We were very disappointed to find the following faults with the property:
TV not working - fridge door broken - light hanging off the ceiling - shower cubicle door broken - air conditioning faulty - curtain pole fell off the wall due to a previous makeshift repair - broken sun lounger. We were later informed that the owners were already aware of most of these and with some general maintenance this could have been a nice property.
There were no smoke alarms or any fire safety equipment.
General description of the area and the facilities available given on the website was very misleading because it wasnt up to date.

We spent there two weeks at this august. Property met our expectations, and in some points exceeded them. Local contact was very helpful. Excellent and quiet environment.
Local beach is close and clean, but is very shallow. If you want to swim, go to La Manga or Calblanque. Anyway - renting car is highly recommended.

This property is a great little holiday house. Really well equipped kitchen. Good furniture for family of 5 as we were. Some things were not as expected: eg no access to pools due to no/broken keys etc, we ended up getting help from the neighbours. Eg TV never worked, tho DVD did.
Local support is minimal: pleasant but ultimately you feel like youre on your own. You absolutely have to have a car, there is so little locally on hand, and there is no other transport to speak of. With a car, Mar Menor is a great area for a holiday.

I could not give this property a bad review as it was very clean and comfortable and had everything we required. However just a few minor gripes as there was no tv channels available as advertised. One of the lights upstairs was out and the shower is extremly difficult to master it can go from cold to scalding within seconds so be careful. Our contacts Bob and Fran could not be more welcoming and helpful. You definately need a car to get around unless you just want a totaly relaxing holiday. The restaurants round about are very good and everyone is very friendly. We had a great holiday here and I would recommend this property for a pleasant stay.

There was a certain degree of concern when we arrived. The owner did not respond to the phone number we were to call to arrange to meet him at the property. We went to a bar near to where we had been directed: the (English) proprietor did not recognise the name of the owner but sent us off to another nearby (English-owned) bar, where the owners name was, thankfully, familiar.
A telephone call brought the property manager who did not appear to be expecting us. Fortunately the house was ready it was now 9.00 pm. I can only wonder what would have happened if the second bar owner had not known who we were talking about - stuck in a Spanish resort at that time of night with three small children and nowhere to stay would not be my idea of a good start to a holiday!
The house was spacious enough for us, and clean save for the sheets and pillow cases having that "washing" smell which forced us to wash them all again.
The air conditioning in the bedrooms worked well. Apparently the owner has not been there for some time (why were we given his number?) and the place is in need of some TLC.
We had the use of a nearby (50 yards) private pool, which was quiet and well kept, and in addition the pool adjacent to a decent bar/restaurant 5 minutes peaceful stroll away where there was a lifeguard on duty.If you are gooijng there in the near future phone Bob on 0034 67 9560 130 rather than Martin Lacey.
Owner reply:
I have been in contact with this guest and apologised for the miscommunication. We very unexpectantly had to change our local agent due to ill health with our previous, the contact details were unfortunately overlooked at the time with so much other information to pass on but have now been rectified. We will be reviewing the other comments regarding the linen and TLC as we take all reviews seriously. Our apologies to Paul and his family.

The property was described and more. We enjoyed the community and overall climate of the place.
Impressive choice of pubs and restaurants for relatively small place.
Thanks to the owners for friendly environment and valuable info in the booklet. Thanks to property manager for the job well done.

The property and service we received was beyond our expectations. The accomodation was well equipt, clean and spacious and we spent lots of time out on the terrace enjoying the weather.
The house is close to all local amenities with a quiet pool and new bar/restuarant less than 1 minute away.
The airport pick up and local knowledge offered by the property manager was incredibly useful and we really enjoyed the local activities which were recommended to us.
I wish we could have stayed longer!

The property was as described and very clean. On a quiet site near to the pool and beach which suited us.
Air conditioning in both bedrooms however the property could do with air conditioning in the living area and this got quite hot and stuffy.
I would recommend this to families and those who wish a quiet/relaxing holiday.

An excellent property in a quiet location which is exactly what we wanted. The property has all facilities and ample room--we have 3 young children so this was important to us.The community pool was great few steps away and always not many there apart from us so rather private. The beach nearby is ok however would recomend a car and drive to the calblanque which is superb and only 15 mins away.only disappointment was no air conditioning in the living room/third bedroom which got quite hot at night--the owner should invest in an additional unit.
overall a great holiday location and property although the building development nearby could change the peacefullness in the future.
Great service from martin lacey very helpfull and welcoming.recomended!!

The property was great and suited our needs.
The area was quieter than we thought though. Not a huge amount of restaurants in the area, had to go to the next town (10 mins by car).
You need to rent a car to stay here due to the lack of public transport available. This should be stated.
Owner reply:
Whilst Estrella de Mar is a small "Urbanisation", please note that there are 4 restaurants in the Village all within a 2 minute walk of the house. Each of the restaurants serve quality food ranging from basic burgers, snacks and salads to quality fish dishes and steaks catering for all tastes. There are BBQ's, Paella and theme nights ie, Karaoke, live music throught the summer season. A hired car is not an essential but would add to the experience should you wish to see more of the surrounding areas.
