This was our fourth visit to the villa, and once again it was another great holiday, Lots of lovely memories. The weather was extremely hot and the pool was much needed to cool off, The villa is lovely it has lots of space and has everything we needed, The outside looks lovely since it has been landscaped it seems alot bigger .The terrace is a nice place to sit as you get a nice breeze from one side to the other. Looking forward to our next visit! A big Thankyou to Diane, and her team

We had a fantastic holiday at the villa. Exactly what we were looking for - peaceful, beautiful scenery, fabulous pool and facilities. Novelda is a lovely typical spanish town and we enjoyed the easy pace of life there. The villa itself was spacious, spotless and had every convenience. The pool and casita area were really lovely and we spent many hours there and had lots of bbqs. Would love to go back again.

What can I say .... the villa was fantastic, everything we expected and more. I realise now what other reviewers meant by they didnt want to say it was excellent value as they didnt want others to go. We found the whole experience was very well organised.Pool was a god send as it was very hot.NICE!! the Villa itself is very well kitted out and although my friend and I are adults we enjoyed squirting the Hubbies with the super soakers. We also liked the small home touches like the selec tion of cds, dvds and books. We would definately book again.

Just had a 4 day break there with 4 of my friends. Facilities in the Villa were excellent. Super views from the Villa of surrounding countryside. Villa was more spacious than I thought. Novelda townfolk were very friendly indeed. Motorway connection was close and as a result access to all other towns we visited was pretty easy, i.e. Alicante, Santa Pola & Benidorm.

Absolutely marvelous. The pictures do not do this villa justice. Superbly equipped and quiet and peaceful. almost reluctant to give a positive review in case too many other people book it, leaving less choice of dates for us. Owner allowed us to stay on a few hours after contractual time as our flight home was not till evening.

the property was very comfortable and clean, had everything you could possibly need for your stay. the pool was fantastic especially with the extremely hot weather we had on our stay, it was also in a very quiet area there are a few neighbouring houses but due to the villas slightly elevated position it always felt private, there are fantastic uninterupted mountain views as far as the eye can see. (oh and if you decide to go for a walk to the nearest mountain go in the cooler part of the day ie. late afternoon early evening instead of midday like i did! not a good idea). the position of all the patio areas around the villa are a sunbathers dream come true from the moment you get up to sunset you are basking in pure uninterupted hot sunshine. nice! i will hopefully be booking another holiday at this villa at sometime in the near future

Once again we had a lovely time. This was our third time there and we enjoyed it as much as the first time there. It was good to have wi-fi as with the children having I-pods and a laptop we were able to keep in contact with family and friends, The pool was refreshing as the temperatures were exceedingly high. The children were always playing in the pool. The gardens were lovely as a lot of the plants were in bloom. The villa had everything we needed. Thankyou to Diane and her team.

This was our first family holiday abroad with our two boys (now 5 and 7) and from the initial booking Diane was extremely flexible in meeting any requests / questions and was always willing to go that little bit further to help out. (She even went as far as contacting airlines on my behalf when I was looking to book flights). The villa is both spotless and really well equipped. It was a little oasis of tranquility with the boys living in the pool all of the time we were there. The neighbours would all wave to say hello and we even made friends with one of the neighbours dogs. All in all Diane made the process of organising the holiday as painless as she was able to do and I would recommend the villa to anyone looking for a bit of peace in the sun.

The Villa is beautiful. Fully equipt, a home from home. The pool is very refreahing and cooling after baking in the sun, the garden is far better than the pictures on the web page, pretty flowers and fruit trees. A hire car is essential to get to and from the villa and to see the local sites. Locally, all you need is just a few minutes away. Lots of tourist info in the red box in the villa. Would visit again, in a heartbeat!

Owner reply:
Many thanks for your kind comments. We are really pleased that we were able to offer you another weeks holiday at no extra charge following the volcano ash problem in April. Glad it was worth the wait.

We have been to this property once before and once again we had a fabulous time at the villa and bathing in the pool, It is an ideal location for getting away and recharging your batteries. The children were never out of the pool. The villa has everything, all home comforts, English Sky TV, spacious rooms and great outside space. Weve booked our next years holiday here again, this is our third time here. Also Diane the property owner is very helpful and always make sure you have everything you need.

