Roomy, very comfortable and well equipped.A lot of our own "outside space" with great views in every direction. Friendly, helpful owners who knew the area well. Village, with shops and bars, just over the hill (200 mtrs?). Really great place, worth every penny (or euro).

A really wonderful place - we would thoroughly recommend it! Very quiet and relaxing, but within easy reach of a few tapas bars and great walks. Exactly what we were looking for.

Sympathetically renovated farmhouse, with an authentic feel. Well equipped, with everything we needed.
We loved the terraces and views.
John, the owner was very helpful but we also had plenty of privacy.
The wood burning stove was a great asset as the evenings were chilly in late October.
Wonderful walking and cycling opportunities from right outside the property.

My partner and I booked this property as a last minute getaway. We couldnt have chosen better. Easy to get to from Almeria airport - approx 45mins - the accommodation offered comfort and privacy - and we were given a very warm welcome - and loved Meg and Floyd, the dogs. John provided very clear instructions of how to get there and plenty of useful information on things to do thereabouts. The village of Lubrin is charming and friendly - and theres a market every Wednesday where you can stok up on fresh fish, fruit and veg. If youre not planning on using one of the several Tapas bars - would recommend stocking up at the excellent Carrefour on the outskirts of Almeria. We enjoyed a very relaxing and pleasant week - great to get away from the London rain. Apologies to John for the tardiness of this review and thanks so much for a much needed and great value getaway!

This is a very tastefully furnished, comfortable and well equipped property in a Spanish village as yet unspoiled by tourism. We enjoyed being the rare English person rather than one of an invading hoarde. Lubrin has easy access to the mountains but seaside lovers should allow an hours transport. Excellent tapas bars in the village and good-value restaurants. There are excellent village sports facilities including a tennis court and a great swimming pool, all within a short walk. John jas provided excellent descriptions of walks in the area, but awalking has to be judged in terms of the heat. It can be very hot! All our queries were answered by resident host- well looked after.

We really enjoyed our stay it was so peaceful and relaxing. The weather was great , we only had one overcast day during our 7 day stay in mid September the rest of the time the temperature was 25C+.
Jane and Russell who were looking after the property couldnt have been more helpful and their two dogs Meg and especially Floyd were great fun.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and were greeted with a nice bottleof wine and a few esssential groceries. Throughout our stay Jane and Russell were always very attentive to our needs and made our stay a memorable one.
The views from our apartment were fantastic and the town of Lubrin just 5 minuites walk away was very quaint.
The coastal area which is around 50 minuites away was in most cases quiet and unspolt especialy around the Cabo De Gata area.
We would reccomend this holiday for all those looking to recharge thier batteries.

We loved Lubrin, and the position of the accommodation was ideal. The cottage was fully equipped and comfortable, and made our holiday very easy. We particularly liked our hosts who were charming and very helpful. We will be back.

Lovely welcoming host, fantastic location, excellent accommodation, peace, views, walks in all directions from the doorstep, more birdlife than we could recognise, and a proper Spanish village within five minutes walk. We didnt use the car from arrival until departure.

Lovely property (Rambla apartment) with a choice of two terraces which is good for getting in or out of the sun. Very spacious apartment and well equiped.
The location is really peaceful with lovely mountain veiws all around. The village is very sleepy and perfect for a relaxing break. The pool is small and not heated but good for a quick refreshing dip. The owners are very hospitable and provide a lunch hamper upon arrival.

Beautiful property located on a hill with delightful views. Gardens and pool were also lovely and the apartment contained all the facilities needed for self catering including a full gas oven and hob as well as a microwave.
Local village of Lubrin great to explore, winding your way through the streets and sampling the food and drink in the friendly bars and restaurants. Ideal area for walking and a good base from which to visit numerous interesting villages, towns and cities as well as the stunning National Park of Cabo de Gata.
The host, John, is very friendly and helpful giving us lots of information and maps of the area. Wifi internet available so you can plan your days out (e.g. booking tickets for Alhambra Palace in Granada e.t.c.).
We arrived late at night and there was a welcome basket to greet us containing fresh food, fruit and drink.
The overall stay was very peaceful and relaxing.
Loved it!!!

We had a wonderful time. The accomodation was excellent and the hosts delightful. We even had a welcome hamper with wine and some food. There is a lot of outdoor space, very private, a great BBQ and lots of peace. Absolutely to recommend if what you need is recharging your batteries surrounded by nature.

We were extremely well looked after on our
visit, and had a wonderful time (despite the unseasonally cold weather).
The wildlife and scenery exceeded our expectations. A magical location
combining the best aspects of remoteness with easy access to the village
centre. And some fantastic walks from the house. One practical tip: There is nowhere to buy fresh fruit and veg in the village except the market on a Wednesday. Wise to stock up on the way in to last until market day.

We booked this at the last minute and couldnt have asked for a better holiday experience. We flew into Alicante, hired a car for a very easy drive to Lubrin, with clear directions provided helpfully by the owner.
The village of Lubrin is a charming and authentic Spanish village in stunning mountainous countryside, practically tourist-free, and we were made to feel very welcome by the locals. We can especially recommend the restaurants La Cueva and La Molina, and Cafe-Bar La Plaza in the village square.
The apartment had everything youd need and was in a peaceful spot just outside the village with panoramic views over the old terraced farmlands. The owner was on-hand with help and information when necessary, and we tried out several of the walks he had designed and provided route-maps for.
We drove to Granada for a day-trip which was easily manageable from the apartment (2hrs on quiet motorways), in addtion to a trip to the stunning volcanic coast at Cabo di Gata and Mojacar Pueblo (40mins).
Highly recommended.

The accomodation and location was better than we had even expected, we arrived to the best welcome which continued throughout our stay. The Cortijo was lovely and our veiws superb. Lubrin offered a feel of great Spanish hospitality and we were welcomed by the locals. We hope to return in the spring.
We have enjoyed many holidays abroad and this will remain one of our best.
Many thanks

We were made very welcome upon our arrival by the hosts and had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. It is a very panoramic location and the apartment was lovely. We awoke to morning sunshine filtering through the bedroom window and enjoyed the setting sun on the other patio with a glass of wine accompanied by sounds of the local goat herdsman "talking" to his goats and the tinkling of the bells around their necks.

Fuente arriba was exactly what we were looking for.
Local atmoshere in the nearby village, narrow sreets local traders and a small selec tion of local bars and restaurants. With peace and tranquility only minutes away, with lovely morning and evening views over the hills around fuente arriba
A relaxing pool and garden to finish the day

A truly wonderful holiday. John and Miar were absolute sweethearts. They have a beautiful home in a lovely corner of Spain and welcomed us with open arms. This holiday was our honeymoon and it really was the perfect location for us to find lots of relaxing peace and quiet away from any hustle and bustle. A sweet and cosy house thats located only minutes away from a great butcher, baker and coffee shop in a friendly very Spanish village and 45 mins away from amazing beaches.
We really enbraced Spanish life with the help of all our hosts maps and recommendations. A tranquil holiday when we wanted it and a fun filled one on the days when we needed a little more excitement! What a great find!

A very enjoyable stay, with attentive and welcoming hosts, although we were surprised by the number of Brits living in the village and surrounding area. We would definitely recommend it based on the quality of the accommodation and the friendliness of the local people. One improvement to the property would have been to have local TV stations rather than only British ones.
