It is a wonderful house! We loved the kitchen and the Greek rustic style, the view from the windows, and the lovely space outside the house. Perfect for four women! And we could definitely fill it up with more people. Lots of space! Besides I was so impressed by the mix of colors in the bedrooms. The big bedroom has very comfortable mattresses, some of the others were a bit hard. We arrived late, and that was no problem. When we had parked the car according to the instructions we called Dorothea, and the housekeeper met us while we were walking towards the house. That was very convenient, because we were afraid not to find the house in the dark. The house is perfectly situated, 2 minutes from the platia (central square) and 10-15 minutes from the beach. Just walk up the steps, turn left and cross the hill with the big empty hotel, and you will see the beach right on the bottom of the road. From there you can also walk 3 kilometers along the sea to get to the long sandy beach. Lovely walk and beautiful beach. Nafplio is a beautiful town and we would definitely like to come back, next time with my two Greek-Norwegian teenagers.

Beautiful house with lovely garden (orange trees) in the middle of the old city. The house feels very warm and homely. We loved the interior and our balcony breakfasts with a view over the city and its fortress. Parking space at a square nearby. Very helpful owner. If you go to Nafplion, forget he hotels and book this house.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this great home in Nafplio! The location of this house was perfect. Steps away from the square and great restaurants and shops, but in the courtyard it was very private and relaxing. It is a roomy and comfortable house, which is a great break from small hotel rooms. We spent may hours in the pleasant courtyard. While the parking is a bit away, trotting through the ally, narrow roads and climbing the stairs shows the character of this great town. We received a warm welcome from the local hosts, including a trip to the grocery and a recommendation for restaurants and activities. We would love to visit Nafplio and stay in this beautiful home again sometime!

This property was a delight and was perfect for our group of ladies travelling through Greece. The fact we each had our own room after cramming into small hotel rooms was a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking several meals there. The location was great just up from the square and the hub of activity, and we enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard both in the morning and in the evening. Finding the place was a challenge and although I reviewed the directions after we finally stumbled upon the place and was then able to understand them better, they didnt seem to make sense at the time! A little more explanation about passing the port and finding the road up the hill would be helpful with perhaps some landmarks to look out for so you know your on the right track! Also telling you that you have to go down an alley may help as it didnt look like a "road". Dorothea was great and was very helpful at the other end of the phone when we needed her. Naphlion was the highlight of the trip for many of us and we would definitely come back again and take advantage of Tis Mammy.

Great house, its like a friend lend you his home. There are many rooms, a wonderful garden and a full furnished kitchen. If you have children there are many toys and a nice place to play.

Previous reviews said it all. It was a delight to be in a house with such charm and character in lovely Nafplio.. But access is challenging when loaded with suitcases or groceries/bottled water. We used the well equipped kitchen as we enjoy cooking with fresh greek produces which we purchased at the bi-weekly street market or at the Carrefour (no groceries or minimarkets near the house). We started a visitor book with a few tips on places we liked, but as mentioned in another review, maybe the owner could print some suggestions and information (particularly whether or not you can drink Nafplio tap water). Regarding the driving instructions to the house, I would just add that the parking is AT THE END OF THE ROAD, as on our first day we stopped half way at another parking and had to call the owner for further directions. Tis Mammys would be better value for money if some form of luggage service was thrown in, as Maria, the cleaner did not seem to think it was part of her remit. Finally, and to be pernickety , shaded patio would be a more accurate description than spacious garden.

This rental property was perfect. Weve traveled all over the world and this was my favorite rental property ever. There are handmade crocheted curtins, linens on the tables, full size refirgerator, iron, espresso maker, lots of space, airconditioning, beautiful views, gorgeous patio, lovely tiled bathroom, excellent shower with loads of pressure, gorgeous flowers on the patio, teak chairs and lounge, comfortable beds. Honestly, I cant say enough good things about the property. Id love to go there every year. Its right near the central square where I had latte every morning. The decorations are perfect. I feel like Id love to get to know the owners - they must be wonderful people.

