Fantastic setting, eagles soaring, terrace views yet private. Lovely walks but also ideal to unwind and relax. Bedrooms comfortable, sitting room best for four people. Loads of hot water for showers.
Rather isolated so need to bring plenty of food supplies as shop in next village best avoided it seems a long road back to the bigger town to stock up.
Would go again and recommend.

Casa Diaz in Ribota is an ideal place for a traveler who wishes to settle in to a spot and feel like part of the country. The scenery is breathtaking, and day visits to surrounding villages and sites are easy to do.
In the midst of this, Casa Diaz is a home away from home. It's Spanish flavor, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable rooms make it a wonderful place to spend time. The patio facing the mountain is an added treat. There are many paths to walk, and the surroundings are idyllic..
I would recommend this home to those who like to spend time in one place, cook some of their own food, (although there are restaurants in nearby villages), and relax and refresh their souls. It is an appropriate venue for children who like to be outside. A bit of Spanish language would make this even better, but it is not essential.

This wonderful little house is nestled in an amazing valley right in the midst of the Picos de Europa. I was travelling in a group of five women and felt completely comfortable and safe in the village of Ribota. We were surprised and pleased that the weather in October was still suitable for walks, hikes, and even a picnic. We purchased supplies and groceries in nearby villages, from truck vendors which visited "our" village, or in the community of Oseja. The kitchen is well equiped which made meal preparation easy. There is a patio for outside eating which overlooks the village as well as the spectacular surrounding landscape. I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants to experience an authentic and picturesque Spain.

Ribota is a perfect escape from modernity, while this villa provides all the modern needs to make your stay comfortable. The air is fresh and the scenery is magnificent. We went on a 20 mile hike the first day and it was one of the most enjoyable I have ever had. I reccomend visiting the nearby town, oseja (2 mi away) for local food and also a great small bar/restaurant. I highly reccomend this villa for a great family or romantic getaway that will be unmatched almost anywhere else in the country.

This warm, lovely home is situated in the most idyllic setting in Spain and gives the visitor what I believe to be the most authentic Spanish experience available. I cannot say enough of how wonderful this place is. Beautiful surroundings, lots of hikes, wonderful people, and unbelievable food and wine- This is not for the average tourist- this is the real deal, and the authentic experience is not for everyone. Food lovers will not find fancy restaurants on everycorner but they will find families making amazing provincial food in the local restaurants with flavors far beyond what is available in the trendy tapas bars here in the states, The freshest products and amazing cheeses, wild boar sausages , cabrales aged in the local caves and no shortage of availability of Spanish wines to wash them down. This is a place you would find an article on in Saveur magazine. Also for nature lovers, Ribota is located on the edge of the Picos National Park and the government has done a fantastic job of creating and maintaining trails for great hikes. This is the true Spain and one that I hope everyone has a chance to experience.
