Main Features
Villa Alexandros Palace is situated in the heart of the historic and pretty village area of Peristerona near Polis in Paphos District, Cyprus. Accessed through iron gates into the extensive private grounds, this impressive stone built villa (with an array of traditional features, and all modern conveniences) has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the Cyprus sunshine.
The villa is spread over 3 levels and has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, (en-suite to master with Jacuzzi bath and king-sized 4 poster bed) and sleeps 10. It has a 8m x 4m private swimming pool with roman steps (can be heated), separate Jacuzzi pool, full air-conditioning, TV with Satellite & DVD, Wi-Fi Internet connection, dishwasher, washing machine, an open fire (for those cooler winter evenings) large stone built bbq, a pool table and more. The setting is both serene and spectacular with the rolling hills of the nearby villages and the not too distant sea at Latchi giving views you'll remember forever.
Peristerona village centre is just 200m away from Villa Alexandros Palace and where you will find a taste of the ‘real Cyprus’. With its mini-market selling fresh (natural) organic produce, coffee shops and friendly locals, you won’t have to travel far to get the most out of your holiday. The nearby village of Steni (2km) provides a further choice of coffee shop (with Wi-Fi) and traditional taverna for dining during the day or in the evening. In nearby Lysos (5km) you will find a well-known hotel (Paradisos Hills) with excellent restaurant, a further taverna, and a few other shops. Activities in Lysos include horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and many walks and mountain bike trails for those who like to be active.
Peristerona is primarily an agricultural village producing citrus-fruit vegetables, cereals, olives and almonds. The name Peristerona derives from the Greek word for dove or pigeon (peristeri). The church, St. Barnabas and Hilarion Church, has five domes on the roof arranged in the shape of a cross, a feature only seen on one other church in the island. Peristerona is always a very green village due to the lush vegetation. It all looks particularly special in winter and spring months and is ideal for photographers, artists and those who like to walk and even hike. It is also home to the famous ‘museum of Arsinoe’ showcasing a stunning collection of Byzantine artefacts.
Slightly further afield, you will find further amenities such as supermarkets (3km), pharmacy, petrol station, and the more extensive choice of bars, restaurants, shops etc in Polis (8km). The nearest beach is at Latchi (12km) which is well known as one of the best on the island. You can relax and sun-bathe on the golden sand by the crystal clear waters, sit in the marina and enjoy lunch eating the day’s fresh catch or for the more adventurous there is a great choice of watersports available for all the family.

The villa's large wooden double doors lead into a large airy open plan space comprising of seating areas on either side, inside dining area and kitchen. The cool and comfortable lounge is furnished with a large sofa and armchairs in rustic style. A 32’’ LCD TV with Satellite & DVD player occupies one side, whilst at the other the centrepiece is an open log fire for those who wish to take advantage of some daytime sunshine and a cosy evening atmosphere in cooler winter months.
The adjacent dining/breakfasting area is equipped with a sturdy wooden table and ten chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has modern appliances including, large fridge/freezer, oven, gas hob and extractor hood, microwave, coffee maker and many other extras. A very useful kitchenette/ laundry room with washing machine, dishwasher and a further oven and gas hob leads off the kitchen. Doors from the lounge area open out onto the balcony which hosts table and chairs (a perfect place for alfresco dining at any time of day) and on to the beautifully kept enclosed garden and private pool area. The views from the balcony are spectacular and take in the rolling hillsides as well as the Akamas nature reserve and the Sea at Latchi beach. A nice airflow is maintained by keeping the front door and patio doors open at the same time allowing comfortable temperatures even in the height of summer.
Making up the ground floor is a double bedroom with king sized bed. The adjacent bathroom with bath and shower over makes this a self-contained area for those who do not wish to climb stairs. There is one further guest WC on the ground floor to keep the shower room private.
Moving upstairs and you will find a further 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom is a double bedroom with king-sized 4 poster bed. The bedroom further benefits from fitted wardrobes, satellite TV and an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.
The second, third and fourth bedrooms on this level are all twin bedrooms and share a bathroom (bath & shower) One of the twins has a TV with Satellite. All upstairs bedrooms have balconies either facing the beautiful countryside and/or the Mediterranean Sea at Latchi.
The villa has air-conditioned bedrooms (charged extra as required) and has proper central heating for cooler off season months (available at a supplement). A travel cot and highchair are supplied free of charge on request. Extras such as pool towels, hairdryer, stereo, toy box
Details of the Exterior
The private grounds and beautifully kept pool area of Villa Alexandros Palace in Peristerona are accessed through a set of iron gates that lead down the long private driveway to the underground parking area (parking for at least 3 cars). There is ample parking at the rear and side of the house.
An outdoor gazebo with picnic table overlooks the centrepiece of the holiday villa's grounds which is a very inviting 8m x 4m private pool (can be heated for a supplement) with roman steps (and ladders) and the Jacuzzi pool (not heated) next to it. The spacious pool terrace is nicely equipped with large sun loungers and parasols that also benefit from natural shade from the palm trees.
A pool table under the house lets the children (or adults) pass time in the shade. Access from this area can also be gained to a changing area with shower and WC so no need to go into the main area of the house upstairs when spending time by the pool. Most of the outside areas afford spectacular uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley and hillside as well as the Mediterranean Sea. The pretty flowers, shrubs and large palm trees add to the atmosphere, making it the ideal place for relaxing in the sun or shade.
Smartly positioned lighting ensures the outside areas can be enjoyed as much in the warm summer evenings as well as in the day time.
**Please note that this property can be accessed at any time after 3pm on arrival day so dont worry if you have a late flight. If during the day we will most likely meet you. If in the evening, we will advise key location. We can arrange taxi transfer by our own driver who knows where the property is and assist with car hire from the airport if desired. A car can also be delivered to the villa on request after arrival. The property is professionally managed (you will always have a contact) and has linen changes and light cleaning on a weekly basis (10-28 night stays). A welcome pack of basic essentials will be in place for your arrival.**
