My family and I have just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Villa Lighthouse (2 July to 16 July). Ages ranged from 66years to 6months including 2 small children and 2 teenagers. Firstly our transfers to and from Dalaman were excellant using the Villas own reliable local company ( Activities Unlimited ). This company also organised our trips, private boat trip, mud baths and paragliding. The Villa is in a good location. Clean and well maintained. As stated in another review the crockery was adequate but dated. All the bedrooms had air conditioning, but we found that the dining room and lounge area could do with some air conditioning or even ceiling fans. The pool and gardens were excellently maintained each day (sometimes twice a day) by Edwan. A short walk to local stores one of which did free delivery to the villa. It is also walking distance to restaurants, taxis and dolmus (bus service) The walk into Hisaronu takes about between 20 and 30 minutes. We were there for 2 weeks, ate out most nights and did not have a bad meal. Someone should shoot the cockerals, but we all do wish we were back there. Great holiday.

The property was lovely and we were well looked after. We had a problem with the pool as it seemed to leak water, but once reported it It was attended to very quickly with a tanker to top it up. The transfers to and from the villa were excellent and supurb value. I would recommend anyone staying at the villa to take this option. Over all we had a fantastic holiday and I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday yet within easy reach to the shops, resturaunts and bars.

We stayed for 1week in mid June . Our transfers were smooth and as described in the arrival/ departure info which was Emailed to us. We were the first holiday makers in the villa this season. The gardens and pool area were beautiful and maintained daily. There were only 7 in our party so we had plenty of space. The villa can hold up to 14 but that may be a little cramped. The rooms are basically furnished, some with limited storage space but this was not a problem for us. In the kitchen the crockery was well used and some could well do with replacing. The toaster did not work. We reported it but it was not replaced by the time we left, however it was not a problem as we used the grill in the oven. The aircon was not working in one of the bedrooms but this was promptly repaired. The villa was clean but there is no maid service, it is advisable to take a couple of J clothes and a tea towal with you. The dishwasher and washing machine were essential if you have children. The villa is generally in a quiet location however you do have to get used to the noisy cockerells who wake up early! Dolmush buses are a great way to get around and very frequent. The villa is in walking distance of several restaurants. All the ones we visited were cheap excellent value and very clean. We took half turkish lira, but most places took english money, not everywhere took credit cards. We ate out most of the time because it was so cheap. There are lots of reasonable excursions shop around for the best deal . We had a great day out at the mud baths, rock tombs and beach with lunch for £15 each, we also hired aboat for the day which was lovely, Haggle for the best deal. This villa is ideal for large families. This is a nice area of Turkey and we found most people friendly and helpful. Take care in the heat, it was up to 42 degrees in June, but the garden had shade and the air-con was great. It was also cooler on the coast. We really enjoyed our holiday and will return to Turkey one day.

Our party of 11 people, aged 12 to 40 something stayed at The Lighthouse from the 5th to 16th July 2010. We arranged our transfers with Activities and we could not fault them at all. Our party was arriving on 3 different flights and we were all collected with great efficiency and the same applies for our departures. Because of some of our flight times, they even let some of my party leave their suitcases with them for the day until their return flights were due. The villa was spacious, clean and comfortable and the pool and grounds were maintained on a daily basis by the gardener. We incurred a problem on our arrival, when my partner locked himself in the downstairs bathroom when the key snapped, but this was dealt with promptly and efficiently when it was reported to the gardener. The villa grounds are beautiful and the pool was a delight and much needed in the soaring temperatures. There is lots of different fruit trees within the private sunny grounds and plenty of areas to sunbathe or stay in the shade. The hammock was a firm favourite when temperatures exceeded 50 degrees during our stay. The mountain views are beautiful from the upstairs bedrooms. There is a nearby mosque with a loudspeaker. Prayers could be heard 2 - 3 times a day and we felt it added to the atmosphere of being in Turkey. The neighbouring roosters could be heard occasionally too, but this did not affect our enjoyment at all. Dont be alarmed to see dogs roaming the streets...especially on the road to the villa. This is quite typical in the area. There are lots of local amenities within a 5 minute walking distance. Local shops, restaurants and bars. We could not fault a single one. The food was fresh and delicious and the locals were all very friendly and helpful. There is a local Dolmbus which you can catch once your on the main road. They are very cheap and run on a regular basis. There are bus stops, however, you can catch one on any part of the road. They toot their horns for communication. They wont stop if the bus is full, however, another one will come pass before you know it. We preferred this form of transport rather than the local taxis. Hisaronu is 5 minutes away on the dolmbus and a 15 minute easy walk. It is where all the livlier nightlife is. Nightclubs, shops, restaurants etc...and lots of activities operators where you can book different activities, such as paragliding, boat trips, Turkish baths and so very much more. I recommend you shop around as you can get some very good deals and they love a barter. We booked a 6 island boat trip from Olu Deniz beach, which only cost at £5 per person, which included lunch of either grilled fresh fish or chicken, couscous and salad. It was delicious. We had 6 stops, which included swimming in a cave and butterfly island. You have to pay to go up to Butterfly Island, to be quite honest, it was a waste of time, because we basically paid to go for a walk and we saw no butterlfies. I suggest you just stay on the beach and swim in the sea for this stop. Other stops included the chance to jet ski and banana rides at a cost. Haggle with them for a reduced price. I do recommend you take your own bottled water and beers etc...on these boat trips as they last all day and the prices on the boats for beverages is quite expensive as we found out to our cost and take lots of sun tan lotion as we got the most amazing tan that day, but alot of us did burn despite being protected. Another place we visited was the lagoon at Olu Deniz. There is a nominal charge to enter, but its worth it as the sea is beautiful there and the views are outstanding. It is a pebble beach, so wear appropriate footwear. I recommend you take a picnic lunch with you if you can, as there is only one place to eat once your at the lagoon and the food wasnt much to write home about and the portion sizes were tiny for the prices they charged. Take your own bottled water with you too if you can. The markets are an experience. Haggle with them as much as you can and dont be talked into buying you something you dont want. The banter with the market traders is so funny, especially when they come out with English sayings as youre walking past. We purchased a lot of Henleys T Shirts whilst there and quality is very good indeed. They dont wash out or shrink as soon as you get home, so if you have any teenage children I recommend you buy some at bargain prices. I can highly recommend this villa and destination to everyone. We would definitely return in the future. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday :)