Lovely property in a fantastic location with a great garden. Slightly faded elegance feel but we had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay here.

The house equipment is excellent: new appliances, aboundant linen, dinner services, etc. The house itself is very beautiful with wonderful sights and a nice yard - which we could not enjoy due to the appallling heat. The environment is quiet and most romantic. Nice beach within 15 min walk. Access is a little difficult due to the staircases, but this is intrinsic to the beauty of the city. And it is not very hard. The only (slight) defficiency we would mention is that the bathrooms are not very confortable. Curtains around the bathtub would be useful.

While the property had some very nice features, renters should be aware of a few things, and should make some advance requests before deciding to stay here. On the plus size, there are 6 bedrooms, and the beds are comfortable. All appliances are excellent. The view is good, and once you get moved in the location is excellent for walking. On the negative side, we had some unwelcome surprises. The local housekeeper did not answer our phone call, despite our indicating the approximate time of arrival well in advance, and we had to try several London numbers, until finally the owners picked up at the emergency number. The mention in the description of the owners mom as a contact person, and the note that she is a great cook, seems a bit misleading, as she appears to have nothing to do with guests and the property. While most of the house was very clean, you may find some problem ares. The drip section of the coffee pot had a left over collection of grounds overgrown by mold, and the mold extended throughout the coffee maker to the extent that I felt it best to not use it until someone else had disassembled it and disinfected it, hopefully in the dish washer on high heat. Similarly, the refrigerator (both freezer and main part) had to be "de oderized" by setting out baking soda. I would say that the walk from the parking lot to the place is more than a little challenge. The luggage carry up and down were difficult. The alternative is to navigate streets that were winding and narrow, and on which we had some skidding problems even when they were dry, to get a bit closer. Perhaps one could prearrange to have the housekeeper and her husband either drive and carry your luggage closer, both coming and going. We found it best to park in a lot near the elevator up to the Nafplion Palace hotel if that is full, which could happen especially on weekends, you can go down by the harbor. So if the number of rooms, the location, and the various positive aspects of the place outweigh the negatives, I would say go for it and take a chance. However, insist on a few things in advance, expecially if you are not fluent in Greek. The housekeeper is more than helpful, but she and her husband do not speak English though she even called a daughter in Romania who interpreted for me at one point!. It would be helpful to havbe a second or third set of keys. To go from the top to the lower floor, you need to go through two locked doors, one at the top and one at the bottom of an outdoor staircase. Also, to get into the property, there is a double bolt locked gate. (Note all locks are double bolted, so you need to turn twice to fully lock, and then twice to unlock.) Unless your group travels en mass to bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and outside the property, you need plenty of keys. We had an extra set made and left them, so that may help. Also, get some basic information. There is absolutely no information provided. So find out things like can the toilet paper be flushed? Is the tap water OK to drink? (if not note that you will need to carry the bottled water up many hills and stairs.) Where should trash be put when it is full in a canister? Where are extra light bulbs stored? Is there a ladder someplace making it possible to replace them? A few things that may be helpful to know: (1) there is a Carrefour grocery towards the far end of the harbor (in relation to the house), a bit up one of the streets of the road along the harbor, that has just about anything you might want (2) All grocery stores are closed on Sunday (3)The road to Agros passes a huge Carrefour grocery plus some other big commercial outlets of various types (4) if you need/want internet in the house, Vodophone sells a mobile connecting flash drive device for about 50 Euro, with unlimited connecting time for 10 days they have a store that you can easily walk or drive to in town (5) We especially enjoyed Taverna Byzantio, 15 Alexandrou, as a restaurant. They had a large variety, good prices, and usually fresh fish and good special dishes. This place would have been much nicer if we had a more accurate understanding of its pluses and its minuses, and had been better able to adapt in advance. With better information, this would have been a "good" rather than a "fair".

Owner reply:
Thank you for some excellent feedback. These points have been taken on board, some listing details updated and action taken.

