Owners overview
Location
The villa was built four years ago and is situated in a quiet picturesque road leading down to Moraira town. Literally opposite the villa is large area of olive trees and the villa enoys panaoramic views across the hills surrounding Moraira. The villa is raised from street level and has a gentle breeze, negating the need for air conditioning, although every room has a ceiling fan. In the Summer the property is bathed in sunlight from 8am to 8.30pm. Both the beach and town of Moraira are 15/ 20 minutes walk away.
The house is child friendly (we have three under 11) with the pool area closed off by a gate (which can also be accessed via the master bedroom). In addition at the front of the property there is electric gates providing safety and security.
Moraira
Formerly a fishing village, Moraira has evolved without the hotels and apartment blocks that other towns like Javea, Denia and Calpe have which has meant it has retained a Spanish feel with the traditional square, church and cobbled streets. It still has its lovely harbour and castle and a great beach too all within walking distance from each other and from the villa.
The restaurants are second-to-none and Moraira has two with Michelin stars. Either side of Moraira are numerous coves and bays which can be easily visited by foot, or by car. Next to Moraira is Portet, another picturesque fishing village which enjoys a wide beach and shallow bay, ideal for swimming. Portet is about a 15 minute walk from Moraira town.
Surrounding countryside
Much to do for kids - Benidorm/ Terra Mitica is only 30 minutes away. Javea is only 20 minutes away and has one of the best beaches in the area plus more great restaurants. Travel just 20 minutes inland and you can appreciate beautiful landscapes, mountains, unspoilt Spanish villages. The towns of Denia, Valencia, Olivia and Gandia are all well worth a visit.
Moraira itself is great for kids of all ages. There is a fun fair, jet skis near the beach, volley ball, a number of tennis courts, a go-kart track and a nightly street market in Moraira town every night.