Having just spent 2 weeks at the Lighthouse with 12 other members of my family ranging from age 2 - 60 I would highly recommend it. The villa was spacious and within easy reach of local bars and entertainment. The Turkish people as always were delightful and kept us laughing. The kitchen is a little tired and in need of a revamp, sadly the toaster and kettle were very temperemental so breakfast was always a bit of a challenge with so many of us to feed. Apart from these minor hiccups everything else was fantastic. The pool man/gardener kept both in tip top condition, the garden has several shady areas throughout the day. The 6 children had a ball and all want to return to "Nanny,s holiday house"

Spent hours on internet to find the right villa to suit everyone, read hundreds of reviews, glad I did my homework as not disappointed.Very large pool area, pool was quite cold, would have used more if heated for early season that is 1st-15th, May 09. Cleaned every day at 6am so did not disturb us. Rooms clean and spacious, large living/dining area, large bathrooms. Please note we had 3 days of heavy rain and dull weather during our first week, no hot weather equals no hot water, 7 of us could not shower for 3 days, we were not aware of this, we called the maintenance man Patrick who told us there was no back up system, and he had informed the owner. Again if early season bookings are taken then a back up should be in place, hot water is a basic need isnt it? There are cockerels everywhere and their calling just added to the atmosphere of being in Turkey, as did the mosque, the mountain views are beautiful surrounding the villa. Be aware if you need to call the office or Patrick It costs you £1.65 per minute, thought there might be a landline phone to be used for this. Unlimited activities are linked to this villa, they supply the transfers which were excellent (Hi Duran!). We booked a jeep safari through them which would be great in hotter weather! They offered us a Dalyan mud bath trip for £25 each, when we went into Hisaronu that was 1 mile away or 1.75 lira on the dolmus and asked around until we got it for £14 each! Quite a difference and fantastic day out. About an hour air conditioned mini bus trip to a boat, Lovely trip on the lake with beautiful views, mud bath was great fun and a thermal bath. In another boat trip we saw the rock tombs very atmospheric, great lunch and soup & fresh bread, lovely fresh salad, grilled chicken with a few chips and a little rice, fruit, people that had fish, it is a whole fresh trout on your plate! More lovely boat trip on lake to a beautiful sandy beach, then stopped at a jewelry factory on way home which was interesting, Felt you had an awful lot for your money. The photos that were taken of you were good value-10 lira each about £4. The shops in Hisaronu take lira, euros and English sterling, a lot of prices are in sterling, Azda is okay but we found Migros just down the side of Azda is a lot fresher with a lot more choice and cheaper. The Turkish people are very friendly and will try to do anything for you, Not much trouble. At the villa we had a lizard that sat on the main gates. If he was out, we knew the weather would be good! Also the guard dog opposite to the warehouse would sneak out to see us for a fuss and most fondly our cat Kedi that came to see us every morning and evening for a bit of chicken and saucer of milk! Cooked a bit at villa, could do with a sieve, could not strain rice! and no masher. We took washing gel tablets with us and came home with virtually no washing to do. It was no bother to put it on while there. We were kindly allowed to stay on last day as no booking for coming week, otherwise we had to be completely off the premises at 10 a.m. and our transfer to airport was 7 p.m. So watch your flight times. I am sure the hotel behind us would have helped otherwise. All in all a fantastic villa with beautiful views, enough garden to be screened from surrounding villas and hotels, lovely restaurants in Hisaronu and nightlife in the upstairs bars with the staff dancing on tables and on the bar and with all the customers regardless how young or old. I chose this villa mainly on reviews and making my own overall opinion of them. Felt only right to put one myself. Hope it helps you to decide!

