We have just spent 15 days in Barbados. This is our 14th visit to the islan but the first time stopping here. This is an excellent property, good location, excellent value for money and quiet. The pool was lovely and it was great to have your own pool. We spent most of the time sat outside on the patio and in the pool. There is a lovely breeze that comes round the back of the property which keeps you cool. The house is exactly like it is in the pictures except for the shrubs which have grown and provide perfect privacy. Janice is excellent and answered any questions we had - she sorted us out with excellent car hire. The house is clean and tidy and when Janice came to clean she checked what time would be good for us - what more can you ask . It exceeded all our expectations.

Great value for money , nice quiet area , great little pool , Janice lives at the back of the house and popped round frequently , the information pack was emailed on and getting in was a doddle , the info pack inside the houses was very usefull as was the mobile phone which was massively cheaper to phone to the uk landline no.s. would go back again easily.

Fairholme Gardens is in an excellent location and is a great option for people traveling with children. The local shops and amenities are a short distance away, as is Maxwell Beach. In terms of size, the properties definitely exceeded our expectations, the patio and garden areas were also a wonderful touch... the children spent very little time inside of the house! It was great to have such freedom during our stay, life was pretty much business as usual in terms of cooking, washing clothes (if necessary) and relaxing with friends... everyone felt comfortable- it was home away from home. I would definitely recommend this property to others, furthermore, I would be inclined to stay there again in the future. My only gripe is that our housekeeper introduced herself to us on the very first day but after that, we werent fortunate enough to benefit from the once per week visit we had been advised of. Instead we did all cleaning ourselves, and washed our towels and linen repeatedly. Whilst this had no particularly bearing on our stay, I am just asking potential visitors to prepare themselves for this possibility. Lastly, I advise that all visitors clarify the check-out details before departure... as a family of 6, it was very frustrating to receive a phone call (from said housekeeper), whilst out at dinner at 6pm stating that we needed to vacate the property by 10am the following morning. This was obviously surprising news to us!!!

The property was good value for money. Slightly disappointed with some details, lack of black bags and toilet rolls. The house was only cleaned once as the other cleaning day fell on the day we were leaving, for the price paid for the house, it should be cleaned twice a week. Going on holiday is the whole point of not having to do to much cleaning. Having stayed in self catering apartments in Barbados, these provisions were provided and on cleaning days were replenished. Overall the house is ideal if you have children, the pool keeps them occupied. The house is not to far from the main road to catch the number 11 ZR bus in either direction to Oistins or Bridgetown. Supermarket is just up the road, but you will need to take a taxi on the return journey if you have quite a bit to carry back (15 bds). If you are driving, then the house is in a good area, if your not driving and your going out at night, its a taxi job home (between 15 - 20 bds) depending where you get the taxi from. Bedrooms have air con which is great when you need to cool down. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend this house to my friends.

A lovely property close to Oistins and St Lawrence Gap. Beaches close-by. Definitely need to use local taxis to get about, or hire a car. We did not hire a car on this occasion, but think we would do if we stayed here again. Local rep friendly and helpful. We did have an invasion of ants, which she helped us take care of. Pool and terrace is by far and away the best feature - have many happy memories having fun with all the family. Note we had a toddler with us, and getting about with a pushchair is just about impossible.

Very well placed for Oistins and the Gap,good in house facilities e.g. well equipped kitchen and lovely garden/pool. I think the property would benefit from having a better BBQ as the one provided was quite small and not of a very good quality Overall a great place to stay and I would recommend to friends.

lovely property, excellent facilities, lovely pool (check for any giant toad that may have jumped in overnight), lovely local car hire 1 street below wish we could have stayed longer fab beaches, sea, food and people supernarkets expensive, bridgetown lovely. Car needed if you wish to see island but all roads lead to Bridgetown (check bus stops either to city or out of, better than sat nav)

The property was truly a home away from home. Close enough to Maxwell Road but far away enough that it was peaceful and quiet at night. A hop skip and a jump to the Gap, Oistins and a beline to Bridge town. This was my sixth time vacationing at various hotels, apartments & home rentals in Barbados and I must say the stay at Fairholmes Gardens was the best. While the rooms upstairs had air conditioning, I would suggest that they invest in air conditioning downstairs. I was lucky that we had heavy rains quite a few days at night. During the day however I know from past experience it can get pretty hot and during my stay the kitchen and living room got a bit stuffy even with all the windows open. Overall it was a very relaxing, cozy stay.

Excellent value for money and great location! The property was like home from home, so not once did we need something that the owners hadnt thought of. The mobile phone was also a nice touch! We will most definately return next year. The only suggestion I would make is installing air conditioning in the living area as it can get pretty sticky especially on the leather sofas, but this being a luxury and not a necessity. We had a wonderful time, many many thanks.

