"If you want to visit Turkey and live amongst the Turkish people then Uzumlu is for you. We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks holiday there. Set up in the mountains and away from the tourists, Villa Martin offered us everything we needed and more for our family. It was very clean and extremely comfortable, the website pictures do not do it justice. We all enjoyed the luxury of the pool to cool off in after a day out rafting, diving, swimming, walking, sunbathing etc etc and all this without the ear piercing screams of other peoples little children, only the sound of the birds singing and Gucel and Shenays cockeral now and again. As previously mentioned in other reviews, Fetihye is far enough away to provide peace and quiet yet close enough to go out for dinner or just stroll along the Bazaar soaking up the atmosphere. The Turkish people were very friendly and happy to help with anything we needed and I would recommend Villa Martin and Turkey to any of my friends, it is the first time my husband and myself have left a holiday destination with a heavy heart at the prospect of returning to England. I wonder why!"

Just returned from a week in the villa with my hubby, mum in law and 2 kids. An absolute gem nestled in Uzumlu village. The villa is beautiful, very spacious, immaculately clean and has a lovely homely feel about it, we absolutely loved it. I am extremely fussy and have stayed in alot of nice hotels around the world and I could not find a single fault with here at all!

Villa Martin is a beautiful, immaculately clean property which exceeded our expectations. The rooms are light, airy and roomy with more than enough living and sleeping space for my two children, my husband and I and my mother-in-law. Plenty of towels were provided for us and these were changed at the end of our first week. The pool was cleaned every morning by Senay, one of the caretakers and the gardens were regularly watered and well kept. Senay was very helpful with her local knowledge of the area when asked.
The villa itself is situated in Uzumlu, a small, authentic and charming turkish village. The villa is only a short walk away from the centre of the village where there are a few well-stocked shops which stay open until late. The mountain views around the villa are beautiful especially in the early evening as the sun begins to set.
The nearest town is Fethiye which is only 25 minutes from the villa by car and is a great place to visit for shopping, dining out and a visit to the local Hamam (Turkish Bath) which is a must! A Gulet boat trip is also a must-do and we would highly recommend the Oludeniz cruise. Tlos with its ancient roman ruins is well worth a visit and this was easily combined as a day trip with Yakka Park and Saklikent Gorge.
I would definately recommend Villa Martin to my family and friends and will look forward to a return visit in the future.

The villa is situated perfectly, a very short walk into an authentic Turkish village with real atmosphere. The quiet and peace very welcome after enjoying Fethiye, a 20 minute drive away. Villa was excellent in all respects. The kitchen was very well equiped, the entire villa furnished to a high standard. The photographs do not do it justice. Well maintained with the support of the wonderful caretakers Gurcel & Sanay who were unobtrusive but helpful when required. Downstairs loo a bit tricky but Gurcel sorted it out promptly. Will recommend it to friends but only on the proviso that I have first choice on what I hope to be many return visits.

There was plenty of room for all 5 of us with good facilities, i.e. 3 bathrooms. Tucked up in the mountains of Yesil Uzumlu a car is a must and very easy to drive to and around the area. The local people of Uzumlu are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of shops for all your needs and they open till very late. A visit to the recently opened Kadyanda Roman site is a must. Just a short drive through the village and up the mountain (Be carefull) The views are spectacular and well worth the drive in the end. Martin the owner was alwways ready to answer any concers and easily contactably by email. Senay the sweet Turkish lady who cared for the villa, had made a lovely job of preparing it for our arrival and kept the pool clean each morning. She even made us some delicious cakes. If you had never visited Turkey before like us, then do so you wont be disapointed.

A beautiful, well kept villa with plenty of space.
Everything you would need for a home from home vacation in great surroundings.
Lovely outside area, including garden.
Swimming pool a bit cold, so be prepared. Welcoming caretakers willing to help with advice.
The small town was wonderful, not touristy so we got the feel of the true Turkey. It was great to be outside surrounded by mountains.
The picutres dont do the villa justice - its much more spacious that it looks.
Opposite villa very close, but their pool is out back, so wasnt overlooked.
We had a wonderful holiday, spent a lot of time in the villa and Uzumulu and would most definitely go back.