Just returned from two weeks at The Lighthouse, had an amazing two weeks, villa in excellent location near bars and restaurants and great water park for kids. Plenty of room in the villa for 9 of us and the outside pool area was cleaned every day and was immaculate, cleanest pool we have ever had!!! Agree with previous review the kitchen needs some TLC along with the bathrooms, looking a bit tired. Had a few issues re air con not working in downstairs bedroom but had no response to those either, so had to use fan in that room. Transers and trips booked through activities unlimited were superb. Only gripe that villa opposite a very busy delivery depot but overall fab holiday.

Just returned from a brilliant holiday, the villa was everything it said it was plus more. The pool was fantastic, more than big enough for the 11 of us, and was cleaned once a day. Villa close to everything you need, in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. Did notify agent of few minor issues, but did not have any response to these during our stay. Villa was lovely however kitchen may be in need of a little T.L.C. Transfers arranged by the owners could not be faulted and took a lot of stress out of our journey. Great places to eat and drink are The Kings Arms, The Mirage and Friar Tucks Bistro. Mosquitoes were a pain but only to be expected, seemed to bite more when we used the repellent. Would definitely recommend The Lighthouse, would not hesitate to return. Thanks for a great holiday, and treasured memories.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Lighthouse!! Property is in excellent condition, clean pool and well kept garden. We spent quite a bit of time at the house, using the pool, loungers and hammock! We were a party of 10 and there was plenty of room for all of us. The Villa is in Ovacik about a mile from the lively town and bars of Hisaronu and two miles from the beach at Olu Deniz but there is a frequent cheap Dolmus service (about every 5 mins) until 1.00am that picks you up and dro ps you anywhere along the road. There are plenty of activities and excursions in the area and for the adventurous you must try Parasailing from a 6000ft mountain top back down to the beach at Olu Deniz! Very good Ghost Town at KayaKata with a number of walks over the mountains - make sure you read the notice at the bottom and follow the correct trails! All in all, we can find no fault and all 10 of us cant wait to go back next year!!

The villa was lovely and nice and private. We spent most days at the villa appart from 4 days when we had a car. All as described. Only a few negative comments only 1 plug for the sinks/baths in the whole villa. Cockerels and mosque were a bit of a surprise but as others have commented we soon got use to them. I would definitely go there again.

Just returned from 2 fabulous weeks in the Lighthouse. There were 7 of us, two families. Plenty of room. Pool was very much needed as weather was lovely. Would recommend using Activities Unlimilted to book boat trip/hire for the day, jeep safari and turkish night, all very good value for money and lots of fun. Take ear plugs because of neighbouring cockerels and mosque. Wasnt warned about the mosque in other reviews so a bit of a shock at 5am on first morning. Got used to both of them after a few nights. Only gripe we had was with the airconditioning in downstairs twin room, it brokedown in 1st week, reported it 3 times but no-one came to repair it. Our daughters had to use the fan from the livingroom instead. Would recommend this villa as a good place to stay.

The villa was absolutely gorgeous. Very spacious inside and out. Close to a lot of restaurants and bars and only a short taxi ride away from Hisaranou. Transfers to and from airport were well organised. During our stay one of the party had a very bad reaction to mosquito bites and as a result was unable to go out for a few days. The villa was a lovely place to be confined to, the pool was beautiful when lite up at night and we even several take away meals. It was set in large grounds with plenty of areas throughout the day to avoid the sun if that's what you wanted. Would definitely recommend the villa to anyone, excellent value for money, well appointed and located in quiet area with easy access to nightlife. One minor issue, could have done with more pots/pans for self catering but other than that fantastic.

