Its good to be back! We have thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay in Gimios. As always, a week is not enough.

The cottage is exactly as Id imagined a little french hideaway to be. Just a short break but wonderfully relaxed. Beautiful scenery all around makes the short drive to historic towns all the more pleasurable.

Gimios is a collection of houses inland from the vinyards of Minervois, Canal du Midi, Narbonne and its beach resorts. It is a beautiful unspoiled area, with markets at the larger towns of St Chinion and Olonzac. The roads are quiet but slow. There are restaurants in nearby towns and in the next village.
The house has recently been renovated to give a large ground floor lounge (dining table, small setee, TV for DVD player, bookcase, etc.) with small modern kitchen and access to the enclosed yard with fig and friut trees (steel table & chairs). The open staircase leads to the first floor bedroom (1 double bed plus 1 single) and very large nicely fitted bathroom (shower only). It also leads to a sun-deck over the kitchen which is very comfortable in the late afternoon, and overlooks the hills and vinyards to the west. The narrow stair case then leads to the top floor super-bedroom (no en suite) which has views to both east and west. The rustic walls are painted white and the tall ceiling (to roof) has been lined with t & g pine.
The furnishings are simple but with tasteful colour schemes. The house has new windows with security fittings, insect shutters, double glazing, etc.
Parking is not permitted outside the house, which is joined with the neighbouring property, but there is no problem on the roadside.
We enjoyed our stay and felt that the owners had tried hard to ensure guests were comfortable and felt welcome.
