The property is clean and tidy and the owner and her family made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful with any queries we had during our stay and were available whenever we needed them.
The house was well equipped and we had everything there that we needed.
The property has plenty of room for a large family and had lovely views across the hills - The description of walking distance to a shop, restaurant and the local town of 10, 15 and 30 mins is accurate, although to note that it was quite challenging to actually walk these distances in the August heat and the roads quite windy and very dark to walk in the evenings - I would say you definately need to have a car.
The small town of Terni is nice and busy if you go to the area by the fountain and the house is situated close to the train station which is great for a day trip to Rome.
Due to the rural surroundings you will be woken early by local animal noises and the start of the farming day - but you soon get used to the cockerill.
Overall we had a lovely relaxing family holiday which was spent lazing mainly by the pool and eating in the local pizza restaurant which is very friendly.

Great property in great location. The villa is situated in lovely countryside, yet close enough 6km) to the train station in Terni and motorway (20 min). There are many lovely small towns and sites in the neighbourhood for day trips.
The house has all the amenities for a pleasant family holiday - Carla is welcoming and always available and willing to help whether it is with directions, train time tables or booking restaurants. House and pool are clean and well maintained.

Perfect villa in beautiful surroundings, very well stocked with food when we arrived. The villa itself is cool in the heat of day and tastefully decorated. The pool and pool area were beautifully maintained and the holiday could have been (and nearly was) spent without moving from the terrace. Local shops and restaurants are very good. Most importantly, Carla and family made us feel very welcome and were always on hand if we needed anything - she even did our washing! Well recommended.

A beautiful villa perfectly equipped for a family holiday. The pool was a huge hit with our children. It was the perfect place to relax halfway through our trip around Europe. Carla, David and Tanya were very friendly and helpful, thank you.
Stunning views from the balcony whilst we ate our meals. We look forward to returning one day and hopefully investigating the area a bit more!

Villa Mafalda was a wonderful property, very well equipped and in a spectacular location. The kids loved the pool and spent all day every day in there! It was very secure so would also be suitable for a very young family. Carla, the owner, was an excellent host, frequently popping in to make sure everything was ok. She also recommended a number of restaurants nearby, two of which we did try out and were not disappointed. The setting, qulaity of food and value was second to none. She also briefed us on what was around the local area which may be of interest, the Marmore Waterfall is definately worth a visit. All in all we had a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday and look forward to returning to Umbria and Villa Mafalda some time in the future.

The Villa has such a great location, on the top of the hills, with an amazing view over the fields and the medioeval town of Collescipoli. Beautiful swimming pool and Garden, the perfect place to relax and lay out. Beautifully furnished and decorated, all the bedrooms have view over the Garden, spacious and bright. I spent a lovely time and I would recommend to everyone I know to spend some quality time in Villa Mafalda, with family, friends and beloved ones.

Had a wonderful week here. The house is spacious and comfortable, with a great pool. The location is excellent as a base for exploring the sites of Umbria. A big thanks to Carla and family for looking after us so well.

This property has been rcently refurbished to a high standard with everything that we could have wanted included in the villa.
The swimming pool is a good size and cleaned daily for guests.
Carla and her family are excellent hosts, and the reason that we will return. They ensure that you get the best from the area and will book restaurants, recommend days out, and help with anything you need during your stay. There are so many things that we did that we would not have known about from guide books, including visits to local town festivals which was great fun.
The villa is lovely, the scenery is beautiful, local restaurants are good, lots of local unspoilt towns to visit, and excellent hosts.

A beautiful, comfortable villa. Tastefully decorated with a lovely swimming pool and fantastic views over the Umbrian countryside.
The owner, Carla, along with her son, David and daughter-in-law, Tanya could not have done more to make our stay memorable. They made us genuinely welcome and were always on hand to advise on sites to see and the good restaurants in the vicinity. We certainly look forward to returning to this oasis of comfort and tranquility.
Thank you Carla to you and your family!
