A very comfortable property with plenty of room for four adults in a tranquil position at the end of a small village above a lake with splendid views over the surrounding countryside. There was an unexpected bonus this year (2012) as the lake had been drained and we were able to walk across the lake bed.

We spent a week at this lovely property. It has everything anyone could possibly need to enjoy their time in a wonderful part of France. We highly recommend it as a holiday destination.

This was the nicest gite that we have ever stayed in. It was very well-equipped and the owners had been so thoughtful, providing everything that you could possibly want. The poool was lovely, and the table-tennis kept our teenagers amused. We had a great time and we would definitely like to go back.

Lovely cool ground floor accommodation, underneath the owners house but private and very quiet. Spacious rooms, beautifully presented. Our hosts, Mary and George, were welcoming, peaceful and unobtrusive.
Immaculately clean, this gite is the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The delicious welcome pack was a delightful and thoughtful touch. Free view TV - brilliant. WiFi that works - hurrah. Private and very clean swimming pool. More butterflies than you have seen in the UK in 20 years. Views to die for. Dark nights and stars everywhere. Peace and quiet.

The gite was lovely - furnishings and equipment were of a high standard and every little detail was catered for (for example the provision of pool towels). The pool, the location and views were truly stunning. In fact we found our surroundings so relaxing and pleasant we didnt venture very far at all! Everything we needed was right there. Our Hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful and we would not hestitate to book again. We all had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

This Gite was excellent. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bathrooms and the utility room with the washer and dryer were very nice. The bedrooms are big and airy and the beds were nice to sleep in. The heated pool is great and the tranquility of the loacation is very relaxing. This is a good spot for relaxation away from it all. To top it all off, George and Mary are wonderful hosts. They did their utmost to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

This gite is great. The grounds are beautiful and the gite itself is roomy, comfortable, and in perfect condition. It has everything you need for a home away from home. The owners are extremely gracious and accommodating, especially with our baby. We hope to return again for another vacation.

we would like to thank george and mary for another perfect family holiday . we stayed for a week last year, and enjoyed it so much went back for 2 weeks this year. The gite is in a lovely location with superb views across the lake to the village of chaumard .The pool and grounds are fantastic , the gite has all the amenities you could possibly need , is exceptionally clean and spacious . and very relaxing. we would highly recommend this property , you will not be disappointed .again thankyou george and mary for so many happy memories

George and Mary are perfect hosts and their Gite is delightful.
Its spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and located in a fantastic plot of land overlooking the lake.
The heated swimming pool was a definite plus as the weather was well typical for this time of year: 3 days of full sun at 29c+ and 3 days of rain and drizzle at 23c
The local town has a good supermarket and local bars/restaurant, but for a real treat take one of George and Marys recommendations. We did and the experience was excellent.
In summary, the Gite and their hosts surpassed our expectations and we would definitely recommend this experience to others

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with George and Mary who were both very helpful, whilst being entirely discreet hosts, so much so, we have booked a return visit next year. The gite was the best we have stayed in, modern, comfortable and in a superb location. Complete peace and relaxation, swimming pool facilities excellent, even our two teenagers were impressed! We cannot praise it highly enough.

This was wonderful.
Our first family trip abroad and certainly one that we will remember.
Everything is well equiped, right down to pool towels and hairdryers, not something that I would normally expect.
The owners are discreet but very helpful when needed.
Unfortunately due to the location, you will get changeable weather which means that the pool can feel cold even when it is heated to a good temperature.

Both the Gite and the kind and friendly hosts was excellent.

Excellent accommodation, quite the best weve seen and weve been visiting France and Portugal for nearly a decade.
Nothing bad to say.
Its the first time weve been to Burgundy and what a fantastic area it is, so interesting and visually beautiful.

The accommodation was immaculate, the level of hygiene was second to none, it was equipped with every conceivable utensil and appliance. The proprietors were friendly and enthusiastic to please, all of which went towards making our stay a very peaceful and relaxing experience.

The property has everything you will need and more including amazing views over the Morvan Park and Lake. It was very relaxing and pieceful. I would highly recommend the property and George and Mary were every welcome hosts.

We cannot express our delight too highly. This gite surpassed all our expectations - offering large rooms, beautifully furnished, and also being equipped to an amazingly high standard. The peace and quiet of this tranquil hideaway were exactly what we hoped for and the fact that it is set amid such beautiful scenery was an added bonus indeed. George and Mary were marvelous hosts. We received an extremely warm welcome and felt able to seek their advice from time to time; which they gave of freely. We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday venue to others in search of a slice of authentic rural life - with a twist of luxury! Many thanks

Stayed here during September when the weather was quite poor but it did not detract from the beauty of the location. It is a well furnished and equiped Gite with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The private garage entrance was a bonus, especially in the rain!
George and Mary were perfect hosts, available when needed but always giving us total privacy.
We will definately return.

Before writing this review I thought I would read what others had written and was both surprised and disappointed by one visitor's comments, beng so much at odds with my and my wife's wonderful experience whilst staying there. Perhaps some people are never happy!
In our opinion the Gite is absolutely delightful, being well and tastefully furnished and comprehensively equipped. The Gite even has its own integral garage! It is located in a lovely part of France and we thought the views were awesomely beautiful. We loved all our visits, especially to Autun and the Museum containing all the gifts President Miterrand was given. The local wines were frequently enjoyed but there was insufficient time to sample them all! During our stay we even entertained friends to dinner and they too were highly impressed with the Gite.
George & Mary were absolutely charming and considerate hosts who were welcoming, friendly, helpful and they clearly took great care never to invade our privacy. They are a lovely and genuine couple and guests are lucky to have such nice hosts nearby. We'll return if they'll have us!!

A lovely gite in the most beautiful of surroundings - the view from the
French windows is magnificent (whatever the weather).
George and Mary have been wonderful hosts and we get the impression that they're both quite fond of cakes and and pastries...