We arrived at the villa after a very stress free drive from the airport which took about half an hour. We had received very easy to follow clear directions from Diane. Upon arrival loved the villa, very clean and spacious for the three of us. Well equipped, plenty crockery etc.We were so lucky with the weather, hot and sunny every day. Lovely peaceful location, very quiet. Peace and quiet only ever disturbed by our rather loud daughter in the swimming pool!! She is 8 and was happy playing in the pool most of the holiday. Both the owner and managers of the property were very helpful with any problem and rectified as best they could. Thank you. We had a lovely relaxing anniversay, whilst on holiday made extra special by your thoughtfulness. Azra, Paul and Lucy-Annabelle.

This was a review from guests staying at the villa, when there were issues with the Volcanic Ash. We were delighted to receive such a lovely letter:

Dear Diane
Just a few lines to say many thanks for helping us to have a very enjoyable holiday at your wonderful villa. The weather was varied, but all said overall was superb. The villa far outweighed our expectations, total peace and tranquillity.
Even after your responsibilities had been fulfilled, you continued to serve professionally by allowing extended use of the facilities.
As if that were not enough, in our hour of need, you still offered extra accommodation if required.
Your sincerity went over and above all of our expectations. For that we thank you sincerely.
Once again, many many thanks
Paul and Linda

This was a last minute booking so hadnt much time to plan or find about the area. The owner supplied us with so much information and help before we went. The villa itself is perfect - attention had been made to details - it was without doubt the cleanest and well equipped villa we had ever been in. The location is beautiful, so peaceful and tranquil. Town itself has everything there - had some lovely food, looked around the historic sites - really lovely. Now we have found this, we will be coming back. Thanks

sorry about submitting this late......... we have tried to think of things to say, that hasnt already been mentioned previously, to make it an interesting read....but its difficult. Ok - the villa cant be beaten. The space, the peace and quiet is perfect for a relaxing holiday. It is clean, has everything that we needed, and the pool sparkled it was that clean. We did a lot of family things - we went for walks around the villa, most of the paths were free from traffic, looked at the different birds and rabbits - talking all of the time - i cant remembe last time we did that!!!! The villa is safe for children - fully enclosed garden which is huge, and the pool has a gate. The town, which is a real Spanish Town, had so much for us to see - museums, Modernista house - we went twice to this - the sanctuary and 12th Century tower, the parks, tours around the bodega - it is so interesting. Out and about is lovely - good road network, great shopping - the beaches are lovely but we only went there once, and that was because we thought we should!!!!!! . The bars and restaurants welcome children, and the food is not only good value for money, but fantastic quality too. We are converts to Menu del Dia! The stars are so clear in the evening, and from the villa looking towards town, it was lovely to see the town lit up. The neighbours are friendly, and helpful - English speaking Spanish lady, the property managers are very helpful, the owners very prompt with questions and helpful even before we went. All in all - if you want a relaxing holiday to recharge your batteries, with all of the home comforts - and more actually as we dont have a dishwasher - where the shops are nearby this is the place for you.....it is perfect. Overall - excellent value for money, we have already recommended it to friends, it was everything we expected and more.........

Its was spotless, had everything that we could possible need. The pool was bliss - very clean and safe and well needed in the hot weather. We bought local wine, sat on the terrace and chilled out. Just a perfect place. Thank you

We have visited Villa Novelda on two occasions now and we will most certainly be visiting again in the future! The Villa is very highly equipped with everything you could need, including comprehensive details and instructions for places to visit (and local shops/ supermarkets). The Villa is in a perfect location for a peaceful relaxing holiday and the addition of its own pool is fantastic. The Villa is only approx 30 mins from the main town of Alicante, which has a lovely marina, beach and great bars and restaurants. On arrival at the Villa a welcome pack was provided which included food items, water, beer and wine, which was great and very useful, especially if you arrive on a Sunday as all of the shops are closed! I would definately recommend a visit to Villa Novelda.

From the second we pulled up to the gates of the villa we were impressed. The pre-holiday communication from the owners was great and the directions from the airport, sent with the keys, were a great help. The villa really is set in the mountians, just as it looks in the pictures. The villa itself is beautiful. Well laid out, neat, tidy, clean and in great condition. A lovely welcome pack and note awaited us from the property managers, milk, bread, drinks and even easter eggs for the kids! We couldnt have had a better first impression and that lasted for the whole holiday! Exceptionally well equipped both in the villa and the pool ( lots of inflatables etc ). As in other reviews, the pool was more than a little chilly because of the time of year, but that didnt stop our 5 and 6 year olds swimming most days. We had a couple of days out, the local beach is lovely, Benidorm was about an hours drive and just as you would expect, nice beach. lots of English cafes etc but spent most of our ten days at the villa relaxing. We went for a relaxing, peaceful holiday and thats just what we got with all the added extras you could ever need. Thank you, we will be back!!

