A good location for touring in the West of Ireland. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped, and in a lovely setting overlooking a small lake. The landlord, Pat, is friendly and helpful, and solved one or two small problems quickly and graciously. The two resident dogs, Bella and Buster, made us feel at home instantly. We would recommend Mt Cashel Lodge to anyone.

This 2 bedroom lakefront cottage restored from a coach house on a lovely estate was clean, well kept, charming, with spectacular views of the lake and hillside beyond. It was quiet, with excellent internet access, television, washer dryer, kitchen. Milk, butter, bread, tea, sugar, orange juice staples in the kitchen made our first morning simple and relaxed. A local guide made by our hosts was perfect for choosing activities and restaurants. CDs of Irish music in the bookcase went with us on our car trips. The nearby town of Sixmilebridge is quaint, and the surrounding area is full of castles, scenery, and interesting towns. We hope to return, with more time for simply being in the cottage.

The Mt. Cashel Lodge is stunningly beautiful - as pretty as any weve seen. The location is conveniently near the N18 and N19 motorways, but well away from their noise. It is near several restored castles, crannogs, and gardens. The grounds are beautiful enough to make you forget driving and sit back and relax.
The Shanahan family is very friendly and helpful. This place is a gem!

The property was in an excellent location and we were able to make use of the lake and the facilities. The lodge had everything that we needed and some basics such as milk and bread were provided for us on arrival.
The owners were friendly and there were some even more friendly 4 legged hosts!
We would definately look to booking the lodge again if we returned for a holiday in ireland and would recommend it to our friends and family.
Very good value for money.

The Mount Cashel Lodge2 had everything we needed and wanted. A wonder atmosphere pervaded the Lodge. We loved the view from the French Windows onto the gardens and lake, the donkeys and the horse feeding. Bella and Buster were as welcoming as Patrick and Annette. SixmileBridge was in a good base to visit the local area. The Abbey Tavern in Quin served up a wonderful meal for a very reasonable price.
If you want to see Ennis travel in early on Saturdays otherwise you can't find a parking place.
What we particularly liked about Mount Cashel Lodge2 was that we could book mid-week, i.e. Thursday to Thursday which allowed us to travel back to Wales on the ferry on Friday rather than the weekend.

Mount Cashel is an excellent stay near the airport Shannon.
The owners are very helpful. The lodge itself has all the things you need.
The view from the lodge to the lake is excellent (about 50 meters away).
When we arrived, everything that you would need was already arranged: some coffee and tea, fruit, milk, butter, bread. Great !
The weather i Ireland during our stay was also very good.
So we had a marvellous holiday and hope to come back to this great place.

From the reviews and pictures that I saw of the property I knew that it was going to be a great place. before we got there. I was so amazed at what a wonderful place it truly was. It is beautiful, peaceful and a great location to make day trips to other parts of the country. Great place to take the kids as they enjoyed the lake, and the puppies. I will definetly go back to this place and would recommend it to anyone that is going to Ireland.

We stayed in 4 self-catering properties during our 2 weeks in Ireland and Mt. Cashel Lodge was definitely one of the best. The rooms were large, the ammenities were excellent, the location was wonderful, and the property itself was lovely. The owners had fresh milk, bread, butter, fruit, tea and coffee already there for us upon our arrival. The lake out back was beautiful, with all sorts of boats and kayaks available for our use. The setting was peaceful and quiet, and yet we were only 15 - 20 minutes from Shannon Airport. Plus, the free Broadband internet was a real treat, as we had brought our laptop computer with us.
Thank you so much for providing us with a wonderful place to stay during our visit to County Clare!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mount Cashel Lodge! The kayaks, rowboats and trampoline made our visit to this lovely spot even more enjoyable.

"Mt Cashel is a little piece of paradise in Ireland. The accomadations were clean, well appointed and offered every convience. The location was great for using as a hub for day trips. Pat and Annette were the perfect hosts, available but non-intrusive. Even the family pets added to the enjoyment of our stay. A mother cat and her 4 new kittens were our next door neighbors, residing in the carrage house. After returning from a day of sight-seeing, we would be met by Max, the family Springer Spaniel, waiting for us on the doorstep. From our bedroom window, we had a picture post card view of the lake and the Famine Village ruins. We were invited to harvest fresh vegetables from their cottage garden and enjoyed the most beautiful lettace and broccoli ever. Mt Cashel "made" the trip!"

"Excellent spacious accomodation with high quality furnishings. Delightfully peaceful location overlooking private lake, but still only 20 minutes from Limerick / Ennis / Shannon Airport. An excellent choice if you want to get away from it all. Really highly recommended - if we visit the area again, this will be where we stay."
