We had the most wonderful 10 day stay in the property. It was immaculate but still homely. Our two children loved being on the ground floor and having access to the garden and an ocean to see. Youghal is where I was born and of course have a dear attachment to the town. But I have to say this trip was most enjoyable out of many many, easy access to everything. Living in the US our kids dont have the freedom of being able to walk to the ice cream store etc. they loved not having to get in the car. The kitchen had every thing you could need and more. The window seats were so nice and the views meant little reading got done:). The place is very spacious, we had many dinner parties and had plently of room. I would not hesitate to recommend this property, book it so central to so many sites. My husband left lots of tips in the vistors book.

We had a lovely time in this splendid apartment. It was so well equipped and the views were stunning. We took my husbands parents with us. They are both elderly with some health and moblilty problems. The appartment was suitable for them and they were very comfortable. We would like to thank Moira who made us very welcome and popped in once during the week to make sure we were ok. It was lovely to sit at the table in the window of the kitchen and have breakfast, and look out for passing boats. We were grateful for the items of food (bread, milk, tea etc) since we arrived late on the saturday afternoon and were tired after the journey.

Absolutely gorgeous apartment in a stunning location. The quality of the apartments furnishing left our whole family wanting for nothing throughout our holiday. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time and we were sorry to leave the apartment after our weeks stay. The location was excellent for gentle walks into Youghal where we enjoyed several lovely meals. The local golf club gave us the friendliest of welcomes and the course was very enjoyable to play. We were able to find several local beaches and with the good weather we were lucky to have, we thought we were on a holiday in the south of france, not Ireland! Overall, a lovely apartment which wed definitely come back to if we ever get the chance.

Fantastic property - straight out of homes and gardens!! Congratulations to the owners on a beautiful home. Absolute luxury in every room.Location perfect. Facilities in kitchen outstanding. Such a relaxing week and topped off by wonderful weather. The communication and hospitality of the owners was so apparant in the detailed information sent in advance and the warm welcome expressed in e-mails. And Moira who looks after the property is such a friendly and helpful lady. I cant recommend this special place highly enough. But secretly I hope no-one reads these reviews as it will not be long before I try to book another week here and I would hate to be disappointed by it being booked up too far into the future. Thank you once again for a memorable holiday. Martin and Brea from Newry

It has always been a dream to visit Ireland and being able to pass our time in this apartment only heightened our amazing stay. Ideally situated for a stroll around town it provides the perfect starting point to a day if you are able to pull yourself out of the door in the first place. It is stunningly decorated and a joy to have stayed in. Many thanks and I will be recommending this to any and all of our friends wanting to follow in our footsteps.

We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. The apartment has to be the most luxurious place we have ever stayed in. It was furnished to a very very high standard, with everything you could possibly wish for! Both bedrooms were lovely, as were the bathrooms. Each morning whilst having breakfast, we were able to gaze through the windows and watch the boats go by, with the backdro p of beautiful scenery just over the water. The apartment was in an ideal quiet location, with just a short walk to the local shops. We found the local Tesco to be really useful, at a 20 minute walk away. Each evening, we would walk up the hill and down to the beach for a breath of fresh air-delightful. We all enjoyed out trip to Ireland, with everyone being to friendly. Would love to return again. Believe me, when I say, this place takes some beating. Thank you so much for an enjoyable holiday. And to top it all, we were blessed with glorious sunny weather!

What a fantastically relaxing property. My husband and I spent most of our time with a glass of wine staring out at the passing life on the sea wall. We had a very relaxing time and although we very much enjoyed our days out our return home was the favourite part of our day.

We luxuriated for 10 marvelous days at the apartment in the Old Monastery in Youghal. The apartment is beautifully decorated, extremely well appointed (loved the heated floors in the bathroom) and spotlessly clean. Security is excellent. The apartment is perfectly located for boat watching, wandering to town and shell gathering on the beach. If you tire of the peace and tranquility of the apartment and its setting, many tourist attractions and nature walks are within a short drive. This is a well deserved 5 star spot!

We spent a wonderful week in the Old Monastery Apartment in Youghal. Each morning we had breakfast while admiring the panoramic view of the estuary before setting off for our adventures for the day. The apartment really is luxurious with the lounge and dining room in particular being almost palatial. The bedrooms are quiet and comfortable and my husband being a keen chef took full advantage of the state of the art kitchen facilities. We would highly recommend this classically decorated apartment set in beautiful surroundings.

Carol and I have stayed at The Old Monastery on several occasions. The apartment provides a level of luxury that allows you to relax from the moment you arrive. It is equipped to an extremely high standard of comfort and has everything you require to enjoy your stay. Youghal seems to have its own micro climate where the scenery from the apartment across the river Blackwater is ever changing. .

Our visit to the apartment was wonderful. It is decorated to perfectionunderstated elegance....very inviting. The views from the apartment are beautiful. Loved watching the fishing boats come and go,walking on the beach and strolling the town. We were there when it was cold but am sure sitting on the patio watching sunsets would be a joy.

We had a lovely relaxing break in the Old Monastery, - walks around the harbour, strolls on the shore, barbecues on the terrace, enjoying the views across the bay with its water traffic busying to and fro. And the apartment? Great! Close to the harbour and town centre but peacefully quiet, its the last word in luxurious comfort, sparkling clean, beautifully furnished and every last thing we could have needed for our stay, provided. Thank you Bill and Brenda.

This is the first year we have rented our property, but anyone who arrives is welcome to read the Visitors Book for the past 6 years when ALL our visitors have loved the apartment, its location, but most of all the sense of peace and calm which the house gives out.