I thought this villa was superb. There were only two of us in the villa but if there were more there would have been plenty of space. The villa was very clean and tidy and has clearly been looked after well with lots of individual touches. There is a CD player, TV, DVD player in the living room and a selec tion of books for guests to use. The pool and garden were great. The garden is full of flowers and very nice to stay in. The caretakers are also very friendly and helpful.
The village of Uzumlu is quiet but there are a few places to each which are very good and the locals are very friendly and accommodating. There are also several shops too. I am very glad I stayed at Villa Martin and in Uzumlu as I had a very relaxing week.
A short drive away is the main town of Fethiye which is also very nice. This area of Turkey is great and if you want to just sit by the pool/beach then you can but there are also lots of other things to do in and around the area! I just wish I had spent longer at Villa Martin!

The property is in a quiet and beautiful location. Excellent for a retreat. It has everything you need for a perfect holiday. My family had a brilliant time. Whilst the village is within walking distance a car is essential if you want to visit surrounding areas and other parts of Turkey. Finally the caretakers where excellent in providing all that we need. A perfect holiday which I hope we could return one day!

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks holiday in Uzumlu and staying at Villa Martin contributed greatly to our experience. The villa is beautiful and very well kept and furnished with a lovely pool and pretty garden. Shenay and Gursel, the caretakers, are very friendly and helpful and live very close by so are easily on hand. Uzumlu is a traditional village, quite unspoilt, and is in a beautiful location - surrounded by high mountains but within 30 mins. of the coast. There is a good dolmus service to Fethiye running 7 days a week but we found that hiring a car gave us a greater scope and freedom. But beware petrol prices are high - about £1.56 a litre at the moment. I can thoroughly recommend Villa Martin and hope that I can return there in the future.

We had a great week at Villa Martin, set in beautiful countryside surrounded by mountains, it is an ideal location if you are looking for a relaxing week.
The villa was spacious and comfortable with a private pool which we used every day, the people from the local village Uzumlu were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful, we took our two daughters aged 22 and 14 and they both enjoyed it tremendously.
We hired a car for the week which was essential, took a trip out to the blue lagoon and several trips to Fethiye. Wo.uld definitely like to return one day for another holiday

The villa is set in a quiet area five minutes walk from the square in Uzumlu, where there are a couple of restaurants and a little market once a week. We would recommend the wine bar - the food is good, reasonably priced and the people are very friendly. The villa itself is beautiful and finished and furnished to a high standard. The aircon is very effective and the bathrooms have power showers with very good water pressure (very important to my husband!). The Turkish people we met were all very friendly, especially Gucel and Shenay. I would agree with everything in the previous reviews and say that if you are looking to stay in a quiet unspoilt village, within easy reach of the bustle and restaurants of Fethiye, then I would highly recommend Villa Martin.

Just arrived home after 2 weeks at Villa Martin, the villa is fantastic with breathtaking views of surrounding mountains and fields covered in red poppys and typical laid backTurkish village life. The only sound to be heard is that of the many birds and wildlife.
The interior of the villa is beautiful and well laid out with everything you need for a comfortable & relaxing holiday, even a phrase book which we found invaluable.
The villa is well situated away from the hustle and bustle of Fethiye but near enough to travel for a meal in the evening or day out on a sea taxi to some of the local islands. Most essential items can be purchased in the near by village or at the garage just before the village which never seems to close.Theres also a wine bar in the village.
Shenay and Gucel the caretakers are a lovely hardworking couple who went out of their way to make us feel welcome, keep the villa, garden and pool clean and offer information and advice on the area.
This was our first visit to Turkey and its beautiful, the people are really friendly and scenery is breathtaking with lots of little bays to visit. If youve got children they are welcome every where in Turkey.
We`d recommend this villa to anyone its lovely.

I have not actually stayed in this property as I own a villa directly opposite Martin's Villa. I also know the builder who also built my own.
I can only advise that Uzumlu is a typical Turkish village and the people there are very friendly and always willing to help their visitors. There are some local shops which can provide all the necessary items and if they don't have it rest assured they will get you it.
As for the villa, absolutely lovely and very well designed. If you want to take a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts then this is the location. Uzumlu is within easy reach of everywhere and if you don't want to drive then the local dolmush is great and very cheap. I would recommend Martin's villa to anyone wanting to visit the turquoise coast of Turkey.
