Very nice villas. Situated on the right place. Only a short walk to the beach and the main street. However without the noise of the mainstreet. The pool is very nice and comfortable. Compared to the pictures in the brochures the palmtrees have grown over the roofs in the meantime, which gives a lot of shadow around the pool. Maintenance of such a place is not easy, and after a few years some items need maintenance, but that is quite normal in this business. Whenever we should go to Flic en Flac again we will come back to the same place. Sandy and her husband are very kind and helpful, although I have the dutch nationality, the Dodo killers you know.
Owner reply:
It is always pleasure to welcome guests to Sandycove Villas and hope to welcome you back during your next visit to Mauritius.

Met our expectations - only just!
Positives : Value for money, very nice pool, good and solid furniture, lots of strong burglar bars, good looking villas from the outside
Needs attention on the interior - leaking pipes and broken toilet seats, might need some paint as well. A/C in 2 bedrooms only which makes the third bedroom unuseable, and the downstairs living area very hot. Very little hot water in the only shower and in the kitchen. Only 1 TV channel which is total rubbish. We could not see the ocean as claimed. Burglar bars and big locks make it cumbersome to enter and leave the villa and perimeter - obviously a sign of the criminal activities in the Mauritius
We were a little disappointed with Mauritius - not the paradise that is claimed in the brochures. When it rains their is nothing to do. The island is run down and not as safe as it used to be - expect crime.
Owner reply:
In response to the above review - Sandycove Villas - would like to add, that leaking the pipes and broken seat - were dealt with straight away, and if often only discovered when previous guests are moving out of the villas, prior to the arrival of new guests.
All our advertising clearly states that A/C is only available in the main rooms, and this has never proved to be a problem. The down stairs living areas are supplied with ceiling and floor fans, and have direct access to the main swimming pool areas.
The hot water is limited in Mauritius due to government regulations, and as we are a small guest house and not hotel, we have a generator and solar panels to heat the water.
Unfortunately due to recent building works, our sea views are now restricted. The burglar bars, were a recent addition due, to the new government policy dictating that the renewal of our tourist licence is subject to increased security measures on the complex. We are also in the process of introducing site cameras, and digital safes as well as key safes and alarms at the request of the government.
As with any country Mauritius is subject to petty crime and the measures taken at Sandycove Villas is for the prevention, safety and protection of our guests and not to cause an inconvenience.

" We stayed at Sandycove Villas New year 2007 and had a lovely time there. The Villas are located very close to central Flicen Flac and the lovely beach. Very convenient! The villas are open, large and well equiped with direct access to the pool. Sandy (the owner) was very helpful to us. We will really recommend this place"Berit and Harald from Oslo.
"After a warm welcome from Sandy, we were shown to our villa ( No 5 ). We were instantly impressed by the size, space and outlook of this villa being centrally located next to the pool. The 3 bedrooms all had ceiling fans and the 2 doubles had A/C which all proved to be essential. We enjoyed our time lounging around the pool which was really refreshing on the hot, humid afternoons. Sandy was always on hand to sort out any problems which she always did happily, with a smile. All things considered the complex is idealfor all your requirements.
We would strongly recommend anyone who wants to stay in Flic en Flac to stay at Sandycove Villas and we look forward to returning there once again" Andy Jackson. Bedfordshire UK "

We Googled for a villa and found wonderful web site of Sandycovevillas. We contacted and booked in advance and enjoyed our stay with all conditions we wanted to have around us!!!!! Aleksejs, London
We spend 14 days at Sandycove Villas over Christmas and New Year 2007/08. It was a fantastic holiday. Sandycove Villas is ideally situated and in easy walking distance from the Spar (best place to do grocery shopping) as well as restaurants, bars and very importantly the beautiful beach of Flic and Flaq. On arrival we were greeted by Sandy who is a very special lady. She made us feel welcome and at home. Accommodation is spacious and well equipped. A bonus (specially in the warm weather) is the air conditioners in the two main bedrooms - what a pleasure. Sandycove Villas has a crystal clear pool and you and the family can relax and enjoy the refreshing water and atmosphere. There are not too many Villas making it nice for a more "intimate" holiday and not just a stack of flats. We are definitely going back and will recommend Sandycove Villas any day. Just a word to say we had a wonderful time in Mauritius and were very pleased with our house in Sandycove Villas. The complex is very pretty and peaceful and is very well kept.
We had a very relaxing time and were just a few minute's walk from the lovely Flic en Flac beach, restaurants and even the Supermarket.
Flic en Flac is also a nice place to be, as it is small and not crowded and the beach is huge with palm trees where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the beach food.
I will definitely recommend Sandycove to friends and colleagues, and I hope to stay there again.

Very clean and quiet accommodation. Ideal for a family holiday. AC in two out of the three bedrooms. Close to exellent beach, popular among the locals, and to a string of good restaurants. Nice bird park and possibility to cruise through wild animal park on rented ATVs close by.

The property was very good with everything available. The villa and the compound were very clean with excellent service from everyone.
We found the location to be good for us, it is close to the beach and local amenities. It is easy to get around either by bus or through negotiation with the local taxi drivers.
Overall an great vacation and very relaxing up to now the island has had mainly hotel travellers but is now catering for the independant traveller and this villa and location are very well situated for you to do this.
We found the proprietor to be very helpful and willing to offer advice about what to do and where to visit.