If you are looking for a get away from it all relaxing holiday without the hustle and bustle of a sprawling tourist resort on your doorstep, then Villa Novelda is definitely for you. The location is peaceful and relaxing, set in the hills, inland on the Costa Blanca. The villa itself is beautiful, with everything that a family could want in terms of keeping themselves entertained - lovely pool (which was just a bit too cold for us in October, but perfect (Im sure) in Summer), barbecue, outside dining area, lovely scenery and, inside, a multitude of CDs, DVDs, games and a full Sky TV package. The town of Novelda is just 5 mins or so away by car, but, although nice, it certainly is not geared up for tourists - we found very few English speakers and finding bars/restaurants was harder than you would imagine, but we were more than happy to spend the bulk of our time in and around the villa. Diane and Zane (the owners) could not have been more helpful....they even organised a birthday cake for my daughter when we were there (on top of the excellent welcome pack that was provided). We will definitely be booking up agin.

This villa exceeded our expectations. The welcome we were given from the managers Penny and David was warm and friendly. The welcome pack was gratefully received after our journey and ment we could wind down before having to get the shopping. The villa was extreamly clean and homely. The kitchen was very well equipped, from dishwasher to cool bag and ice blocks it seems that everything has been thought of. The outside kitchen was much better than shown on the website as was the whole villa and the setting. It was really good that the children had inflatables and toys to play with in the pool and a good DVD collection to access in the afternoon when the weather got very hot. The area is very interesting and Novelda has everything you need if you dont fancy driving too far. We would strongly recommend this villa to anyone who has high expectations as they will not be disappointed.

hi. I am more than happy to review this property, my problem is - i think i will will write too much. Before we booked, our expectations had been set very high after reading the excellent reviews so there is always a danger that there could be some disappointment. However - this was not the case.During the booking phase, Diane responded to our enquiries almost immediately. She provided useful inforamation and contacts, as well as local knowledge which would be useful. The directions to the property were very detailed, and easy to follow and the journey was pain free from the airport. The villa itself has everything we needed plus more. Outside provided so many places where you could find your own peace of quiet to read a book away whilst the family played in the pool. The weather was very hot, yest there was plenty of shade if you wanted it. the villa has been furnished as if its a home - it was great to be able for the whole group to have beds as in most other places we have stayed - some of us have needed to use a sofa bed. There is plenty of crockery and cutlery to use and everything was clean.the bonus for us was the welcome pack, which we didnt expect but it made a big difference to relax etc before we needed to shop. The town is lovely, and has plenty going for it. Its historical building are a must see.we didnt see any other English people, but we didnt really notice this until we were on our way home. It was lovely to eat in the Spanish restaurants, with the Spanish and they go out of their way to help. The local bodegas are the best places to buy wine - so cheap but top notch quality. as you can probably tell - we had a spledid time, we really did. we feel relaxed, batteries charged and theefore we will be going. thanks very much.

We had an excellent week at Villa Novelda, all our needs were catered for, the "welcome " hamper was much appreciated . The pool was a little chilly in April but the location of this villa is fantastic especially if you are looking for a peaceful holiday. It is near enough to the local town of Novelda should you need any supplies or wish to eat out but when you return to the villa the peace and tranquilty returns. Great for families or couples young or old.

this was our first trip to spain and our experience has been made an excellent one. the villa was lovely and clean, the pool was great especially as the kids could not excess it without us, the grounds to the villa are great and the kids loved being able to play outside without any worry. The owners and managers were both very helpful and lovely to deal with just what you want. We are definatley looking at going back next year. The town aswell was very much real spain which is what we wanted. Thank you for a great hassle free stay and making us feel welcome anytime. Sarah.

Thought the villa was excellent and extremely well equiped. I stayed there in March and even though the weather was fair and sunny it was a shame that the pool was too cold to use as that would have made the trip perfect. However if it was peak season i can well imagine that the fact the pool is not heated become irelevant. I certainly hope to visit the villa again. especially as its so easy to get there from Alicante airport. The perfect getaway for a relaxing time out style holiday.

