Built in the time of the French protectorate, the Lalla Takerkoust dam provides Marrakech and its region with electricity. Le Menzah is located on the bottem of The historical village Makfaman, classified as world Berber heritage monument, is a beautiful example of the long and rich Berber and Moorish past. Pleasant centre for shopping and dining, it also is a good starting point for day trips to Amizmiz or excursions to Marrakech.
Nearby archaeological sites and museums reveal more than 3.000 years of history.
The beaches are of fine yellow/white sand at Lalla Takerkoust lake. They are long, wide, mostly quiet, unspolit and rich in wildlife. On clear days the beach offers spectacular views overlooking the Atlas mountains.
