We have just returned from a 5-night stay at the Lavender Lodge in Kenmare. This is a lovely property - it is a home away from home which has been furnished to a very high standard and has everything that you could possibly need in self-catering house. Moreover, the view from this house is simply stunning! Ann, the owner, is clearly very proud of her house and her hometown, the beautiful Kenmare. She is very thoughtful and had the fire roaring when we arrived as it was an extremely cold day! Ann is also a caring hostess - she telephoned to ensure that all is well and is only too happy to answer any queries that we may have. We had an extremely comfortable stay here and recommend this property very highly. Many thanks from the OSullivans (UK)

My two sisters and I have traveled together to Ireland four times in the last seven years. The plan for this last trip in September 2011 was to relax and just enjoy being in Ireland instead of driving to a new location every few days. We did indeed relax. Ann Brownes beautiful home was incredible. We had everything we needed and more - Ann was the epitome of a perfect hostess. I highly recommend a visit to this lovely home for anymore wanting peace and quite, panaromic views of Kenmare Bay, lovely accomodations, drinking wine from her Waterford glasses in front of a warm peat fire and enjoying the well maintained gardens from the back yard patio. The hydrangeas are gorgeous and colorful. Lavender Lodge is the perfect location for driving the Ring of Kerry, dining, shopping and enjoying the town of Kenmare, watching the local dancers at the Atlantic on Sunday evening- joining in a little too and walking the countryside. As you can read our stay at Lavender Lodge was wonderful. Hope you will enjoy your visit as much as we didt. From the three sisters - Mary Lou Gola, Janet Mac Eachen, Susan Coan

Absolutely Fabulous! Gorgeous house with stunning scenery - we loved our stay at Lavender Lodge - we went for a chill out break and that is exactly what we got. The house is lovely and the attention to detail by the owner Ann is just outstanding - whatever we went to look for - it was there! It was so nice to wake up in the morning to the breathtaking views from every window in the house and we especially loved the little visits from our deer neighbours twice a day! Highly recommended holiday home!

The property was absolutely spotless with breathtaking views all around. Ann the owner, had thought of everything to help make our stay the best holiday we have ever had. Her attention to detail was superb and i would recommend her lovely home to anyone that wants a truly homely break.

I stayed at Lavender Lodge with my husband and three teenage children and this home exceeded all of our expectations. The view from this house can not be described, it is truly amazing. The house is beautifully decorated but still very comfortable for relaxing after a long day of touring. The owner is was very gracious and welcoming, she provided excellent recommendations for restaurants in Kenmare and suggestions for day trips. I would highly recommend this vacation home to my friends and family. We hated to leave and would love to go back!

We could not have been more pleased. The only bad thing is that the view is so spectacular that you may be tempted to just sit on the patio and take it in rather than actually go anywhere! Ann was a perfect close by hostess offering great suggestions, yet gave us our privacy. The town of Kenmare is charming and friendly. The local golf course was one of our favorites as well as one of the best priced. The house was beautiful and well equipped. We would definitely re-visit as well as give the highest recommendation.

On our recent holiday we stayed in 4 Self catering houses. This property Lavender Lodge, Kenmare was way ahead of the others. The owner left soup chocolates and cake as well as a mobile phone for emergency use. The house is in a stunning location and was immaculately presented with everything you could wish for. It is a short distance to Kenmare, the Irish tidy town for 2008, which is on the Ring of Kerry. The house is on the Bera peninsula and ideally placed for exploring Counties Kerry and Cork. If you were too tired to go out you could enjoy yourself just sitting and looking out at the beautiful surrounding scenery. All holidays have a high point and this was it.

As we drove through the beautiful countryside and approached the idyllic town of Kenmare, we were already beginning to wind down from the stresses of everyday life. Just one obstacle remained. The house. Could it possibly live up to our very high hopes and expectations? When we drew up outside this property, my wife informed me that I must have got the directions wrong, because the house was far too nice to be a rental home. Furthermore there was clearly smoke coming from the chimney and a TV was on inside. However there was the name clearly shown outside and on further inspection the front door was open as we had been told it would be. We went in still not sure we had the right place, calling out to warn any unsuspecting occupants who may have thought we were intruders. As we walked around it gradually sank in that this was to be our home for a week and we also began to properly take in our surroundings. Let me just say that the house is beautifully designed to offer every possible comfort and amenity both inside and out and also to take in from nearly every window one of the most dramatic views we have beheld anywhere in the world. We loved the house, the views and the area. We were truly amazed at the scenery, both mountains and beaches, the food and the lovely people. It was such a wonderful break and so accessible from the UK. We know we shall be regular visitors as our two young boys enjoyed the experience as much as we did. As a family we cannot recommend this house highly enough, it is wonderful and we were very sad to leave.

It has een a wonderful experience from the beginning and untill the end of our stay. The warm welcome we received was really exceptional with an oping fire and a dressed tablewaiting fot us. We very much enjoyed the quality of the provided equipment and every detail of the beautiful furniture and decoration made us really feel like home with an only regret having to live after one week. No doubt we will come back soon

Beautiful property, fabulous views, maintained to a very high standard. 1st day saw red deer in neighbour’s garden. Then one night during the week when having a glass of wine out on the patio a deer wanders in for a bit of some fresh grass. A beautiful site. Would book again.

What can I say? We went to Kenmare for a break from the stress of city life. We had seen the pictures, but nothing could prepare us for the beauty of the location and the views - simply breathtaking. The house is quite new, furnished, equipped and decorated to a very high standard and provides an immediately home from home in real style. We settled right in and appreciated the lovely lounge around the open fire and separate sun lounge, giving loads of space to unwind. Added to that the dining area was fantastic, and all of the rooms shared those fantastic views, along the Kenmare river valley towards the sea, with mountains both sides and countryside all around. The bedrooms were great, all three spacious and luxurious, and with ensuites too. There's a large garden, although we'd have used it more if it were Summer. And we even had the delight of watching a dear saunter into the garden and graze as we ate dinner on our last night. The house is on a private road or maybe 5 other detached houses, that leads up to a open hillside, lots of walking right on the doorstep, lots of privacy. Our only regret, we had to come home!
