Araxa is a luxury three bedroom executive villa situated on a small exclusive development of only twenty or so houses which were fully completed and gardens landscaped in 2006.

The villa is situated in a lovely secluded pine forest setting yet is just 5 minutes walk from the nearest shops and also the bus route to Oludeniz / Fethiye.

The villa boasts a south facing garden with private pool, patio and sun terrace with 360° mountain views.
There is easy access to walks through the woods with wildlife on your doorstep including wild tortoises in the gardens and eagles regularly sighted over the mountains.

Outside there are sun loungers, recliners, parasols, patio table and chairs, luxury swing seat, hammock and poolside shower. The well tendered gardens are lit at night and this provides a lovely evening setting for eating outdoors. The pool also has underwater lighting - very tempting!

The pool is cleaned daily by very friendly onsite maintenance staff who also tend to the flowers and provide 24hr emergency assistance and security as necessary. Our english property manager, Jackie, lives on site and is fluent in Turkish. She provides great peace of mind and is a ready source of help and advice as necessary - with great reviews from our guests.

The furnishings in the villa are a very high standard indeed with air-conditioning and marble floors throughout the villa. Of course all freshly laundered linen and towels are provided.

The spacious main bedroom has ensuite WC / power shower facilities and a balcony with spectacular mountain views. The main bedroom includes a king sized bed, ample wardrobe space, dressing table with hairdryer and 36” Satellite LCD TV.

The second bedroom has mountain views, a large double bed with wardrobes, dressing table, hairdryer and bedside cabinets. The third bedroom has a balcony with mountain views, two single beds, a wardrobe and bedside cabinets.

There is a fully tiled upstairs bathroom / WC with an excellent power shower.

Downstairs there is a luxuriously furnished and spacious open plan lounge / dining room with real wood fireplace and 42” plasma satellite TV complete with DVD player.

You will find two settees and armchair and ample dining facilities for 6 people should you not wish to eat outdoors! The sliding patio doors lead to the covered patio area and brick built barbecue with a large patio table and chairs for 6 people overlooking the private pool.

The modern kitchen has everything you would expect and more including; dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, wine cooler, orange press and top quality pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery.

The separate downstairs WC / utility room includes a washing machine, steam iron, ironing board, airer and cleaning materials.

Within the villa there is a digital security safe for your use.

There is also a convenient private parking space adjacent to the villa for your exclusive use during your stay.

Villa Situation:

Araxa is within easy walking distance of local shops and the village of Ovacik. The nearest local convenience store is about 10 minutes walk away and there is also a free 24/7 delivery service to the villa for added convenience! Either choose your supplies at the shop or there is an itemised list at the Villa to ring through your order.

For the young and young at heart the lively town of Hisaronu is only a few minutes bus or taxi ride from Araxa and offers a full range of bars, restaurants, shops and clubs to meet all tastes. There is also a local market every Monday in Hisaronu with a large choice of locally grown produce, clothes, shoes, leather goods and souvenirs.

Five minutes further on from Hisaronu is the famous Oludeniz beach and Blue Lagoon voted one of the top 10 best beaches in the world by the Rough Guide. The beach area has numerous bars and restaurants overlooking the bay and is an ideal setting to watch the sunset whilst enjoying a evening drink. A wide range of water sports is available and there are good value boat trips from the beach to Butterfly Valley and the nearby secluded islands and bays. Oludeniz is also one of the world's top locations for paragliding which can be enjoyed either as a spectator or why not take a tandem jump with an experienced instructor to land on the beach from 2000m - an unforgettable experience!

In the other direction the lovely harbour town of Fethiye is only 10 minutes by bus or taxi from Araxa and offers a wide range of shops, large supermarkets and restaurants. There are plenty of banks and cashpoints and there is a large bazaar area in the ‘Old Town’, known locally as the Paspatur. The Paspatur and the atmospheric Fishmarket and restaurants are famous attractions. Fethiye also has a modern promenade with great cafes and good value restaurants which now extend to the nearby beach resort of Calis.

The weekly Tuesday market in Fethiye is very popular - offering a very wide range of local produce as well as a large range of incredible value clothing, shoes, souvenirs, leather goods etc. Fethiye has a beautiful marina with really good value boat trips offered along the picturesque coastline and especially to the ‘twelve islands.’
Beyond the marina Fethiye has a typically Turkish atmosphere and is a great place to explore. There is something for everyone.

Local dolmus (minibuses) are easily accessible only a few minutes walk from Araxa and are cheap and fun to use. They run all day until about 01.00hrs. We have also negotiated preferential terms for guests at the Villa with a local taxi service who will pick up from the Villa within a few minutes of your call, with fixed prices to the usual destinations agreed in advance. Private day trips can be easily arranged.

Driving in and around Fethiye is convenient and pretty hassle free. We have a private parking space at the villa. Specially negotiated local car hire rates can be provided on request with collection at the airport if you prefer.

In the event of any medical emergency there is 24 hour medical assistance in Ovacik and modern private hospital facilities in Fethiye. From experience the medical attention we have accessed and received has been really excellent.


Local Attractions:

The area offers a wide range of activities to suit all tastes – activities range from the seriously energetic such as white water rafting or tandem paragliding from nearby Babadag Mountain and landing on Oludeniz beach, to more sedate activities such as visiting the many historic Lycian sites around the area at Letoon, Tlos, the Sunday Times 'top ten' beach at Patara or maybe relaxing on a boat trip or else rejuvenating in a Turkish bath!

In the summer relaxing by the pool or beach, enjoying water sports or taking one of the excellent boat trips is highly recommended. As a special treat why not hire a private boat (gulet) complete with skipper and crew for a whole day to go snorkeling and swimming away from the tourist areas with a full BBQ lunch included at very reasonable and affordable prices. We can recommend from our experience.

Further inland after only a short trip into the mountains you will find cooler air, clear mountain trout streams and a friendly and relaxed way of life. Out of the high season treking along the world famous Lycian Trail, which has its start point adjacent to Araxa Villas, is an excellent challenge for the actively minded. We have arranged special pick ups and drop offs for walking groups. In January / February snow will normally fall on the highest peaks surrounding Fethiye and can normally still be seen in late March, providing a spectacular and beautiful backdrop to the bay.

For the sporting there is a well maintained and friendly tennis club in Fethiye with six quality courts and tuition available for all ages. Fishing from the shore or boats at any time of year is a favourite pastime.

SITES OF INTEREST:

Visit Saklikent Gorge, Tlos, Gocek, Dalyan, Xanthos, Letoon, Patara, the Lycian Way, Turkish, Greek and Roman ruins, rock tombs, amphitheatres and Castle in Fethiye. Close by is the abandoned and mysterious Greek 'ghost' village of Kayakoy. One hours drive inland is the ski resort at Seki.
