Orchard View:- Peace and tranquility close to all activities and amenities.

Orchard View Cottage provides you with the perfect base for your holiday at the top of New Zealand's South Island.
Situated on 25 acres of private land Orchard View Cottage is centrally located for a number of holiday activities. The sandy beaches of Kaiteriteri and Marahau and the Abel Tasman National Park are only 15 minutes away as is the township of Motueka with its shops, bars and restaurants.
The cottage comprises of two bedrooms and sleeps four people in one queen size bed and two single bunk beds. There is a double sofa bed in the living area for a fifth guest and a port a cot, and high chair, are available on request.

The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, toaster etc and there is satellite TV, CD player and telephone in the living/dining room.

The large sunny deck is perfect for outdoor living. Furnished with tables, chairs and gas BBQ it provides views over the orchard and across the valley. A great place to relax and enjoy the view across the valley.

There is always an abundance of native birdsong around the cottage plus our own free range hens, turkeys and peacocks. For the fly fisherman the Riwaka River is a two minute stroll away or the larger Motueka River is only a 10 minute car ride from the property.

Local Activities.
These include fishing, golf, horse riding, swimming, surfing, boating and sea kayaking. The local wine and craft trails provide a great day out.. A car is essential as Orchard View is a rural property off the main highway but only a few minutes away from the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park and the sandy beaches of Kaiteriteri and Marahau. Take a day trip over the Takaka Hill to Golden Bay and Farewell Spit.

At Orchard View
Animals at the property include small farm animals (calves and lambs), dogs, horses, llamas, cats, free range ducks, hens and peacocks. Free range eggs and organic vegetables are available in season. There are numerous native birds including tuis and bell birds (well known for their wonderful song), fantails, wood pigeons and paradise ducks. There is also a Kea which makes an occasional appearance.

Notes

Orchard View is set amidst 25 acres of private land including pasture, riverside and native bush. The cottage overlooks the kiwi fruit orchard with pine forest to the rear. We have small farm animals on site, free range hens, turkeys and ducks, cats, dogs, horses, llamas and peacocks. The Riwaka River forms part of the property boundary and trout fishing is possible on the property. The cottage is ideal for families with children being well away from the road with plenty of space for your car or campervan.