We have stayed in a lot of properties and the standards of cleanliness and comfort vary tremendously. This villa is definately at the top of the scale of excellence. The cups - white - the cupboards spotless, the fridge/freezer spotless, bathrooms are shining, dishwasher clean and smelling fresh, oven spotless. Sorry if this sounds a bit fussy - but it is so so important. The welcome pack allowed us enjoy a drink and some lunch without having to rush out and buy shopping. The area around the villa is full of grapevines, almond trees, orange and lemon trees - so lovely and different from home. we had lovely walks and didnt see a car for hours - so quiet. The people in the houses that we walked past all waved and shouted Hola - which was lovely - we felt like a local. The shops in the town have everything we needed, even the local tabaconist and paper shop by the garage arrnaged to have our English newspaper delivered. Everybody we met was welcoming and pleased to help. As you can tell, we really enjoyed the whole experience and we will be going back. Thank you.

we were impressed before we even arrived at the villa, as the very quick responses from the owners and information provided was second to none. We travelled with babies, and they were well catered for - highchairs, travel cots etc - that was a weight off our mind and our arms, as we didnt have to carry as much luggage. The villa is spotless - the location superb. We enjoyed the town, markets and museums - and came away from the holiday feeling that we had really had had a holiday and experienced the Spanish culture. Excellent!

We always try to stay in real Spain - which normally means travelling miles and miles to escape the English pubs, packed beaches, etc etc. This villa was recommended to us by friends who had already visited - and gave it a glowing report. Within 30 minutes of beaches, airport, historical sites, museums, real spanish bars/tapas/restaurants shopping - but the real beauty was the peaceful location. The views are beautiful, you can see for mles around, we really did feel that this was our haven. Inside the villa does not disappoint. it is spotless, thoughful touches like a free welcome pack, huge amounts of local information about the town, area and places to go - and see. The neighbours are friendly, we were invited into their house to show us the work they had done. The local bodega was splendid - as was there wine and food. I apologise for the long winded comments here, but hopefully this will show what a great holiday we had, and can fully recommend this villa.

The visitors book at the villa, which we read and enjoyed, confirmed we had made the right choice for our holiday. I can only agree with the other reviews and add the trip to Tabarca (from Santa Pola) is well worth while. Try real spain, inland areas have so much more to offer.

best holiday we have had - the children had plenty to keep themselves occupied. Which left us to relax. Excellent bodega near by. The market has everything we needed, and the nuns in the santuary make a "strong Coffee". Its hard to believe with the peacefulness of the villa, it is only 25 mins drive to the beach. Best of both worlds.

Diane couldn't have been more friendly and informative beforehand - making the whole experience so much more personal than renting through a holiday company as we have done previously. The facilities and books, toys, DVDs are good and I don't feel the photos of the interior of the villa do it justice. The swimming pool and terraces were great and enjoyed by us all - particularly the kids. Being based on the side of a hill there often ssemed to be a breeze and as the temperature hit 46 degrees on one day this was necessary! To fully enjoy a holiday here you need a hire car and a Spanish phrase book. This is the real Spain, not a tourist resort, and all the better for it. But if you are looking for the facilities of Benidorm on your doorstep then this is not for you. Property Managers Dave and Panny were helpful and we had a great holiday. I would thoroughly recommend it.

3rd visit to Villa Novelda and it just keeps getting better. The new BBQ house/Casita is splendid. We spent every night watching the sun set in peace - exellent. The villa is spotlessly clean, and the welcome pack an excellent start t the holiday. Made another visit to the Modernista house in Novelda town and is more amazing everytime we go. We missed the main fiesta this year, which is a shame, but the bike race to the Sanctuary was lovely - with free food, drinks and a great atmosphere. Thanks for another wonderful visit.

An excellent villa that feels like a home not just a holiday property; the owners have supplied everything a family could need. We have stayed twice and the new Casita and sun terraces improve it further still. We would reccomend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful break, in the real Spain, in a well equipped villa.

I wish we could find something bad to say about this property because it's getting too many good reviews and will become more difficult for us to go back again!! However, try as we might we cannot find fault with anything and the recent improvements to the property have made it even better. But if you don't like great views, great facilities, a great pool and a great location then this property may not be for you!

