A spacious, well equiped property in the heart of the antique quarter of Arcos, built and arranged in typical Andalucian style.
This property does not boast that it has a roof top terrace. If this were my property, I would be shouting about it, as it is a big plus for a town house in Arcos. Having said that, a couple of sun loungers would have put the icing on the cake!
We had a wonderful break at Casa Pace.
Only a wee critisism, the house is due a spring clean.
Owner reply:
You are absolutely right we do need a couple of sun lounges out there and it is an addition we intend to make., even though the table and chairs are very comfortable. We now have a new person who cleans and the standards are much higher. Thank you for letting us know.

This spacious property was good value for money. We particularly enjoyed using the roof terrace. Though Arcos is on a hill with very steep streets, we managed it OK with 2 children in temps up to 40 degrees! It is, after all, this hilltop location that gives the town its great views. Arcos is fantastically situated for exploring the nearby cities of Jerez, Cadiz and Sevilla. It is also not too far from beaches at el Puerto de Santa Maria and Cadiz, as well as Do~ana and Grazalema natural parks. The local municipal pool was a big hit with the children and we went horse riding in Arcos too. The town itself is very picturesque and historical. The steep streets and steep staircase in the apartment may not be suited to those with impaired mobility.

We enjoyed our stay and as long as you are in Arcos, it is adequate and has an atmosphere of being a resident. The house was very quite. It was an enjoyable stay, although we were disappointed upon arrival. The outlook improved after a nights rest.
We found the navagation of the streets difficult in the rental car and parking was difficult to locate. We also found the lack of air conditioning uncomfortable although we seemed to sleep well at night. It was impossible to get the hot day time air out of the downstairs bedrooms, even though we ran the fans all night.

Very well appointed; the only extra thing we'd have liked was a cafetiere! Very comfy beds, well equipped cooking facilities, everything you'd want. Friendly and handy local shop and good mercado. Does wonders for your thigh muscles! Arcos is not a place for a large car and parking is a bit hit and miss, depending on the time of day. Julie, the local contact very helpful. We had a top time!

Had a super holiday, really enjoyed staying in your house and living alongside the locals. The steep streets took a bit of getting used to, but
we never had a problem parking down by the railings! We found it easier to drive in the bottom way and come through the arch rather than drive through the town. The views from the house were amazing and we loved watching the birds doing their acrobatic displays. We had some lovely warm sunny days and saw a lot of the area.

Everything within the apartment was brand new and very clean. Unfortunately, we had to negotiate steep, narrow streets to get up to it. We could not take the car and therefore I would not recommend this for children or the un-fit!!
Owner reply:
Sorry for the inconvenience.
The day before these guests arrived we found out from friends that the old town was closed off because of road works on the west side. I did e-mail to let our guests know. The traffic in Old Arcos only flows west to east, so to get to the house you would have to drive the wrong way through the one way system. Ordinarily the house is accessible by car.
We are glad you found the house comfortable and clean and hope you enjoyed your stay.
Best regards

Sympathetically restored property in the beautiful hill village of Arcos. Nestling in ancient narrow streets with bars and cafes within a short walk up the hill. The large church at the top of the hill is well worth the walk. The house is has a well appointed kitchen - cooker, washing machine, microwave, fridge etc. Good supply of crockery and cutlery. Airy and spacious sitting room with window overlooking the patio and views to the lake. Stable doors to the outside stairs and patio allow you to enjoy the breeze. For the chilly days there is a woodburning stove. Bedrooms downstairs along with bathrooms. One bedroom has a double bed , with shower and washbasin. The other has twin beds with access to the family bathroom of traditional deep but short (almost a hip bath) bath with shower over, washhand basin and toilet.
Both bedrooms have oil filled radiators for the colder nights. We went at the end of November and only needed the radiators on very low. The house has thick walls and sounds from the village are very muted.
Casa Pace is a fantastic base from which to explore the area or just to sit on the patio and enjoy the views across to the lake. The house enjoys a good vantage point in the village. There is a small corner shop nearby. All the major supermarkets are a few minutes drive away, where you can buy anything from a teaspoon to a washing machine.
The area is naturally hilly so bring good footwear, but the views are well worth the climb.
