Lovely cottage in a great location. Warm and cosy downstairs with the aga and light and bright upstairs. It was freezing outside while we were there, but fine in the cottage. Two minutes from the shops and Kennaway House where our friends were holding an art exhibition, but in a very peaceful lane. Great for the kids scooters! Lots of lovely walks and places to eat in Sidmouth.

Very quaint cottage, clean and airy . Much larger inside than it looks from the outside , think Tardis . Love the Arga , very warm and cosy . Beds very comfortable . Ideal for all the family . Setting could not be better , just a few mins walk to town and beach and the cottge suituated in a quiet lane.

We took a short winter break at the cottage. Warm, comfortable and cosy - the aga was a treat! Heydons House is not to be confused with "Heydons Cottage", a little further along the road, which was occupied by other guests!!!

Lovely cottage in a great location. The sunny courtyard was perfect for relaxing in over lunch whilst our son had a nap. The cottage was really well equipped and the travel cot and highchair saved us bringing our own. Given the proximity to the beach its a great cottage for families. We had great fun getting the car in the garage and were experts by the end of the week.

We had a fantastic week at Heydons House. We parked the car in the garage and left it there all week! There were so many lovely things to do in Sidmouth (the beach, swimming pool, cafes, walks etc) that we didnt feel the need to go further afield. The cottage was fantastic. We used the Aga a fair amount but it does get a bit hot in the kitchen as its on all the time. Would be super and cosy for a winter break! Everything we needed for a fantastic break in a super location.

The property was well equipped, in comfortable, cultivated condition. Location 2 min to the beach is lovely. Not to forget, that we got an excellent and prompt support by the owner for any question. Thank a lot for hospitality.

Found the cottage had everything we needed and more .My wife had fun working out the Aga,and did some toast and some rice on it.The cottage felt more like a home than a holiday place. We did not use the garage as with our car,was a bit on the large size.On the whole,we think we choose a good place to stay.
Owner reply:
Thank you very much for your very nice comments. I am glad you had a lovely time. It is a normal sized garage and fine for our BMW estate but yes, as it is a narrow lane, it can be a little bit tricky to get a larger car in. It's easy when you get used to it. And the fact that there is some parking, in a town like Sidmouth where there is hardly any parking, is a big benefit. (Don't forget there is also the parking space, that we have use of at evenings and weekends, outside the International school office which is only 100 yards away). Hope to have you back again in the future.

Heydons house is located in a gorgeous quiet lane, close walking distance to shops and foreshore. A very comfortable property ensuring a wonderful break. Sidmouth is a beautiful town with lots of charm & character, a get spot to explore the Jurassic Coast along with the surrounding countryside. A gem in Devon.

We have just returned from Heydon’s House in Sidmouth. What a fabulous school half term week we had. The weather was fairly kind and we even ventured on to the Seaton Tram. The cottage is located perfect for the sea front and town centre yet is private and quite. It was immaculate, clean and very warm, it was also much bigger than we expected. We were very pleased with the value for money and would strongly recommend it. Sidmouth is so un-commercialised, has no arcades or kiss-me-quick hats and retains its Victorian splendour, such a nice place. Many thanks for a great time.

We had a lovely stay at Heydons House. The cottage is very warm and cosy thanks to the aga in the kitchen. Its in a perfect location with Sidmouth high street and the sea front just a short stroll away. We had a lovely holiday and have already booked it again for next year!

It was realy very nice to life for 2 weeks in this lovely cottage. It is nearby the international school, which my family and I have visited. So we could go for lunch at home with our children. Very fine.
I enjoyed the stay in the small cottage, the small rooms, for everybody an own sleeping room. And two bathrooms!
It ist so nice, I would life their forever!
Marika
It was better than our expectations!!!

Heydon House is very well placed for all of Sidmouths amenities, of which there are many. It is a lovely warm cottage (due to the Aga in the kitchen), with a pleasant patio garden ideal for al fresco dining, Well worth a return visit.

Location counts for a great deal , and this is exactly what this cottage offers. Within no time at all, one has access to Bowling Greens, Public Gardens, the local market and shops, the Parish Church and the seafront. The cottage itself provides comfort and homeliness, so making for a really pleasing holiday

We found this cottage to be in an excellent location, a few minutes walk from the town centre and very near to the beach. Yet so quite and peaceful.
It had everything that one would need to make your stay welcoming, even a garage that we could store our grandchildrens bikes in. It was clean well presented and equipped.
We are now looking forward to returning next year, perhaps for an even longer period.

A lovely, deceptively spacious cottage a couple of minutes walk from the esplanade and Sidmouths bustling shopping centre. Although well located the cottage is in a quiet area and the outside patio area is a great suntrap for breakfast.
The cottage has a convenient garage, is simply but well furnished, spotlessly clean and has everything needed for a self catering holiday. It provides excellent accommodation and great value for money. Would I book it again?
Definitely.

We had such a lovely time in this beautiful cottage, minutes walk from the town and sea front. Very friendly town and we will definitely visit again.
