The villa has a lot of positives. Beautiful location and convenient for a lot of local sightseeing. However we felt the property was not prepared to a good standard for paying guests. For example kitchen utensils dirty and not enough glasses and cutlery. Some of the poolside furniture was broken and just needed replacing.
The owners description of property did not always match what is there ie there are two bathrooms not three, and no pool table.
An unfortunate power cut meant that we were 24 hours or so without electricity. Owner has no generator so this possibility should be flagged up to guests. It does happen from time to time when there is a storm. We are quite familiar with many parts of Spain so were not too surprised that the access road was pretty basic - after all it is rural Spain. But we were a bit concerned at how much the track deteriorated with the coming and going of two cars each day ( we were two families) Again guests should be made aware that the off road access is about 1km on a track that is very steep at times.
The interior of the villa is comfy but the indoor seating is limited. Obviously most of the time we were outdoors where the pool was lovely and the views fantastic. We were surprised that there was no parasol for the times when there was little shade around the pool.
Also the internal stairs are steep and a handrail would make the descent a lot safer. The terrace from the dining area has a low wall and it would not be suitable for children.
Outside the owners control but important for guests to know is that there are houses nearby with dogs and at times the barking at night was very disturbing and meant that we had to close the shutters which you dont want to do on hot nights.
Having said that, we had a good holiday but those extra little things could have made a big difference.

The villa is ideally located for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. It was equiped with all the conviences that a family would need, the washing machine was certainly put through its paces. All the family enjoyed cooling off in the pool as the temperatures reached 46 degrees on some days and it was good to know that at no time were we over looked when in the pool. The lady that meet us to guide us to the villa was very helpful and offered any assistance that we might require throughout the 2 weeks we stayed there. This is a beautiful part of the country and we certainly explored a lot of it in our stay. Fantastic beaches near by.

The review:
This villa is in a remote location which provides beautiful views over the nearby hills and is very quiet. My family and I (8 members in total) enjoyed a very pleasant 10 days here.
The villa itself offers comfortable accommodation for 8 or 10 at a push. The owner who lives nearby was very helpful in arranging the bedrooms to suit our needs. The villa was well appointed, The children really enjoyed the private pool.
The location is quite convenient for visiting local attractions (e.g. Gibraltar, Alhambra, Marbella etc) but you definitely need a car. Access to the villa is along farm track which has recently had concrete laid at both ends
Overall we found the facilities and unique location of this property made for a very successful holiday. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the regular Spanish holiday property.

"I can only say how fantastic the house is it lived up to all our expectations.
We First met our host and guide David at the airport who arranged to meet us and take us to the house. {a nice touch after a tearful easy jet delay of 4 hours) David asked me to send him a shopping list and went to the supermarket and stocked our fridge for us How about that for service. The location is truly rural Spain so we recommend a car although David is always on hand if you need to go anywhere. David speaks great Spanish and is so knowledgeable of the local and surrounding areas he is like your own personal guide and great company. we will certainly remain friends and stay in touch. We would recommend this house if you want peace and quite in a great central location only 15 minutes walk from the village of Guaro and within easy reach of Gibraltar and Marbella and many more interesting places. We will Certainly return again. FANTASTIC !!!!!

We wanted to escape from the Rat Race of the UK and spent the most wonderful week at Sunnyvilla in July. If you think that Spain is all about English pubs, high rise hotels and construction sites then think again! Sunnyvilla is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Europe, the scenery from the villa is simply breathtaking and the villa itself is paradise! For those of you who crave complete relaxation, this is the place for you! Close enough to the airport to not take forever to get to your final holiday destination and the main towns on the coast and far enough away to be a sanctuary of tranquility, complete with your very own and very private pool.
We cant wait to go back, thank you Sunnyvilla for a wonderful time!

"My fiancé and I stayed at Davids villa for a week in July 2009. Having arrived at Malaga airport at night we were unable to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery, until we opened the shutters in the morning. The views and scenery from the villa are simply breath-taking! The accommodation itself is faultless - spotlessly clean, comfortable and with every need catered for.
We especially enjoyed the pool which is great especially if you fancy a midnight swim. The villa has excellent night lighting also which is great when sitting outside on the terrace and listening to the wildlife.
The villa is situated just off the main road out of Coin - which is really well located for access to and from Malaga airport.
We wanted a rustic, countryside break, away from the masses of holidaymakers on the coast and whilst the villa is away from the beach, it is also close enough if you have kids who want sand and sea - although my two just love the convenience of the pool.
The villa is also very convenient for exploring a number of beautiful Spanish towns, villages and locations. The lakes, north of Malaga are just stunning, Mijas and Rhonda are both simply beautiful, easily accessible and well worth a visit, and there are a number of quaint Spanish towns and villages also nearby.
So, if you want a True Spanish holiday experience, with all the luxuries of home and away from the mass of normal holidaymakers on the Costa, I would strongly recommend this villa. Its also great if there are a group of you staying (no neighbours for miles), if you’re a family, or like us, just two of you - its a beautifully romantic spot.
Enjoy!!

David Wills, Sunny Villa, Guaro, Andalucía, Spain.
When It came to a Villa Holiday in Andalucía, this Summer, I had no difficulties in deciding and David’s Villa was the first choice. When we communicated with David before we arrived, he more than ticked the boxes. David’s warmth and readiness to assist in countless ways including vehicle hire , receiving guests at airport , tour guide, assisting with settling in , shopping etc has made Holiday guests hosting a fine art .
The Villa location, with panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys is a breath taking sight to see and enjoy, and the swimming pool has the “wow” factor for long hours of fun in the water for young and old.
The Location has easy access to the seaside resorts of Malaga and Marbella and the heart of Andalucía and also for those interested in Moorish History and culture.
The Villa has all amenities comfortable rooms, which are welcoming, and a cool breeze blows across the open Balcony which takes the heat off the midday sun.
The local Village of Guaro is well worth a visit, and is of classic Moorish architecture with narrow streets and tidy quaint houses..
David is always on call and attentive to clients needs and will go out of his way to ensure guest satisfaction, and this makes the difference between just another Holiday and a memorable one!.
No doubt we will return to savour the Salubrious Villa and David’s Hospitality.
Best Wishes to a Wonderful Host.

We stayed with David and Karen in 2008, and not only found the house location wonderful, but the hospitality was second to none. Our hosts were only too pleased to show us around the area, which made our one weeks holiday an absolute pleasure, we would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone.

The villa itself offers comfortable accommodation for 6 or 8 at a push. The owner who lives nearby was very helpful in arranging the bedrooms to suit our needs. Although the majority of the villa was well appointed, there were a couple of areas which needed to be completed, but this did not affect our comfort. The children really enjoyed the private pool.
The location is quite convenient for visiting local attractions (e.g. Gibraltar, Al Hambra, Marbella etc) but you definitely need a car. Access to the villa is along a unmade farm track which required some practice to negotiate easily! The owner has said he intends to surface this track for next season (2011).
Overall we found the facilities and unique location of this property made for a very successful holiday. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the regular Spanish holiday property.

I spent a most enjoyable week at the Villa with 8 of my friends, the location is stunningly beautiful and David, our host was extremely friendly and assisted so much with local information and helped point us in the right direction. The villa was well equipped and the barbecue on the front terrace was well used, the pool was brilliant giving you panaromic views of the surrounding countryside. There was ample space for the 9 of us and we had a marvelous time, an unforgettable expereince. Thank you David for making our time in Spain so good.
