Location and Accommodation
Located in the new Forest Golf and Beach Resort with stunning panoramic views of the sea and the Kyrenia Mountains, this stylish 1 bedroom apartment offers the perfect setting for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy a holiday in Northern Cyprus either by the pool, sea or in the mountains. Just 40 minutes drive from Ercan International Airport, the apartment is fully furnished to a very high standard throughout. A small private terrace can be used for “al fresco” dining, or just taking in the panoramic views.
The apartment is located on the ground floor in Block A of the River Apartments and can cater for up to 4 people with 1 double bedroom and a double sofa bed available in the lounge area. A cot and/or high chair can be provided for a small additional charge. The bathroom is fitted with a wash basin and shower facilities. The lounge and kitchen areas are fully furnished and equipped with a wide range of modern utilities including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, Satellite TV and DVD player to ensure you have a totally relaxing holiday. When you stay at the apartment, you also have access to the rest of the beautifully maintained landscape gardens, 3 swimming pools and numerous other facilities located in other parts of the resort. Free Internet access is also available in the Poppin Bar directly opposite the resort.
The local beach and fishing harbour is opposite the apartment within a 5 minute walk. Most other amenities including shops, bars and restaurants are available in the nearby village of Esentepe, which is within easy driving distance. More serious shopping is available in Kyrenia which is just 25 minutes away by car. All of which should make for an ideal restful holiday at a very reasonable price.

Local Facilities and Amenities
Esentepe village is a 5 minute drive from the apartment and is a quiet unspoilt traditional Cypriot village surrounded by mountain Pine Trees and beautiful sea views. The village has grown rapidly over the last few years and has now become a popular place to live with inhabitants attracted by the nearby sandy beaches the wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and other services available the stunning views the pine forest trails the numerous historic sites championship golf and the prospect of a 500 berth marina that will be built in the next few years.
A few minutes drive from the Forest Golf and Beach Resort, there are several miles of unspoilt beaches, described by many as the cleanest in the Mediterranean with an average temperature of 24C between May and October. The small local beach opposite the resort can be reached by a 5 minute walk whilst larger beaches can be found a little further away.
The famous Alagadi (Turtle) Beach is just a 5 minute drive away with its golden sands that stretch for several miles. During the months of June and July, you can watch the Loggerhead and Green Turtles nest and then see the young hatch and escape into the sea. Nearby, Lara beach is another attraction where you can hire sun beds and umbrellas for the day. Acapulco Beach Club also provides an Aqua park, Tennis, Water sports, a restaurant and a Casino in the evening, for a small daily fee.
For those wanting to test their golfing skills, the recently opened Korineum Golf and Country Club - an 18 hole international standard golf course - is just a 5 minute drive away. Besides the golf course the Korineum Golf and Country Club also provides a private club house public restaurant and bar gym, pool and spa and other general hotel facilities. Its stunning views are unbeatable against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea and the Besparmak mountain range.
Kyrenia town centre is also just a 20 minute drive away with its wide range of shops, bars, international restaurants, and lively nightlife. Kyrenia harbour is a stunning place to eat, drink and while away the time in one of its local bars. There are also many daily boat trips and evening sunset sails to be enjoyed. The castle reflects the mixed history of Cyprus which can be seen in many places along the northern coast, including various Crusader castles and ancient monasteries. All in all there is probably just too much to see in one short holiday.
For those wishing to travel further afield, Nicosia is 30 minutes away and has all of the facilities and history of any capital city. The Troodos Mountains can also be reached in just over an hour for those interested in skiing or mountain walking. Larnaca Airport can also be reached in about an hour and a half, offering alternative flights back home.
Getting There and Around
To get to the Forest Golf and Beach Resort at Esentepe, the nearest International Airport is Ercan Airport, although it may be cheaper to go to Larnaca airport in the south and then transfer to your apartment. You will need to check times and flights as these are sometimes restricted at different times of the year. All flights into Ercan currently need to make a brief stopover in Turkey. Current airlines flying to Ercan include:

* Atlas Jet
Flights normally depart from Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick or Manchester, although different flight connections can be made via Turkey e.g. through Istanbul.
But please check as these are continually changing.
Alternatively, you may wish to consider flights to Larnaca Airport which has a wider range of services, often at cheaper prices. A transfer from Larnaca airport to Esentepe will take just over 60 minutes to drive. Transfers are available for around £50, at time of booking.
