I stayed at Gocek farm house with my partner and our 3 year old son. The house is beautiful and has a lot of character. Everything that we needed for cooking and daily living was at hand. The plunge pool was just the right size and regularly cleaned.Renting a car is completely essential, there are many great places surrounding the area including a water park for children. The centre of Gocek has plently of lovely bars and restaurants across the marina and a few amazing shops selling hand-made tiles, fabrics and jewellry. We had a lovely holiday all together however there were a few things I would have liked to have known about before we arrived, for instance I did not realsie that the second bedroom was totally seperate and quite a distance from the main bedroom and living space, which proved to be an inconvenience for us as we could not leave our son in a seperate place to sleep, it was very dark at night and there was not many lights around the property therefore we had to move a single bed into our bedroom. There were a huge amount of bugs and insects that seemed to be attracted to the property which could be quite unsettling at times and we even came across a scorpion one day on the terrace floor, something to be weary of around children. The holiday was a great experience and the farm house was lovely however probably more appropriate for older children or adults.

We spent our last day doing a local walk, reading, enjoying the plunge pool and the hammock. A perfect end to a wonderfully relaxing stay at The Old Farm House. Thank you Mehmet for all you have done to make this the quirky, quite, relaxing place that it is. Thank you and your father too for making us so welcome. The organic grapes and figs are delicious.

Great house, great place, great people. The 12 Island Boat Trip was fabulous and a good opportunity to cool down with a swim in the sea. Myra is a long drive away, but worth it. Saklikent Gorge is wonderful but buy some sensible waterproof shoes. We are all clean and relaxed after our Turkish Bath and Mud Bath, enjoy yourselves. The Greenhalf Family

Thank you Mehmet for a great holiday. The Old Farm House has been exactly what we wanted a quite and relaxing place to chill out and enjoy the surroundings. The location is really great for day trips. We would definately recommend Saklikent Gorge and scuba diving in Fethiye. For the best kebap try Pasa Kebap in Fethiye and so cheap. All in all we cant fault the holiday at all. Thank you Lizze & Pete

If you want somewhere that provides tranquility, stunning views, a generous and helpful owner, friendly neighbours, peaceful walks in beautiful countryside and nothing to disturb you at night except the sound of owls and other night birds, then The Old Farm House is the place for you. The farmhouse is not deluxe but it has everything you need. It is charming, clean and comfortable and has a lovely homely feel. It is only 20 minutes drive from Gocek where you can get supplies and eat well. We spent a lot of time just relaxing, looking at the view, smelling the roses, reading books and looking at the stars. Very restful and rejuvinating! Mehmet thank you so much for your welcome and helpfulness. It has been a pleasure meeting you and your family.

This is a faboulous place, if youre looking for a house that is somewhat besides the standards tourists pathways, but dont expect luxury. You certainly need a car to reach the house and all the nice places in the region. The landlord is very, very helpful. We had a wonderful time.

we absolutely loved the Old farm House, it was our first holiday as a couple, leaving our grown up children at home and it perfect for peace and relaxation. You really feel so chilled and happy when there. Mehmet was charming and so helpful, he arranged the car hire, someone to take us to and from the airport, an amazing boat trip and a recommendation of the local turkish bath, a complete must on the first day of the holiday. we will return to The Old farm house, it was delightful

We found the property delightful. It was well furnished and well equipped. The plunge pool was more than sufficient for our needs and the water was changed as promised without having to request this. Mehmet the owner was extremely pleasant, spoke very good English and was happy to help in any way he could. We are certainly planning to return next year. If all you want is a quiet and relaxing holiday - this is the place. There are no amenities within walking distance, so a car is required, but Gocek is a pleasant and easy short drive away and has everything you could require.

The Old Farm House couldnt get any better, it was an amazing choice for our first holiday abroad. The peace and tranquillity of the Turkish countryside is just so relaxing. You will especially love the regular visits from an old tortoise we have named Tomas. A visit to Tlos and Saklikent Gorge is well worth it, one of the best days out we have had and in terms of beaches we would recommend Iztuzu Beach at Dalyan. And finally nothing beats a meal out on the terrace after a drive in Turkey. Many thanks Mehmet and your parents for ensuring we had an amazing time.

We absolutely love "The Old Farm House" a taste of authentic, traditional Turkish village life but within easy reach of all the best that the western mediterranean coast offers. Mehmets welcome, recommendations and gifts of fresh organic produce from his parents were fantastic, generous and made us feel part of the family for our time here. The 12 Island boat trip was absolute bliss, a fantastic lunch on board and lots of secret coves. We loved cooking here with fresh produce from Fethiye market. We also had fantastic fish cooked st the fish market. Mehmet recommended Yacca Park (near Tlos) trout farm for lunch which was the BEST freshly grilled trout weve ever eaten with great mezze and very reasonable priced. All in all a great base to explore from, a real taste of Turkey and its amazing hospitable people and also fantastic if you just want to laze. Well be recommending this place to all our friends. Thank you

Ken and Irina - September 2010 We had a wonderful time leading the simple life at the Old Farm House. It is a most relaxing place to "get away from it all" and Mehmet is a great friend who ensures that everything goes smoothly.

