Property and local area description

Completely refurbished town house in quite surroundings.

This is a spacious property with amazing views of the Alpujarra mountains in all directions, situated in a quite street near the top of the town a short distance from the new sport areal including, swimming pool and two basketball and football courts.The house is laid out on three levels all of which are traditionally decorated with tiled floors to keep the house cool in the summer temperatures. When we bought the cassa it had been in the same family for generations although very charismatic it needed a lot of work to make it safe to live in. We have completely refurbished and re furnished it to bring it up to a sympathetic comfortable but modern standard. At times the traffic consists of traditional goat herders. Some of the fiestas parade around the town and come within a street or two. The atmosphere of the town, the people and the surrounding areas, we feel are just fantastic and hope that you do to.

Made famous by the book by Chris Stewart, Driving over Lemons it really lives up to his experience of the uniqueness of this area. There are plenty of bars and Coffee houses, Great restaurants with the most delicious food. The fiesta's are amazing and very child friendly. The region is rich in Arab descent and was the last holding place of the Moors before it fell to Christian conquest in the 16th century.

I spent a month in this house and it was the most relaxing time, with easy access to many areas in the mountains. Granada and the Alhambra is only 30 mins away, as is the seaside at Motril and the mountains in the winter proved great skiing. I totally recommend Orgiva and the house is clean and well maintained.