We now list four phone numbers in the arrival details, for three different people all of whom have Marias contact details and speak English and Greek. This will ensure prompt arrival meeting if one phone is not being answered. That was the purpose of the emergency number, which worked well in this case (when I was unwittingly out of signal range). Please dont hesitate to call any of the numbers listed at any time.

Maria is an excellent cleaner and I would recommend that future renters take the option of having her at the property occasionally during their stay. This would probably solve many of the small practical problems mentioned. If there is a tight turn-around of guests and she does not visit the property during their stay, then I can see how some small details might be missed, but that has not been our experience of her. Our young children eat of the surfaces she cleans (not habitually!).

Part of the charm of Old Nafplio and this property is its pedestrian only zone. If future renters feel that they need extra help getting luggage from the closest road (about 30 meters) to the house then please let us know. We are happy to answer any practical questions after a booking is made and before the deposit paid.

The house was lovely split into two levels. It is obviously often used as a family home by the owners and it had lots of lovely homely touches that are often missing in holiday-lets, and made the house charming. The Upper Level had five bedrooms and a bathroom, with a veranda at the entrance to the property. All the rooms on the the harbour side had panoramic views across the top of the Old Nafplion town to theharbour and sea with the Argolis valley beyond that were breathtaking. The Ground Level had a large kitchen/dinner,which is well stocked with all that you would need during your stay, fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave etc. There is a shower/toilet, one further bedroom, and a sitting room with 32" flat screen TV and a DVD player. in additition there was a utility room off the courtyard and also a larder as you came into the house. The outside paved seating area was lovely with mature Grapefruit and Orange trees which has a lockable iron gate. The only important feature that may be an issue for some and to be aware of is that the house can not be reached by car which means luggage has to be carried up to it from below. There are 50 steps that lead to the house on a broad stone stairway that has a hand-rail on the lower two thirds. We were met by the housekeeper and her partner on our arrivalwho helped with the luggage up to the house. The housekeeper also came to assist with our departure on our last day My family and I had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed the home from home feel of the house. My parents lived in the Nafplion area for over 20 years so it was very familiar to me. It is a wonderful base from which to enjoy and explore Nafplion and the surrounding area. 8/10

The house is extremely well located it is in an excellent condition, very nicely decorated and more than adequately equipped. We found the house clean and well taken care off. It is very clear that the owner has many children which was wonderful as the young ones simply thought they were in paradise. My 8 year old son already requested that we return to “our house” in Naflpio. Lastly, Mrs Nafsika was extremely friendly but also extremely professional. We simply adored her.

We were very pleased with the property. It actually is a very friendly home. Very warm atmosphere, great location, not lacking anywhere, and would recommend it to all our friends and people we know. Thank you for making our stay memorable, we will visit again for sure..

We enjoyed staying here hugely! The house is in a superb location, well equipped and very comfortable. It has its own rhythm and personality, which we really enjoyed, and the views are fantastic. The garden is a real asset, and we spent hours lounging in it, reading, eating and chatting. The photos on the site really dont do it justice. Maria and Nafsika were both very helpful and sprang into action when we had a temporary power failure following a cataclysmic thunderstorm! It was so good to stay in a house that is clearly someones holiday home rather than kitted out simply as a place to let... And we wouldnt hesitate to book again or recommend to friends. Only other comment is that the description says "2 bathrooms and 1 WC" - 2 bathrooms yes, but another WC - couldnt find it?! Didnt matter to us but you might want to revise the description.

Our group of 8 ranged in age from 12 to 70+ . Tis Mammys was perfect for us. It was large enough for everyone to have some space. Its old town charm really made for a pleasant Greek experience. The caretaker is a wonderful Lady that I could not possibly say enough positive things about. Thank You Nafsika! It seems much of Greeces tourism shuts down in winter but Nafplio has many interesting things to see and do in the area and was a great place for a February visit. For quite a while we were the only people in the theater of Epidavras. We ran out of time before things to do. The house is set up well. The beds were A+. There are some stairs to climb to get there but both Grandmothers handled them well. Parking was plentiful at the waterfront, about a 5 minute walk. Thanks, Larry
