches-the bathroom is a dream!!!!-why cant bathrooms at home ever be like this. The apartment has a large roof terrace perfect for a glass of wine watching the sun set in the evening and looking out over the whole medina in one direction and the sea to the other. Perfect!!!!!!!!!-Would definately recommend!

This is a sweet apartment in the middle of the medina in Essauria. The owner has arranged a very nice caretaker of the apartment who gives good advise and is reassuring to have around. Also a very nice cleaner who keeps the place spotless. The apartment is just at the photos and the terrace is an added bonus.

Dear Nicola,
We had a great stay in your apartment. I loved the way it is decorated. Especially the things you have made....("The cats from Essaouira", I love them ))
It was very nice to come back to after a nice day in Essaouira.
It is warm and romantic. The atmosphere makes you feel relaxed.
And the roof-terrace is wonderful. We could watch the sun go down and after we had a nice barbeque.
Said and Fatima are wonderful and very friendly.
They helped us a lot. And it was very nice to talk to them.
The only thing I would change is the kettle for hot water. We liked to take a bath, but the hot water was finished fast.
But we would definitly come back!!!
Thank you...
Mustapha & Kiona
Owner reply:
We have a large water heater in the apartment which is usually enough for everyone to take a shower, the bath in the apartment is huge so its hard to fill right to the top.

We had a great stay at "Chez Nicola". The apartment is really lovely and nice and central to everything. Said was incredibly helpful and showed us everything we needed to know in Essaouira. If you have any questions, just ask him. One evening we had a BBQ on the roof terrace, charcoal can be bought in any of the small shops. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment to everyone and would definitely stay here again.

Chez Nicola is a beautiful flat. It is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is splendid and it was tempting to use the bath rather than the shower - however the medina sometimes has water shortages. The flat is in a residential part of the medina so the food markets are on the door step and everything needed is within a short walk. The manager of the flat, Said, is very helpful and the taxi arrangements on arrival and departure were well organised. Said is generous in sharing his knowledge of Essouria and can recommend places to eat etc. Fatima, the cleaner, is learning english and it is a good deal better than my french! Nicola, one of the owners of the flat, was in Essouria, while we were there and called round to see if all was well. From my perspective it would be difficult to find anything negative about the flat or the service. The beach which goes for miles is beautiful and becomes quiter the further you walk. My impression of Essouria is that it is a welcoming, busy and intersting town.

Fantastic communication and help from the owner on a number of queries. Swift and very informative replies. Arrival instructions all arranged as planned and assisted superbly by the apartment manager when in Morocco. Clean and tidy apartment, with all the specifications detailed previously. Really enjoyed our time there and would greatly recommend using this to anyone else.

There were four of us in the villa for one week, and all of us enjoyed the stay immensely. We were collected from the airport and found booking a return taxi with Said really easy, despite changing our pick-up time a few times. The driver was waiting for us outside the apartment at 5am, and was really polite and helpful.
The villa was really comfortable and had more than sufficient facilities, however I would not recommend more than four adults in the villa. We chose to cook ourselves most days, and found the kitchen to be well stocked with equipment. I was suprised that there wasn't any basic store cupboard items (Salt/Pepper/Oil etc) however, these were more than easy to come across in the local markets.
Said, the manager of the apartment, was really helpful, very easy to contact and resolved our lack of hot water within half an hour. Speaking both excellent English and French we found it really easy to communicate. Fatima, the cleaner, was discreet and a pleasure to have around the villa. Whilst we were there, our needs were met with efficiency and ease. These people are a credit to the owners of the villa.
The villa can be noisy at night, especially with the call to morning prayer, but you soon get used to this and to be honest, it adds to the feel of the town. You are right in the middle of the Medina and are surrounded by all the shops, restaurants and goings on, and yet are only a short five minute walk down to the harbour and the beach.
I would recommend this villa to anyone looking to visit Essaouira and thank Nicola for a very pleasurable holiday.

Said met us at the gate, settled us in and showed us the highlights of the city on a map. Nicola, the owner was in town on our first night & came over to check that everything was OK. Any minor needs we had were dealt with promptly and efficiently. When we locked our keys inside the guardian let us in within 5 minutes. Everyone, including the other apartment owners were most helpful, the apartment was beautiful & the location was perfect. We would most definately recommend.

We've just returned from a fantastic holiday in Essaouira staying at 'chez Nicola'. The apartment was great, really spacious with a real morroccan charm! We loved the central arched seating area, where we all enjoyed meals and drinks (light the candles to create an amazing atmosphere!!!). Great to have a CD player aswell. All the staff were really helpful especially Fatima our cleaner was lovely and so helpful keeping the apartment spotless.
We were situated right in the heart of the medina with shops and restaurants and cafes right on our doorstep and the beach is great only 5 minutes away, where we did windsurfing and kite surfing!
We'd definately recommend a stay at 'Chez Nicola'! We'll be back!!!!!

This is a great venue for those who like to sample the 'real thing'.
A beautiful apartment right in the middle of things. I was surprised to find we had assistance on hand (should we have needed it) washing machine and the modern luxuries of home. We could wash our towels and swim stuff after a visit to the beach. Great
The food and markets were fascinating; you really get the chance to saviour what Morocco has to offer, it is so different to home, such a different pace of life and local culture. I have sights and sounds that will stay with me forever! If you are interested in getting close to the real morocco I can recommend this apartment, internally its stunning. Enjoy!!

We were a little bit apprehensive about our visit (as 2 single women) after reading a review on the apartment just before we left for our holiday but we were more than pleasantly surprised.
We had a fantastic week - great town, bustling and vibrant medina, lovely people - so helpful when we got a little lost whilst exploring the medina when we first arrived!
The Apartment was fab, really charming and spacious and decorated with some gorgeous artifacts. Fatima the cleaner was lovely and kept the apartment spotless. The roof terrace had amazing views of the sea and medina, we enjoyed breakfast each morning on the sun terrace.
Would definietly recommend and can't wait to visit again

The property was everything we expected. 12 people- Family and friends from around the globe came together to cellebrate kirstys birthday and had a wonderfull week. We dined on the roof top as well as in the local restraunts. The transfers were arranged perfectly and everyone had a good time. The property close to stalls and shops so food and provisions could be bought. We met up at the beach most days which was a short walk away.Thankyou for an unforgetable week and a memorable birthday celebration.