Fantastic - Such a loverly villa in a great location - Walking distance to some excellent restaurants and the water park - and a short (and cheap) taxi ride to the resort center or Olediniz Beach - which is amazingly picturesque. We would definitely stay there again. The grounds of the villa and the swimming pool are excellent and very well looked after. Activities Unlimited - who arranged our transfers and our excursions were brilliant - really friendly and helpful - as were all the Turkish people for that matter. Many thanks for a great holiday.

The villa is lovely, it's very spacious and has a great pool. It's near the road between Olu Denis and Fethiye so it's easy to get around by taxi and dolmus, unless you're doing excursions further afield you don't really need a car. The hills surrounding the villa are beautiful, with lots of paragliders floating down all day and lovely sunsets. The rooms were comfortable and aircon was a plus - but some of the doors don't fit very well, and some things were lacking that we would have expected to see - mattresses for the sun loungers, a working corkscrew, and a good supply of loo-roll and binbags, for example (we bought a new corkscrew so that's sorted now!). The people at Activity Holidays were really helpful though, and we had a really lovely, totally relaxing week. Recommended!

It is our wish that you have an outstanding holiday. If you have an issue or a question about the Villa, please contact the management team. I have to say that I was absolutely delighted with every aspect of our holiday. The villa was superb, very spacious and extremely clean and well kept. The local staff were very professional and helpful, not only while we were there, but also before we left. Even though our flight was delayed 11 hours, there was still a smiling gentlemen there to meet us and drive 10 very tired holiday makers to their villa. When we got there, we were even more delighted to find the fridge not only had fresh milk in it, but more importantly cold beers and a bottle of wine!! I would recommend this Villa to anyone, while at the same time look forward to going back ourselves. Excellent all round! Gary

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks in the Lighthouse property. It exceeded expectations, the house is large and well equipped and the air-conditioning in the bedrooms a real bonus. The pool and gardens are just lovely, and the man who turns up to maintain these is a really nice guy and very efficient. The position of the house is superb, being mid-way between Fethiye and OluDeniz giving you plenty of choices of where to visit. The management team taking care of the house could not have been more helpful and were always on hand whenever we needed anything or had a query. The mountainous region where the house is situated is simply gorgeous and we would recommend a visit!

Fantastic villa with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains which can be best appreciated sitting by the pool as the sun sets over them. We had a very well stocked cupboard with dishwasher tablets/ laundry powder/ spices and coal. The fridge freezer was enormous and the whole arrangement was perfect for sociable evenings. The pool was well maintained and cleaned daily with loungers and a plethora of fruit bearing trees that made great snacks when ripe! The bedrooms were all spacious with a handy chest of draws. The walls are thin- so we could hear the sounds of people creaking up the stairs and doors slamming very easily. Bathrooms were all of excellent quality, with hot water being warmed from the heat-exchangers on the roof- beware those cold non-sunny days as hot water never followed! Very easy to get access into local town and further by public transport or by foot. We often got lost on our returns back though! Would highly recommend this property!

We were nine ladies from Norway, and we are all very satisfied with our stay in the Lighthouse villa. Nice garden and swimming pool. The surroundings with Hisaronu, Olu Deniz and Fethiye so close made our holiday full of experiences. We are planning to come back! The only minus was that we only got six towels for nine persons, and it took two days before it was arranged. The kitchen was not well cleaned when we arrived.

The villa is in an ideal location, near to restaurants and shops and withing walking distance to Hisaronu. The pool area is private, spacious and was cleaned every morning. The villa is surrounded by gardens. Airport transfers arranged, were waiting when we got to Turkey and on time for the journey home. Jimmy (who looked after the grounds) was very helpful and even came to see us off on our last day. A large TV/DVD was installed during our stay which kept my daughter entertained. The villa is excellent value for money, everything you need is in the villa although there is nothing fancy about it. Another thing I liked was the wooden floors which is better than marble where children with wet feet are concerned. I would definately recommend it and would use it again.

There were some power problems for the whole area in this particular week. Slow water supply is linked to the power problem as a pump is used. Power supply in the area is generally very good.

The Lighthouse Villa is absolutely beautiful and the views are stunning. The advertising photograph doesnt do the building justice. The pool and grounds are beautifully kept and the rooms are airy and minimalist. The drive to Olu Deniz takes 5 to 10 mins and costs about 3pounds fifty in a cab (no need to call, they are easily hailed) or the regular buses are about 75p per person. The villa is quiet and out of the way but with easy access to the surrounding areas; Fethiye, Isaranou and Olu Deniz. Have Fun. Jak.

We had a great holiday. Transfers to and from the airport are efficient. The villa, gardens and pool are lovely. The location has something for everyone-local beach, clubs, bars restaurants all good. People are especially friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your holiday.
I would recommend to anyone - we will certainly be back.