Have just returned from a 2 week stay in Fairholme Gardens. We had a fantastic time and the villa was wonderful. Had everything you need. Air conditioning in the bedroom was a godsend. The pool was excellent and cleaned regularly. Rachel the housekeeper was great and was on hand to deal with any problems and to provide information on the island and help with queries etc. The location of the villa is great as its about halfway between the Gap and the Fish Fry/Market. A quick stroll down to the main road to jump on a local bus and we were in the Gap in 5 mins. Eating out can be expensive especially if you want wine but rum is cheap as chips. We found a wholesale outlet in Newport ( about 5 mins drive from the villa) where wine and beer can be bought at wholesale prices. Definately worth going there to stock up when you arrive. My husband is a surfer and the villa is in an excellent location for the surf. he hired a board from Zeds (based an surfers point) and surfed every day at Cotton Bay ( both of these are located down at Enterprise Drive which is below the airport (near to Silver Sands) We picked up take away food from the stalls next to the fish market. The food here is cooked by the locals and is much cheaper and better than the Chefette or KFC. Also the supermarket just down the road from the villa has a hot food outlet so you can buy cooked chickens and macaroni pie & rice & beans etc. So between dining out and takeaways there is no need to cook. We didnt use the TV and just chilled out on the patio every evening listening to our ipod fitted into the music player ( adaptor supplied) and playing dominos the local passtime. So we are chilled and rested and would recommend this villa to anyone.

the house was spacious and the air conditioning in the bedrooms a godsend. It was very well equipt and maintained. Any small problems were dealt with quickly by Rachel. Although you can easily get around by bus from this property I would still recommend a car to get the best out of the island.

This was our second stay at Fairholme Gardens and we had another fantastic stay. Compared to other accommodation on the island this property offers superb value for money given the facilities and location. The neighbours are very friendly and it is only a five minute walk to the Maxwell main road where you can hop on a bus to anywhere or have a stroll into Oistins! The nearby local beach is a small but quiet strip - perfect for a quick dip in the sea. There are a couple of bars/cafes nearby which is handy for the afternoon or evenings when you dont feel like trekking too far for food and drink. Rachel, the housekeeper, was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. Thanks again - well be returning in another year!

The property was excellent and if anything undersold on the advert! :-) It had everything you needed right down to Setanta Sports!!! The house was well positioned in between Oistins & the Gap with all amenities close by (I would however recommend renting a moke or car though for ease of getting around the Island & access to all the wonderful beaches), but overall I would give this accommodation a 10/10.

We stayed at the property for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. The house itself exceeded our expectations and we had a great time using the pool. The property is situated in a great location but it is definately worthwhile hiring a car, although in walking distance of various places walking in the heat is a little uncomfortable. The house is large and very homely and having a washing machine was wonderful, the air conditioning upstairs was a godsend but the villa would definately from having it installed downstairs to. We will definately be using this villa on our next barbados holiday, we have already, and will continue to recommend this to others. My only niggle is that i felt communications where a little lapse, i prefer to know in plenty of time about things such as, collecting the key. I felt that instructions for the property should be given alittle earlier than one week prior to your stay. Overall we had an amazing time and will return.

Just come back after an excellent time at this property. It was very roomy, had great kitchen utensils and a godsend with the washing machine! A sugestion might be to put a fan outside on the patio as it did get very hot outside-especially at night-and as no air conditining downstairs it might benefit the property. We will definetly use this property again as it was great to be within Oistins and The Gap. We will recommend it every time!!!

Very nice house equipped with all you could need to enjoy your stay there. The swimming was a real delight and was very heavilly used and apreciated. The property is in a good location, not far from the gap (good for evening entertainment) and oistins, where they have the friday fish fry (not to be missed). Just a 5 minute walk from the house is Pablo Dontes bar, where you can get a refreshing drink, food or even watch premiership matches. Ms brown is a delightful woman and has the most infectious laugh. Would definitely use this property again and would happilly recommend it to all. Thank you for the use of your home.

Loved it! Having the pool was great especially as we had a 4 year old with us. He absolutly loved it. The house was great loads of room although we spent most of the time outside. It was our 4th trip to Barbados but this was by far the best place weve stayed in. It has everything you need. Although be aware that there isnt much drawer space in the bed rooms apart from the master. The smallest doesnt have any really, but as we onlt had one child in there we used the other bed for his clothes. Dont think you need a car either because you dont the main coast road is a short walk away where you can get on the buses, $1.50 any where! We all thought it was a greaqt place to stay and our ages ranged from 61 to 4. Would recommend to everyone.

19B Fairholme Gardens is a fabulous family holiday home, with excellent facilities, from washing machine to coffee perculator. The gate to garden and poolside was great, with 2 small children. The pool was lovely and well used. The mobile phone left for our use was brillant, especially as we had family on the island with bajan phones. The location of the villa is perfect, with all areas of the island in easy reach. We were well looked after by Ms Brown.

Great property and will definately be staying there again, however Ms Brown was very dissorganised and we had to wait a long while for the keys. Plus, cleaning was only done once over the two weeks. If I was to do anything differently myself, I would also have some air conditioning downstairs, and not also have the 4 windows in communal areas and both rooms glased as we really got eaten alive by the mozzies. However, I must stress the property, location and facilities and decor were all excellent!! And I would suggest this place to both friends, and I will definately going again soon.

Owner reply:
Thanks for your comments Marc. Unfortunately Ms Brown was ill during your stay and didn't tell me so I was unable to arrange cover. I didn't realise until late that you hadn't supplied an arrival time or airline so it was a bit of a guess on my part so I aplogise for the wait for the keys. We are considering A/C downstairs for next year.