Great location for exploring inland as well as easy access to beaches - we particularly enjoyed visiting the Art Deco house and castle in Novelda, and exploring Elche. This is the second time we have stayed at Villa Novelda, and it was great being able to use the new Casita (summer kitchen) for barbeques. The kids loved playing on the new terraces and exploring around the villa - there are lots of footpaths, and we climbed the hill behind the house a couple of times. Great place to stay, in excellent condition, no hestiation in recommending it.

Directions to the property, beach town etc were excellent - much better than sat nav!! Villa NOvelda was very well equipped with everything, and more, that you could possibly want. All the facilities that we could want for our Grandson (highchair, travel cot etc) were provided. We made the most of the BBQ and Summer house for outdoor dining, and relaxed on the sun loungers around the pool and other tterraces. The views and area are lovely. We enjoyed eating out at the restarants and tapas bars, and were made to feel very welcome and it was much appreciated when we tried to speak Spanish. Good supermarkets, and Lidl have an excellent butchers. The market is fantastic. We will definately be returning.

Villa Novelda is beautiful. It has three large bedrooms, each with good storage space and the master has a lovely en suite. The kitchen has everything that you could possibly require, including plates suitable for children so there was no need to worry about breakages. The villa was immaculate when we arrived and felt that the welcome pack was exceptionally generous and a nice touch. There are plenty of bathroom towels and pool/beach towels and plenty of bedding. The Pool area has a lockable gate for peace of mind and is surrounded by tiling that doesn’t get hot so is ok to walk on even on the hottest of days. The pool itself is ideal. The steps to get in are safe enough for those who are not steady and there is a shallow and deep end. our children aged 12, 9 and 5 would have stayed in it the whole holiday if they could but there is a lot to do and see both in town and in the surrounding villages. The information folder contains excellent directions to local places (beach, super market etc) and leaflets for places to visit. The views of the surrounding area are spectacular and the (Spanish) neighbours are very friendly. We even took part in the huge Moors and Christians fiesta, where we carried candles along the roads with the locals. We were made very welcome. Both The property owners and property managers are very helpful and easily contactable during the stay. I would certainly recommend this Villa to others’.

Do go there! The location is nice and secluded, and you are far enough away from mainstream tourism to give you a feel of what Spain is really like. Villa Novelda itself is immaculate - the pool is lovely, the kitchen is nice and modern and all needs (even a superb DVD collection) are catered for. This is just the place for a holiday.

Although our stay was only a few days we immediately felt 'at home' as the Villa felt like a home rather than a rental property. There was also a genuine desire from the property owners that we should enjoy our holiday and they were extremely helpful from when we booked right through until our holiday ended. I'm not going to praise it any more otherwise it will become too popular and we won't be able to book it again!!!

We found the villa offers an excellent opportunity for holidaymakers to visit Spain, by which I mean the real Spain. We had a wonderful time exploring the wide and varied culture, plus my favourite the gastronomical feasts that where on offer. We found the locals to be friendly and so willing to stop and chat, we were even invited to look around a neighbours Villa. The Villa itself contained all we needed to make our holiday a pleasant and comfortable stay. We could not find fault and can only offer praise to the level of satisfaction that was delivered by the owners. The level of detail was second to none, especially nice was the food that was left for us being as we arrived on a public holiday and no shops would be open. A car is essential and well worth it for the opportunities it allows for discovery. If you are interested in Spain, would like a relaxing break at your pace, and want the comforts of a lovely Villa I recommend you consider Villa Novelda.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. It was very well kitted out with everything we needed for the children (cot, high chair, toys, plastic plates, DVDs etc), everything was in good working order, and the accomodation was great for our family with the two bathrooms and plenty of space around the villa to play in. The kids loved playing around outside, and with the lock on the pool we could relax knowing they were safe. All the arrangements worked well, and we had good local support. Novelda is a good base to cover both beaches (which we went to a lot) and some of the more interesting inland sites. Overall, great value for money, and a great holiday.

we spent a week in this villa in August, and didn't want to leave it all week. The children played in the pool and garden, and it was relaxing for us not to worry about the amount of noise they made affecting the neighbours. Everyday, we walked either up the hill around the back of the house, or around the lanes which surround the property. We found nice restaurants and enjoyed the market.
We will be going back!
