BBC Beachfront Villa
I stopped on the land one day to look at the impressive sunset across the northern bays of Koh Samui, turned around and saw a for sale sign ... called the number and bought the land within a week. Thats nearly 15 years ago and I still love the view, especially with the brand new villa and swimming pool to sit in. In case you were wodering it is called BBC Beachfront villa because it is located right next to the famous BBC Restaurant - "Big Buddha Café " .. which is located right next to the major tourist attraction - Big Buddha Temple or Wat Prai Yai..
The view from every bedroom and both living rooms is across the lawn and pool to the sea and beyond. The bay in front is home to 3 piers to Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and even to Chumpon on the mainland so there is always boat activity to watch. There are often locals wading in the water in front fishing for squid or small fish or taking shellfish off the rocks.
There is also a small fishing village about 100 metres along the beach where there are may of the traditional Thai Long-tail boats moored adding significant colour to the view.
BBC Beachfront Villla has one of the most stunning sunset views in Koh Samui. Depending on the time of year you can sit in the lounge or in the pool or in the bedrooms and be treated to a stunning sunset.
Looking out over the bay you can see a miriad of boats passing by including small longtail fishing boats, slow ferries to Koh Phangan, large ferries and many pleasure boats.
There are also the occasional planes coming into the aitport which is not far away. It can be noisy sometimes, but we got used to quickly ... or for many it is another interesting thing to look at while relaxing by the pool (the last plane is 10pm so not going to keep you awake all night).
