The locality takes its name from the medieval tower which dominates a final rocky outcrop of the encircling mediterranean shrub-covered granite hills forming a rugged headland which juts out into the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean flanked by two gently-sloping, sandy-white beaches, 'Cann'e Sisa' and 'Genn'e Mari', both ideal for children and one or the other always sheltered, even on windier days.
