Experience real life in real rural France by booking a stay at the Manoir de la Foulquetiere. We stayed in the Manoir itself, a lovingly restored and tastefully decorated gem in the beautiful French countryside in Indre. The gite was spacious and fully equipped. A tranquil rural idyll set in its own grounds, it makes the perfect family gite. Go for evening strolls in the Manoirs own forest. Chat with the welcoming local people in the nearby villages of Lucay le Male and Eceuille. Table tennis is available in the grounds of the gite. Just five minutes walk from the gite across the road is a pleasant camping and chalet site which has three well maintained tennis courts - these are available to hire for 5 euros an hour. Rosemary and Richard are attentive and gracious hosts. Our son, aged 11, loved Alfie, the owners family friendly dog and the two cats, Chloe and Bat. An excellent gite - would thoroughly recommend for a perfect family holiday.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Manor and I would recommend it to anyone. The location of the Manor is ideal for those wanting to tour the Loire Valley, the Chateaux, and the Loire wine country. Richard and his staff were very gratious and friendly they went out of their way to help us, especially the first day when we arrived very late.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Manoir de la Foulquetiere a warm welcome, amazing grounds...lots of room for children to run around, pot belly pigs to feed in the garden! Inside we found big beautifully decorated clean rooms and there is a really unique indoor BBQ which cooked superb steak! This really is a holiday gem, for us it was quiet and relaxing but just a short distance from 2 pretty villages and a larger town with a big Chateaux (great for a family day out - animals, a maze, bouncy castles). We holiday in France a lot and this is property is one that we would visit again.

The Large family gite in Manoir de la Fouquetiere was outstanding. The whole complex was rich in history and tranquility and has been tastefully renovated. The owners were extremely helpful and made our stay relaxing. Filled with interesting antiques and comfortable sitting areas, the gite was warm, clean and offered our family of 6 lots of space.
There are a large range of books and activities in the gite, but the outside areas were a favourite with the pool, swing, forest area, grassed areas, lake for fishing and keeping up with the cats, pigs and dog.
We enjoyed the nearby dairy and the camping area across the road (5 mins walk) that proved to have a gourmet restaurant an extensive playground and large lake for boating and fishing.

Lowely Gite in charming countryside. We had a nice time there with my family (2+3). Our kids loved the wild boars in the backyard. Rosemary and Richard were really helpful and nice to us. They gave us good information about places to visit etc.
Well be back for sure!

What a fantastic place and what Lovely people. Despite concerns about the weather we went in november and yes it was chilly but so divine. The accommodation was lovely and cosy and after a long day of chateau touring we chilled out in our beautiful gite in front of our huge fireplace with a cup of tea followed by wine and cheese. Divine place and divine people. Working on convincing my husband to take me again!

We had an excellent holiday and Rosemary could not have done more for us. Mind she did not do very well with the weather - no sun for 2 weeks!! The grounds and the Gite are peaceful, well cared for and make an excellent base for the Loire Chateau collection. Good local restaurants and Richard has a very good local wine man!
A great place.