Chris and Frances - May 2010 We have had a fantastic holiday. The house is lovely and peaceful and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. We had some great walks in the pine forest and found at least six different orchids. Mehmet took us for a hike high up to the top of the mountain and down again, back in time for sunset. Our favourite outing was to Pinara a fantastic site where you can roam for hours among the cliffs and rocks discovering ruins. The setting is exceptional but quite steep and windy road to get to it. Thank you

Having just returned from two weeks in this wonderful farm house in the village of Gokceovacik in the mountains just 8 kilometers from Gocek, my wife and I feel so rested. The atmosphere is one of calm and tranquility and you can feel your stress levels reducing as you get closer to the village and then the house. This house has all you need to enjoy your holiday. Electricity, water and gas for the hob. theirs air conditioning in both the bedrooms. Good quality units that are not loud to leave on, although we didnt use them as we enjoy feeling the heat of the place after living in Britain. The house is basic by modern standards but has all you need for a good standard of living during your stay. But dont expect luxury. The house is rustic and as such you can expect a slower and more memorable stay. Eating out on the verandah every day as the sun went down over the hills was wonderful. Sitting there and listening to all the village sounds almost throws you back to biblical times. With donkeys braying and chickens crowing, dogs barking and best of all the Imam calling the villagers to prayer 5 times a day. Truly and experience I would be happy to relive again right now. The villagers are very friendly and will tend to give yougifts of peppers or figs as you pass, despite having very little for themselves. Mehmet Kavak, who looks after the property for his company MHM, knows everyone and is always a great help if you have problems. His Father lives in the house below The Old Farm House and often comes to say hello and bring tomatoes or pomegranates, etc. This was his house when Mehmet was a young lad and I think he still likes to wander through the grounds each day. But dont let that put you off. He only passes through and doesnt make a nuisance of himself and actually brings the place alive to a time when things were slower.....if that is possilbe in this village! The roads leading to it are basic loose gravel and forest tracks. Mehmet will probably meet youand take you to the property on your arrival as its so hard to find on your own. This was our first visit to Turkey and I really dont think we could have picked a better place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Again Mehmet helped us book up a suitable restaurant and also arranged for flowers to be delivered to the restaurant for my wife. It is definitely an outdoor living sort of place. Sitting insie to eat at the tiny table is not much fun. You do need to be able to sit out in the evening. But beware! You will get bitten by mosquitoes sitting out at night, but at least you have mossy nets over the beds. The little plunge pool in the garden was good fun and very refreshing in the hot sun. The MHM company will empty the pool after a few days and refill it with fresh water. No chlorine to swallow here. The diameter of the pool is about 7 feet and proved to be bigger than we were expecting according to the pictures. We had a rental car which you will need unless you intend staying in the village for the whole holiday. Theres no shops except in Gokceovacik so you need to travel the 8 kms over the hills to Gocek if you need anything, This house is not for everyone. If you like creature comforts such as TV, then you will need to look elsewhere. This house is rural and rustic and basic. But if you want a holiday home that lets you take a breath and enjoy the quiet life then you wont find anywhere better. just sitting on the loungers and looking at the shooting stars is magical. Therer is so little ambient light in this area that it is a star gazers dream destination. We highly recommend the house, village and the whole area for peace and tranquility. Come and stay and be transported back 50 years in time. Phil & Ann. Cardiff

Milk from the cow, home-made bread and yogurt and local olives from Mehmets parents who work the nearby fields. Splendid barbecued aubergines and kofte, yoga on the platform, endless novels in the hammock - this is a rustic little place, not luxurious but has what you need if you are here to get away from it all - a mass of greenery cooling the heat of the day, a lovely verandah to sip raki and gaze at the pink of sunset, sunbeds and a small dipping pool and amazing walks.

We had a great time here and loved every minute of our holiday. This house was perfect for our family and this location is amazing. Sitting on the terrace and looking at the mountains is the perfect thing. We went to Inlice Beach nearly every day and made lots of local friends. The 12 island boat tour was really good and the sea was amazing. Thank you.

The Old Farm House is a great place to stay. This is a great place to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of home. Great views, lazy comforts, plunge pool to cool off, a perfect mountain retreat. Gocek is a great place, try the Nur restaurant, very friendly and reasonably priced, good food. Loved every minute.

Thank you for an excellent stay in the Old Farm House, so relaxing. The 12 Island boat trip is a must, inexpensive and lots of swimming. A trip to Saklikent Gorge is cool and refreshing and the Tlos ruins nearby. Fethiye worth a visit of course, especially on Tuesday market day. Kayakoy ruins outside Fethite were interesting. In Gocek we ate several times in the Limon restaurant. Thank you.

Megan and Tony – July 2006

We had a wonderful holiday, it was good to be back in Gokceovacik after 5 years. Good restaurants we found were Limon (on the main square), West Café and Blue. The boat / gullet trips are a great way to spend a day. Hope to be back soon.

What a lovely holiday – we were so lucky to have found this “Old Farm House”. The long drive up from Gocek makes you feel as if you are getting to the middle of nowhere, as you top the rise and see the valley before you its as if you have found a secret. Away from the hustle and bustle of the coast this was a perfect little peace of heaven.

Ben and Nicky Osborne
A wonderful house to stay in, you feel a thousand miles away from all the hustle and bustle. Gocek is a lovely town and we ate at the Limon Tree restaurant – good food. We hired a boat to go around the bay and islands, a great day our, as was the river rafting. A lovely holiday, thank you.
