Authentic 12th century Templar Castle

Authentic 12th century Templar Castle set on more than 11 acres of fossil rich land, in the heart of Haute Provence, with a commanding 360 degree view over the turquoise waters of the Lake of Castillon and the towering mountains of the Verdon.
Secluded on its own knoll, yet only 100 km from Nice and the Cote d'Azur, and two kilometres from the village of Saint Andre les Alpes, come and enjoy total luxury, in our officially rated four-star apartments.
Ideal for three to four families, the castle has just recently had the addition of a huge 14m x 7m pool overlooking the lake which will provide everyone with hours of fun
Within the château are three luxurious apartments, each with it’s own kitchen, living room, and at least one large bathroom per bedroom. All are equipped to the highest of standards.
On the grounds of the Château stands the medieval church dedicated to Saint Martin, amid the ruins of houses that have blended with the wild limestone landscape.

The three appartments are as follows: St Paul: kitchen/dining room, living room, master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. St Pierre: kitchen, dining room/living room, 2 master bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. St Jean: kitchen/dining room, living room, 2 master bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom), family room (has single beds), two bathroom in the castle tower. The chateau is officially rated four star and has all the facilities for a deluxe holiday.

The castle is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Superb property , plenty of open space and seculded , really enjoyed the location and a great base to explore a lovely region . The chateau is a magnificant building on top of the hill,overlooking the town .

A truly stunning vista and location make this the ideal place for a larger group taking all 3 apartments. We only had a short stay but it was ideal for what we were looking for. Bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully appointed and the dining and lounge areas well kitted out. Just a couple of points to note, the 10am check out time is really a little early and is not conducive to any kind of a relaxing finish to the holiday. Having the cleaning staff waiting in the parking area for us to vacate was a little off putting. Secondly the pool wasnt really in a great state of cleanliness - granted it was slightly later in the year out of season (late september) but the weather was still good enough to use it.

OK I knew before we came round the hill where to find the castle in the distance. I pointed it out to the children. It was a beautiful sight, majestic and splendid in the far sunlight and a memory that I will never forget. It has a fantastic location and the children were fair squealing with delight.
