Indre gite rental

The pigeonnier is a romantic gite for a couple to share.

The ground floor has a seating area and dining table with a kitchenette for self catering and leads onto a terrace. A very steep staircase leads to the attic bedroom, which has a carved antique French bed and views over the grounds of the Manoir. There is an en suite shower room adjacent to the bedroom.
Due to the very steep and narrow staircase, which is rather like a ladder, this gite is only suitable for those with a head for heights and the ability to climb the stairs! Unfortunately it does not have disabled access and would not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties. Please see the photographs of the gite.


Manoir de la Foulquetière is a 15th century manoir surrounded by stunning parkland and countryside close to Valencay in the southern Loire Valley. Owned by Rosemary Conquest, an antique dealer and interior designer, and her husband Richard, the Manoir has three self catering gites that are available for guests to book year round. All of the gites are decorated with French antiques and provide luxurious accommodation for groups of 2-8. Guests can enjoy the Manoir’s gardens, swimming pool and woodland while the local area offers vineyards, boating/ fishing lakes and some of the most beautiful chateaux in France.

The gite is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a south facing garden, a west facing patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.
