I am a travel writer from Turkey writing for the largest selling newspaper, Hurriyet. I have 6 books and have been awarded 'The Best Travel Writer of Turkey', two years consecutively (www.saffetemretonguc.com). My readers always ask for my favorite place for vacation. Sedir is the answer. This is heaven on earth. The Tarhan family is my reason that I feel at home here, they spoil me with their personalized care. Food is organic coming from their own garden. The mother Filiz cooks, the father Baki is in charge of the barbecue, two wonderful children Orcun and Barkin run all the time for the ultimate happiness of the guests. The spacious rooms are spotlessly clean and gardens are well maintained. Breakfast with home made bread and jams, wonderful dinners by the pool compliment a fantastic stay. As this is my heaven I would like to stay forever...

Sedir Resort rated "excellent" by 11 travellers on Trip Advisor !
Sedir Resort is listed in the Dalyan accommodation section of the tourist guide book "101 MUST SEE PLACES IN TURKEY"
Review submitted by Anne from Rowney Green UK (Submitted: 5 Aug 2008)
the accommodation was very comfortable and our hosts could not do enough for us their hospitality and customer service was excellent. We felt as if we were part of their family for two weeks and we really enjoyed that.
The house was set in beautiful gardens with fruit trees, and a brilliant swimming pool. There is also a tree house which was a great place to cool down. Every convenience was to hand if you needed it and food and drink was available all day. One thing rather surprised us: the food, excursions and drink at the resort were quite expensive, as in Turkey generally, and added up to quite a large bill at the end of our holiday. However, this did not spoil what was a wonderful break and were very grateful to Baki, Filiz, Barcan and Orcun for making it such a relaxing and enjoyable time for us. Thank you.

There are many reasons to visit Turkey; the near-perfect climate, the delicious cuisine, the sun-drenched beaches, the hospitality of the people – but only 2 compelling reasons to return time after time; The Tarhan Family & Sedir – a peerless holiday combination!

Dear Feliz and Baki,
My family and I would like to say that our holiday was outstanding.
Having traveled to many parts of the world and I can honestly say our stay with you was one of the best. You and your family and not forgetting your staff made us feel really welcome, you hospitality was second to none.
I will most certainly recommend that any one wanting to visit Turkey stay at Sedir.
You and your family are truly great ambassadors for Turkey.
I look forward to our next meeting.
Kind regards
Your friend

Dear Filiz Hanim and Baki Bey,
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the warm welcome and hospitality you provided at Sedir in late July. It was a truly wonderful and restful experience which I continue to think back upon wistfully. Everything was ideal, from the immaculate rooms to the bucolic surroundings to the delicious meals. What impressed me most was your attention to detail, as nothing escaped your notice. (I still vividly recall the artfully cut cheese and cucumbers at the breakfast buffet!) That, combined with your sincere hospitality made for an altogether relaxing, highly enjoyable getaway.
Many thanks, and I hope to see you in future years.

Dear Baki, Filiz, Orçun, Barkın (Ricky & Baxi)
You are all such wonderful ambassadors for Turkey. On our first visit to your country we did not know what to expect but you have all made our stay here a fantastic experience. We came as strangers but we leave feeling as though we are part of the family.
We take with us so many memories lazy days by the pool, the simple pleasure of eating our meals "al fresco", the smell of food cooking in the clay oven or on the barbecue. Filiz' delicious meals, watching the moon rise over the mountain with a glass (or two) of raki or wine!
We have learned to play Turkish board games and joined in the folk singing. There have been many special days. The jeep safari to the mountain and Iztuzu (Caretta) beach and the wonderful trip to Saklıkent Gorge, where Matt kept falling over, and swimming in the deep blue waters of Ölüdeniz. Dan and Matt especially enjoyed the friendship of Orçun and Barkın. Most of all we have enjoyed your special hospitality. Of course we will miss all of these things but the memories will remain strong until the next time.

Dear Friends
We can call you that because that is how you have made us feel ..!
All we can say thank heavens for the internet ..We were looking in Greece and
some how found ourselves in Turkey.. The best mistake we ever made ..
Spoke the Drummonds who confirmed what we saw on the website Baki , Filiz
family and staff made us feel comfortable and to quote others a part of their
family ..
The standard of cleanliness and helpfulness is second none.. Sedir is an Oasis
of peace and tranquility ..
Turkey is the most beautiful country and as first timers in the country what
a perfect introduction !
We have found the Turkish sense of humour absolutely brilliant and have so
enjoyed.. The conversation and laughter at dinner under the stars at Sedir..
We never return to the same place twice but with Sedir we make an exception ..
We will be dragged away to the airport screaming !!!
Until next year many thanks

The Sedir Apartments
I have thought long and about what we can write regarding our holiday at the Sedir in Dalyan, but I find it bard top put into words the feelings we have. It has been three years since out last holiday so we needed a good one we choose the Sedir hotel this web site, and buy did we choose well. We have travelled in several areas of the world and I am still to find anywhere that will even come close to matching the Sedir. The rooms are cool even in mid July. Baki and Filiz made us feel like one of the family. Most evenings we cooked barbecue or superb tradiotional home cooking from the clay oven and on the rest of the week a short walk into Dalyan in the cool evenings. After a few drinks and a quick Raki with our new friends from " Paradise Gold", it was into the "The Sedir deep" with Riky the dog for our short trip through the town and back to our peaceful haven "The Sedir" each morning we woke to the sound of the cockerel at the bottom of the garden and after a breakfast of fresh yoghurt home made of course by Filiz. We sat by almost "Olympic pool" only looking but it was big and enjoyed each day as much as the last Baki and his family are genuine people the type I feel we could know for the rest of our lives. We still don't know what the words to the songs they sang in the evenings really mean but the sights sounds and feelings of the The Sedir will stay with us until the next time we visit. If you are in any doubt about the Sedir you can contact myself and Rachael. We are from the UK.
